I feel like they cut a ton of scenes, including how Mudaeng even knows about the ceremony. Perhaps they could have kept the amnesia plotline to one episode; then they would have had time for all the scenes they cut...
ok, but this show has always been a little campy, so the whole amnesia/personality change kind of fits with the…
I agree - the camp is what made me love this show in the beginning, but then the amnesia plotline went on for way too long and made the whole show too angsty. The cooking competition was exactly the level of ridiculous I wish the last several episodes had been.
The fact that they styled Jae Hyun and Joo Won the same during their little fight scene made me think this is going in a direction of exposing Jae Hyun's controlling tendencies. A bit like looking in the mirror... But no, it seems as though there's no expectation of Jae Hyun to change and become less controlling and stalkerish.
Despite the Bamee's amnesia and personality change which I think not necessary for the plot of the series, I still…
Right? I loved the dance scene because you could tell how much fun the actors were having. Plus, switching between them dancing happily and Bamee crying on the couch was comedic gold. I'm honestly surprised they went for real drama at all in the last couple of episodes - it was unnecessary when they could have continued the humor with the same general plot points.
I thought up until a couple of episodes ago that a lot of this was done tongue-in-cheek, and that the writer and director were going for humor. Now, I'm thinking I might have given them too much credit... If they don't find someway to twist this to make sense in these last two episodes, I'll be really disappointed. I love shows with strange, experimental concepts (like The Miracle of the Teddy Bear or Triage), but they should be executed well, regardless of budget. Writing something that makes sense is free, and there are lots of low-budget ways to tell a good story. Hopefully they pull this together before the end!
He's talking to his soulmate (or really, his soulmate is talking to him). Hope that helps!
Yep, pretty much. Anybody in their world who has the same condition he has goes deaf when it's raining, but they can hear their soulmate speak. So whatever their soulmate is saying, whether it's directed towards them or not, they can hear when it rains.
What a great reminder that Bamee was a total jerk at the beginning of the show, too. His behavior now is weirdly in character for him. Also, I'll only be accepting angry sponge baths in BLs from now on.
I hope I'm wrong, though, because I don't know if I can handle going through that again. I cried more in that movie as a teenager and then I have in any other movie.
I think those ratings sound high for both series. I'm watching ABAAB and, for me, Book carries the whole thing.…
I think a lot of people use the grading scale like we do in the American school system (I can't speak to any other school systems). So 10 is A+, 9 is A, 8 is B, 7 is C, 6 or below is an F. Anything in the 7 range is seen as average or slightly below average. At least, I think that's why you see more scores in the 7 to 10 range, because people don't want to give things what's perceived as a failing score.
Run-down of episode 10: "Mom loved this" - puts mug in a drawer where no one can see it Every time they touch, they realize they're better as father and son "They're your ancestors now" - truly the most romantic thing anybody said in the entire show, and Tin completely ignores it Tin is worried about not being cute anymore, then proceeds to nag Park like they've been married for 40 years They're father and son Seriously, angry signs on his bedroom door?? - definitely father and son "I can apologize to you 100 times" - barely apologizes once Are we supposed to know any of Tin's school friends' names? Like, even one? "Are you free on Saturday?" "Yes." "Movie?" "Sorry, I can't. Big event. Huge event." Tin blocking his ears and hiding in his room - literally a father and his son Wait, is that his mom?? Why are we doing this with 15 minutes left in the show? This is the most emotional intelligence Tin has shown, and it's anger at his mom Why did they save Tin's best bit of acting for the last 10 minutes? This should have been the whole show. "It's good if your mom abandons you. That way you can be with me forever" - cue terrible cartoon music Did Tin just turn down sex?? Where is the Tin who's been acosting Park everyday? It takes Tin 3 to 5 business days to realize he's being proposed to They have literally zero romantic chemistry. How did I watch 10 episodes of this?
I'm surprised that even though they forced a small child into almost every 5 minutes of this show, there's only one little girl in the last episode. I guess we should be grateful for small blessings?
It looks like a lot of people on here are not enjoying this show, but I'm personally loving it. The acting isn't fantastic, and the budget is obviously low. However, the makers of the show obviously have a great sense of humor with some of their editing choices. They could have made the angst really heavy throughout the whole show, but they chose to keep it light-hearted for the most part, and I appreciate that. I'm intrigued to see what they do with these last few episodes and if they take this story in a creative direction.
Jeng was wrong to tell Pat to keep distance from Nan - Pat is junior and doesn't really have a choice. That's…
I think he's caught trying to ride the fine line between the small friendship they were building before and his role as Pat's boss now. I agree that he should have that conversation with Nan as well, but Pat needed to hear it, too. It's interesting that Pat is so willing to deliver straightforward, direct truth, but when somebody does the same for him, he feels like he's being attacked and criticized. That's part of what makes the show so realistic I guess.
This is one of the most realistic depictions I've seen of issues in the workplace. The boss is completely right to hold Pat to a professional and mature standard in the office, and I honestly thought his delivery was a lot nicer than it could have been. Pat is a very believable first time employee - I hope he matures and learns to take feedback and criticism from people who want to help him grow. So far, I'm loving this one, and I hope they continue on the same trajectory!
