Chemistry: AyanAkk > PatPran. There. I said it. PS: Don't fight me on this, I will not change my mind^^
Between Pran and Pat was no sexual desire despite the incredible rooftop kiss. I just couldn't feel it. Their buddy chemistry and them being so comfortable was very enjoyable to watch, but something was missing. I sometimes get the impression if a couple is not that close or not comfortable acting in such roles, they can manage better to create that desire and longing, because of their shyness and awkwardness. Like in 2gether where the chemistry was through the roof until they became a couple, and it was so obvious they weren't comfortable playing one.
In The Eclipse they manage to give us both. They are obviously very comfortable, but there is also the desire. It's something I have never seen before. I really can't think of any other couple where you feel the actors are close, but also have so much tension between them. This alone makes the series very unique. The good acting is the cherry on the top.
I don't understand why this series doesn't get more attention. Hear me out! If you ignore the overall plot and the mystery elements, this is just a highschool BL romance but better. There is a lot to like about the series. We get many scenes between the guys (both main and side couple) that people normally enjoy. And even if you don't ignore the rest of the plot - this is no different than The Gifted which got very popular. I understand why a series like Not Me wasn't doing so well. It was just too far away from your typical BL. But this is not. There is a lot of romance, a lot of flirting, a lot of cute scenes. I hope we get a kiss in the next episode, so fans will share the content on social media and it will blow up.
The only thing that feels weird about this amazing drama is how serious the students take this 'curse'.Like...…
Maybe it's a cultural thing? In a Safe House episode of a previous season I have seen those GMMTV boys talk about ghosts as if they really exist! I was surprised, and didn't understand if they were just joking or not. I mean, maybe thai people believe in the supernatural much more than other countries.
It could be the best bl from gmmtv so far, but need to end to know better. The plot is good, the actors (most…
First is great too. People were gushing over him since the beginning. I though Khaotung is the real star. He just shines too bright. But now I see that First is keeping up with him effortless.
First seems to be an easy target for bullying: He is too naiv, too sweet, too sincere. No wonder Khao and Tay…
One thing first: I always thought it was hilarious how the biggest womanizer in the world, Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother, was portrayed by a gay actor. Neil Patrick Harris was killing it! And I doubt he was hesitant to take this role because he had to kiss women on screen. No gay actor will ever complain about kissing someone of the opposite sex despite him not being attracted toward them. Foreigners always think Thailand is sooo open minded. I don't believe that. The reason for the homophobia seems to be that gay men are perceived as not masculine enough, too effeminate, silly, weak or whatever. So being gay is a bad thing. It's the same in the Western world, though. It just shows that those guys have a problem with their own masculinity. And playing such roles is a big thread to their masculinity, if that makes sense. Regarding your other question: This may sound ugly, but they cast straight guys because the whole industry is not all about support for the LGBTQ community, it's also about sexual arrousal. I for example am attracted towards women. If you watch lesbian porn which many straight guys watch, you clearly see that those women look and behave to attract straight guys. The joke goes "One woman is great, two are even better." So for lesbian women the lesbian porn is unwatchable, because it's directed towards straight guys. It's similar with BL series. The actors are meant to attract straight women. If you have ever seen a fan meeting where a BL actor takes off his shirt and you hear women screaming like there is no tomorrow, you know what I mean. That's how they sell those series. KinnPorsche is on world tour. You can be sure there is a lot of female screaming going on because the actors are so hot, lol. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't scream like that if they knew those actors were gay. Or if some very effiminate boys were on stage who clearly are not interested in women.

I'm a bit more cautious about judging those guys. I remember back then some people said Ohm is homophobic, and I immediately defended him. He is a known "BL veteran". He acted in Make It Right, one of the first series that started the genre. Back then there was big drama around him and his co-star. Maybe the first big drama of this kind. I feel old again! I always admired him how he got out of it with his head still up. He didn't leave the industry. He took on every role. He played in a gay movie where he even got an award. He is serious about the job. But he is putting up a show, I think. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes gay jokes in private. He also sold some merch based on design he copied from a fan, and the person never saw any money. So I learned my lesson.
I also strongly feel that First and Khao are very, very good people. I feel a certain warmth watching them. But who knows? They may fool me too.

There are ugly things going on behind the scenes in the industry. They mostly cast straight guys, because the biggest part of the audience are still heterosexual women who enjoy seeing two straight men getting it on. But in reality some are homophobic, and play their roles only for the quick buck. And then we have the crazy shippers who destroyed some sincere friendships between the guys, and the not less crazy anti-shippers. More concerning though are other things like inappropriate (sexual) behaviour from directors, authors, producers towards actors. I It's an ugly world. In series like "War of Y" or "Call it What You Want" that shed some light on the problems in the industry.
Could you, please, tell me what happened? I am confused.
I wrote a long ass comment on the Safe House page, and I'm just waiting for people to come at me, because they misunderstood! Haha. I almost regret it. The dramaaaa ...! I'm tired of this sh*t.

That wasn't an explanation. I have no idea what's going on. And I won't look it up any further, because it makes me uncomfortable. I'm here to enjoy the series, and not the nasty drama. But people are sharing twitter links, so you may find there a better answer.

Those guys are fishy, especially Chimon. He, Nanon and Ohm are apparantly best friends. There is something fishy about Ohm too. He is only in the business for the money and fame. But he is a good actor, and he doesn't shy away from taking every BL role and giving 100%. So I won't bad mouthing him too much. But birds of a feather flock togehter or how it's said.
I saw some stuff from twitter, inks that were posted here on mdl but still have no idea who these 2 guys are (by…
White is the guy from Love Sick. On of the big hits of the first generation BL series that started the whole genre together with Make It Right. Time flies! I feel old now.
