This is basically the problem - the only time that BDSM gets brought out is when the setting is already toxic anyway. As if it’s connected to toxicity. I also enjoy fucked up stories to be honest I just don’t really like when they are portrayed to be ‘good’ which is often the problem with BL. VegasPete are nice exactly because no one in their right mind would see that as being good even if we enjoy it.
As for good portrayals of BDSM (in an office setting no less) there was a korean movie on netflix recently that did it really nicely, and is also good to watch for someone that hasn’t had any introduction to BDSM before: Love and leashes.

Yeah I guess I'm just frustrated because there is almost 0 good representation of BDSM and so this myth that it's somehow abusive keeps getting perpetuated with every new work that includes BDSM. Every time I see something with BDSM I let myself hope that they will do it right or at the least not make it completely toxic, but I always get dissapointed.
I think it might help if I try to look at it from your point about the mafia being inherently bad. It doesn't look as though their relationship is going to be the healthiest anyway.
Its regular Thai bl tbh. Not as exciting, as it ought to be. A few things irk me:1. Over editing. Too many sound…
The whole editing gave me a vibe of a dream sequence. Like the slow motion shots with rapid cuts and weird filters... I don't know almost the whole episode seemed like it was supposed to be a dream.
You're so foul for this.....The snort I left out 💀😭Yeah there was zero and i mean ZERO sensuality during…
Right, what the hell happened with Check out!? How is that the same people that made ep.0? Already 2 episodes of snoozefest and weird charecter behaviours.
First of all and contrary to almost everyone, I don't think bdsm is ill represented here as beetween the bathroom…
Well but if we look at how Kamol's previous partners were behaving after a night with him it doesn't seem like they were prepared to have that done to them. That is why I'm assuming Kim also didn't get an acurate explanation of what Kamol wants.
I agree with your points about the execution, it looked quite awkward... And it was almost all in slow motion which got ridiculos pretty fast.
I have not watched this yet, but honestly my expectations are quite low based on the trailer and promo pictures.…
That's a good point, but we can sorta feel they are going to try to paint this relationship as nice and good, as BLs usually do, so we want for the characters to at least make good choices in the relationship department which includes sex. Otherwise when this is all presented as correct behaviour it makes BDSM look bad. They don't paint the mafia work as good that often in dramas (although sometimes they do that also sigh).
This was a pretty ok start. Some weird editing choices and for now it seems like there will be no plot or that the only plot is their relationship progression/drama but we'll see. The thing that bothered me was how Kamol seemed to be asking for consent but not really. Like he keeps asking if Kim is drunk and if he can 'get as violent as he wants', but how exactly can Kim know what he means by that? And then he complains the other guys can't take what he's dishing out - well if you don't even tell them what you want how can they agree? And apparently they never thought to have a safe word or something, because it seemed like they couldn't stop before it got too much? I don't know. BDSM always gets a bed rep from its bad portrayals in media. This wasn't too atrocious but it wasn't good either. I'll give a few more episodes a chance.
He is pretty but I think that role requires a better ability to act out complicated emotions. Especially in the later episodes. There is a lot portrayed through small facial expressions since it involves a lot of inner dialogue instead of actually openly comunicating.
im pretty sure it wont end sadlydont worry too much☺️👍🏻other = dr. doctor?
I really hope they do the BDSM well, because it's almost always portrayed in such a toxic light. So if that is done well I'll perservere even if the rest is pretty bad.
