I think the biggest thing that bothers people is the clear power imbalance in both main couples and to some extent possible grooming. It's clear Lian has more power in the relationship than Kuea. For one he reports to Kuea's parents - in a way taking a caregiver role, he's also much older than Kuea. He tells Kuea where he's allowed to be and what he's allowed to do, you can see how Kuea is sometimes afraid of being scolded by him. Lian occasionally pressures Kuea into intimacy and also emotionally manipulates Kuea often. And this is all made worse by Kuea often acting like a child, while Lian reads as a complete adult, only making the power imbalance more obvious. As for grooming, since this is an arranged marriage, some feel as though Kuea has been conditioned since being little by his parents and Lian to be prepared and want to marry Lian. A lot of the same problems also occur with the second couple.

If this show portrayed any of this as even a little problematic probably a lot less people would be angry, but it portrays all this as a very romantic and desirable relationship.

I think the start is really weird and cringy but after a couple of episodes when you get used to its quirks it really grows on you because of it's positive portrayals of problems and strong relationships (friend and romantic).

Especially since I've been disappointed by some more heavily marketed shows recently (like Cutiepie and Enchante for example) bcs the writing and execution were a total flop, but this I wasn't even sure whether to watch and now it's one of my faves at the moment!

This is such a sweet uncomplicated show :) It feels nice and realistic but with just enough comedy. I'm really enjoying it a lot! And the actors have great chemistry!

I mean they ruined that theory already when Lian out right said that the reason for saying he didn't love him was just because he wanted to 'show him how much he loves him' (instead of tell him? bullshit if you ask me) . So at that point I completely gave up at trying to make excuses for their irrational beahviour...

That's possible, but it's not like dramas often care about actors' real ages when casting them so they might not intend it to be so.

But the problem is they used the same child actor for Lian when Kuea was supposed to be a baby and then later when Kuea is older like maybe 10... So it's really hard to judge what their age difference is supposed to be from the flashbacks...

This summary was everything. Made me laugh so much 😂 and the relationship grade 🦮/10 i dieddd

I thought at the start that the badass kuea was the ‘real’ kuea so i was hoping that as he opens up to lian and shows more of himself he’s going to be like this all the time. But instead he acts like an even more insecure version of date kuea all prim and proper and childlike… so i don’t get who was the badass kuea at the start then? Just his rebelious phase or something?

This was on average a pretty boring apisode, the only moment that got my heart beating was that hot make-up session; There was plenty of tongue and did you see Kuea's hand totally fondling Lian?! O.O Anyway since the plot is going nowhere and the writing is terrible, I guess they have to at least throw in some good fanservice to make it watchable hahaha

yeah i thought i was way over it, i was rooting hard for Thyme! But then Ren comes in with his last ditch effort to win Gorya and I was crying becuse you could see how even though he was hoping, he already knew she would turn him down :'''''''(
I don't know it was beautiful. Because it really highlighted again how good of a human Ren is.
