Is cheong ya lying about the order that she was asked to send them back safely? When was the order given to her?
We don't know how she communicates with NK. Suho's team gets instructions via the radio program with numbers, but she must have her own method (something that also allows her to send intel she gets from Nam Taeil). Maybe she already planned to manipulate him to send her in... guess we will learn more in the upcoming episodes.
Okay I am still now sure about it so can someone explain why code 2 people are trying to kill the hostages too?…
I'm sure they plan to spin it in a way that the NK spies agreed to release the hostages, but broke their promise and killed all the girls. So they killed them in retaliation, though it was already too late... The massacre of innocent students would heat up people's hate for North Korea, and make them vote for the ruling party. (since anti-communist rhetoric is something they have been using for many years)
I'd wager that most people (myself included) don't watch the press conferences and interviews.
100% agree with this. People came to this drama with a lot of expectations based on usual kdrama tropes, but Snowdrop dances to its own music... one of the reasons I enjoy it because it is unpredictable.
He never had any choice, if he wanted to complete his mission and keep himself, his comrades, and their families…
Suho has always been loyal to NK and following his orders word by word. Even when all his instincts were protesting, like when they ordered them to leave the dorm through the back door. He has a brain and thinks on his own, but so far never rebelled against his commands. He is also human and sees his team members as people rather than just tools. But that is still not against his indoctrination, since he was taught that the Party sees them all as its beloved children...
The difference is, Dr Kang has no individual thoughts at all, only blind loyalty. Which is of course just how the Party likes it, they want obedient robots with no human emotions at all.
And then there is Gyeokchan, who kept rebelling against his team leader, and against the orders they received, just because he felt it would be more glorious to blow up himself and a lot of innocent people. Together with his anger management issues, he is not suited to be an agent at all.

Yes, jtbc's character sheet said that Suho's real father was deemed enemy of the state and he was sent to work in a mine. His mother, who came from an elite family, divorced him and left her children. As offspring of a traitor, Suho and his sister must have had a very hard childhood.
I guess the old man he calls father now saw the boy's potential, and offered him and his sister redemption, if he becomes a spy for the country. But purists, like the high ranked NK lady, will never trust someone whose father was (framed?) a traitor. While Gyeokchan looks down on him because he thinks Suho is the pampered son of an elite family.
Hae In is a good actor no doubt but I seriously dislike Soo Ho as a character. I mean here's a guy who pointed…
He never had any choice, if he wanted to complete his mission and keep himself, his comrades, and their families back home alive. And until Dr Kang took control, he tried his best to avoid unnecessary casualties, which was quite hard considering the idiots from both sides doing their damnedest to escalate the situation.
Episode 7 and What's up with the Students? They're doing nothing like the 2 hostage taker are on the room and…
I think people watch too many movies where everyone is brave, can think logically and act quickly, despite being threatened by bad guys with machine guns :D
I have one doubt why Ms PI let Soo Ho to stay in the dorm, considering she listens everything, so she knows where…
Because it would have gotten the girls in trouble. Also she is not fond of the ANSP to say the least, they tortured her. She wouldn't rat out anyone unless she had absolutely no other choice.
Lol why are some people comparing this drama with Cloy!!🤣🤣if it's because in both drama nk guy falls in…
All dramas/movies you mention are set in the real world, three of them are closely retelling actual historical events.
If anything, Snowdrop is much more similar to CLOY since it is an entirely fictional story (just set 35 years in the past rather than present days). But no need to compare the two, since other than a loveline between a South Korean and a North Korean, they are completely different.
Some people might prefer one, others might prefer the other. We all have different taste.
