I wonder if they will show us some steamy scenes. I can't imagine it with those two, but it gets me excited.

Cringy? Seriously? I remember I thought this was a rather well made Thai series. But maybe my memory is fooling me. Haha!

I love Nanon. Back then I watched My Dear Loser, and even though I dropped it, because I wasn't into the plot, I remember clearly how impressed I was by Nanon's acting. Don't know about Ohm, though. People seem to praise him a lot. I have only seen him in Make It Right. His charms aren't working for me, but I'm willing to change my mind. In general this series looks pretty mature and high quality. Hopefully we finally get a good BL!

I started watching this and was very impressed. But the more I watch, the more flaws I find. Almost all the older female relatives are annoying like hell and bad people. And the parents who left coming back and making trouble! Sigh. It was to be expected with such a premise, but they drag it out too much. And the actors aren't great either. The comment below mine is gushing over SWL. He is very tall, very slim and has very unusual not Asian looking facial feature - no wonder he is popular in China! We all know the less Asian the actors look, the more popular they are. He just seems out of place for me. A normal decent looking guy would make such a family drama with normal decent looking people more believable. He seems like a dark mysterious prince out of a fantasy world. It's all a bit too cliche like in some romance webtoon. The other guy has not much charms either. He honestly annoys me most of the time. The child actors were cuter. The girl is great, tough. And I love the fathers and the siblings relationship in general. Unfortunately it's heading into a romance direction and I wasn't asking for that AT ALL. Yeah, yeah, they aren't "real" siblings, I know, but come on ...! It wasn't needed. I guess I will keep watching, but so far I'm not crazy about it.

I dropped this when it aired, because I wasn't really in the mood for such a series and I also thought the male lead was boring and unappealing. And then I watched Beyond Evil recently. Haha! Now I'm here again and cannot wait for the male lead to appear!

The next fan service show! Come on, Korea! You can do better. I'm only two minutes in and what's with those naked bodies and food porn? And since when are there so much cooking BLs out there? Well, I guess it's just me who is bored to death by this shallow and mindless stuff. The leads have no charm and no chemistry, but let's drool over their good looking faces and bodies.

Where Your Eyes Linger, To My Star, Mr. Heart, You Make Me Dance weren't perfect, but they tugged on my heart strings and tried to tell a story and show us complicated characters despite some cliche plotlines (loan sharkes, mafia, idols). But what's with Light On Me, Tasty Florida and now THIS? Seriously, I feel NOTHING. This is empty stuff. But the food looks good! And the boys are cute! Yeah! Success!

I binge watched up until the end of episode 5. Great drama. But I cannot bring myself to watch the rest. Don't ask me why. My interest went from 100 to 0. I'm not into the romance and despite knowing all along who the culprit was ... I just don't ... argh. I cannot explain it, but I don't want to see anymore of this series. I did enjoy those 5 episodes a lot, though.

I'm baffled that people feel so strongly watching this ... I was bored.

Great! I also need a s2 for "Where your eyes linger". Those two series are the best Korean BL out there. Good acting, good tension, good chemistry, nice plot. "Tasty Florida" or "Light on Me" are just shallow fan service. When Korea started doing BL I expected them to go more for a deep and edgy storytelling and not for the mindless and fluffy stuff. They can do both pretty well, though. It's just that Korea is good with emotions and mind games. There is sooo much potential for BL. Let Thailand do the fan service. I want intense stories!

It's the same in every country now. We are all in this together.

I was never a big fan of those survival stories, but there are MANY out there. Mostly Japanese manga and anime: Alice in Borderline, Btooom!, Battle Royale etc. Don't even remember the names of all those movies, manga, anime series. I occasionally come across them. Squid Game is like any other. You play deadly games, that's the concept. And along the way the characters stories/personalites get revealed. End of story. It's entertaining, but I don't get the hype at all.

I feel you. Didn't even watch the last two episodes. I don't care. I guess there are many young people on Netflix that are new to those genre and that's why this series is their first time encountering something like this. Then it's great, I guess? It's like those shounen anime that get big for no reason, when the premise is all the same since Naruto got released 20 years ago. Copy & paste. But for someone who has never seen it, well, it may be mindblowing.

I know how it ended. And it was a good end. But it didn't look like she wanted to confess until the police officer showed up. "Let one of us be free" she yelled at him. She seriously accepted Bei Shan to go to prison for her. At this point we can assume if Bei Shan got a very hard sentence, she would have told the truth. He fooled her by telling her he will get out soon. But still ...! Imagine! Even if the guy gets only two years in prison - for me? For my mistake? I couldn't do that. NEVER. I guess she didn't want to destroy her life and career and get a good job and then provide for him in the future. We can only speculate. They both somehow silently aggreed that Chen Nian's life was worth more - and that's just horrible. She killed Wei Lai after all. And even though that girl was an ugly human being, she is now DEAD. Take responsibility for that. She did. So it was a good end. And judging from Bei Shan's appearance in the future, his clothes and him not hiding anymore from the camera, he also became a decent member of society later on. Happy end, yeah! Still it baffles me that there were moments (I assume several days) where Chen Nian was okay with him getting punished for her crime. As if this guy didn't have endure enough until now! I can understand his point of view, though. He had a shitty life and thought there is no good future, so he just wanted to do ONE good thing. I can feel that strongly. But again, both somehow aggreed that his life was worth less. Horrible thought, really. So I'm glad it ended the way it did. Great movie.

Not the same genre, but I have to compare it to Sweet Home which I enjoyed much, much more. Sweet Home was an intense show with horrible deaths that made me sobbing like a baby and my heart racing. Alice in Borderline also comes to my mind which is exactly the same genre. The show had bad characters and bad acting, but again the plot kept me interested. Squid Game just couldn't do that. It's not a bad show, not at all. But I couldn't feel the excitement. Don't know why. It just failed to entertain or shock me. I cannot really point my finger on what it was that I didn't like.

I feel like after watching "Better Days" and diving into some movies/dramas where Jackson Yee is starring, I entered in a different world of Chinese movie making. I only knew until now the cheesy, theatrical, badly dubbed Chinese entertainment. I seriously had no idea that China has such talented and artistic movie/drama makers and actors.

I thought she would cofess after succeeding her exam. Couldn't believe she really accepted him going to jail for her. This movie was so great, that as a viewer you really felt for the characters and it was easy to put yourself in their shoes. That's why her behaviour surprised me. Honestly, I could never have lived with a guy paying the price for my mistake. No idea what she was thinking. They tried to pull the plot "I'm protecting you, so you can do something great with your life and helping people, while I'm a lost case". Not convincing. He was pure and did nothing wrong. I'm glad they ended it the way they did. It seems in the book/novel the end was different. Again: great movie, great characters, great portrayal of intense emotions, but girl ...! You're not a hero. She did their best, sure. She was stronger than many others. But still ...!

Great movie. 10/10. Great plot, great acting, great everything, BUT ... spoiler tag ...

Korean BL is moving into the cute-boys-doing-cute-things direction since "Light on me". It's not surprising. They can pull it off, and there are countless people who enjoy such series. For me personally this is a waste of time, though. Too cute, too nice, too slow, too boring.
