Oh, I know, I watched almost all chinese Bls up to date xD Revenged Love and To my Shore had me in a chokehold from the first episode! That is the frustrating thing for me... I know how amazing they can be and Double Helix had everything I wanted to, but it just didn't click ☹️
Don't kill me please, but I just can't connect with this series... I wanted to like it on the same level as some other chinese series, but it is just nice. I don't understand it myself, this show has everything I like in my stories, but I won't rewatch it for a long time, if ever.
Maybe it was YC, I don't really like characters like him. I don't know and that is very frustrating!!! I want to LOVE, be crazy about it!
Either way, it is a good story, with good acting, chemistry and OST, especially the ending song, so I can recommened it for lovers of toxic and dark romance!
Every bad thing that happened was because of the parents. If they just left them alone, their children would be happy and had a great life. The parents would still live because they weren't so in rage and all could live happily ever after.
I will never understand how you can say all those disgusting things to your child and still think you are in the right! The way the mother smiled at the Wedding when YC looked soo fucking sad is beyond me!

If you want another great C-BL I can recommend "To my Shore"! It is more dark and emotional, but the characters are so well written and acted, I already watched it I don't know how many times! and the soundtrack... I never skipped!
Finished my rewatch and I can't believe I forgot what a well written and acted series this is!
Their chemistry is so natural, the way they act with each other is just sooo intimate, it feels like a real relationship. In the show, not Real life, to be clear. It just shows what good actors, a well written Script and a good director can produce and that is a natural feeling show.
I got hot when they just looked at each other, I teared up when they had emotional scenes (for every character, because they all did a wonderful job!) and I cheered when something good happened. I had a cozy feeling the whole time and I will surely come back over and over again, because I rarely find a show that makes me feel so much.
I'm excited about the new show with KristSingto and the same director! If it is just half as good as this, I will devour it! My hopes are high, but I will be open minded and enjoy the (emotional) ride ^^
