It was not bad but with 9.2 it is highly overrated. ZHL is talented based on the Story of Kunning Palace, so far…
100%!! we see ZLH really good in POJ but there was a part of his character's personality left out... compared to Kunning palace where it was much more mature and intense... we are left waiting and expecting dramatic scenes with him.. but his role here is so much better than princess royal!! the novelty factor of a butcher is so real! but it was really well done at least! i didn't realize part of the underwhelming end was part of the novel... main leads really delivered though with what they had...
IMO, the weakest part of this drama is the YQQ and QM storyline. I think a little less of them and more on developing…
good point! i didn't know what to pinpoint in blossom that bothered me, and then here we see it again. i hope the director can find a good team to also support him in making a memorable wrap/ending of his drama... whats amazing about this director, story-wise is how we discover the world of the drama and the characters. the attention to details about their personnality in the best way possible! lots of trivial scenes that have a long lasting impression on us!
Regarding the pacing of this drama - yeah it could have been better, but they had 40 eps (the ban has not yet…
it wasn't necessarily more fights or more romance... i think we needed to discover the Marquis in fights. and overall the main leads were getting less and less screentime overall... but i agree with you! we cared for them and its a special skill not all cdramas get to achieve!!
Second, I waited for an actual battle scene for XZ to showcase his martial art skills though, not an uncle-nephew…
SAME😭😭 every episode i was expecting that okay finally they will show us! What i understand is that the production had many opportunities to showcase battles and martial art beyond the few that we actually got.. and it's even more frustrating!
Some tea about this drama now that it is almost over. I've never seen any production companies treat their leads…
its so sad. i think as fans and as a viewer we can't be fooled. the talent of ZLH and TXW is so obvious! I wonder how they deal with this kind of treatment within their own careers.
LOOOVED IT!! waw i'm so sad it's already over!! no spoilers,:) But!! it wasn't perfect! damn endings are not given in dramaland... did they do our main lead wrong in the last 7 ish episodes?? it's as if their story was done by episode 34... when they actually arrive to the capital. that would have been a perfect ending thats gives way for a season 2!
I had the impression that the capital part was surreal and separate from them. Then, secondary characters... have... so...much...screentime! ESPECIALLY the villain.... As if they were setting the space for a spinoff.
The last episodes plot and editing of the scenes was underwhelming... The thing is, they tried to do too much in the last arc. unfortunately i didn't get the dynamic and pace of the capital part.
REGARDLESS, we were already so happy with the main lead's evolution in the first 2/3rd of the show... it's still a MAJOR win for the cdrama scene! discovering the world of POJ was an amazing journey !
what i thought is that she tried to save him because he can't escape ( deserters are punished) and he told her…
yes, but this story plays on that. what could have been a story of deception and castration. the subtlety is that they were able to recognize their mistakes... and that's what makes the whole difference. where do you put those boundaries and or responsibilities in life and death situations. at the confrontation later on or at the battle when he tells her to go behind him... we see they both give each other full space and trust , despite the life and death risks. the evil brothers are the one that portray the real pervasiveness of domination in this story and while FCY did a big mistake, it helped them understand the boundaries in their relationship
up to ep 35, I don't know if it's the political arc, a stalling in the action, or lack of main lead scenes...but i feel nothing is happening? what is actually going on? usually there's angst, tension... FCY is just exploring the capital aloof of what's coming? part of me hopes this very slow episode in the last 10 episodes indicate a season 2 but most unlikely🥲 FCY 's entrance in the capital gotta be one of the most charming scenes for her😍 her general look is incredible!!
when a woman doesn't trust her man, she disempowers him, castrates him. What she did for him in episode 26, like…
what i thought is that she tried to save him because he can't escape ( deserters are punished) and he told her he is forced to fight. so her fighting in his place was the best solution out of unconditionnal love. albeit, she took away his choice to accept because she assumed he would not accept to endanger her.
they are both very headstrong and it could have gone in a very bad direction if they kept at it like that. instead their couple needed to give each other the space for their own freedom, risks and power.
This is mostly enjoyable and dragged out but why are so many cdramas so highly rated? As I said I find this enjoyable…
the show really stood out in the early episodes, i think it's undeniable ! tells us a lot that the hype + good leads + direction + amazing first episodes = go a long way in the success of a show!
Genuinely asking, what do you guys like abt this drama other than the cinematography? The plot feels all over…
sometimes it's just being able to enjoy each episode in a nice flow! besides cinematography i think the characters were so very well done. in shows where i end up disappointed, it's often the main leads characterization or an annoying trope about them. Even this show had the fake marriage trope but the actors delivered and the direction made it well because it progressed ( almost perfectly because at some point it was redundant ) i agree that the political part was all over here, but as long as our main leads are true to their characters and give us the nuances, its a win for this show !
So why are all of you people ignoring the fact that the description has the words “warms the world with the…
the sentence right before it also sounds weird! it sounds like the martyr trope / saving humanity w sacrifice like whispers of fate maybe? but it does sound like mistranslation!
I think there was a dialogue where he already figured out her father was most likely framed hence he can accept…
yeah i get it! esp that we still don't have tooo many elemnts about *the marquis*'s character reputation... but forgive me i had just started LLTG before POJ , i left it on 'to watch' for times when there's nothing good airing 😅😅
I think there was a dialogue where he already figured out her father was most likely framed hence he can accept…
exactly, he was investigating since the beginning of the show's timeline, AND he also already suspected her identity for a long time, since the early days of them meeting, still fell for her! so it makes sense to me that it doesn't come as a shock to him nor does it become a dealbreaker.. the best part of this change is that she is finally able to share that loaded secret that was way too heavy for her and was torturing her 🥹
but i haven't read the novel so i TOTALLY understand how it can create a huge shock for those who did, because it does seem like a major change!
those are leaked stop watching them. if u watch then plz support officially released episode as well. also those…
i never thought i'd be able to resist the leak because i don't mind the bad subs but sooo grateful for the community here! sticking to the schedule out of love for this show !! so bittersweet to know its almost over
I just want to note how Sui Yuanqing is truly heads over heels for Changyu. At episode 30, before he knew that…
the stare in the air was so poetic 🤣 i think its one of his highlight moments! oh wait almost all his scenes are really well scripted for him!! gotta appreciate that! and as much as it would have made sense for anyone to say it, it fitted him perfectly because that's where we see how obsessive love goes wrong. love and hate are flips of the same coin, running on the same brain wiring. So add that on an evil mad character, we get this 😅
he now really looks like an evil fool though! and his brother portrays the narcissistic love to the perfection.
