I dont watch a drama for a villain ... Miles Wei..great actor..i loved many his romances drama... But here his…
Great Villain aside from the Hero plays a huge role or part in the drama. It would make the conflict of the plot more satisfying if an antagonist does his/her job to annoy and infuriate us. I agreed that TPOB lack good villain.
It’s far better that way. I also binge-watched Flourished Peony for 3 days and I am very happy and satisfied. I was not active or did not join the discussion in FP thread while it was on-going. So I said, I will watch this realtime so I can share feedbacks for Part 2. But honestly, this thread is a let down. You will not be inspired to watch. So just binge-watch it at your own pace and comfort zone. For sure you will enjoy this drama. 🌸
Because the writers are telling you, “Patience is a virtue.”
The villain screenwriters will say to you, “Conflicts are part of the plot, without these, there will be no drama.”
“Tell me, a drama that has 56 episodes and with that length, there are no conflicts or any misunderstandings at all between a couple, how will the story progresses.”
Whereas, a drama that has 36 episodes or 40 episodes, has all misunderstanding trope although out.
So now, The antagonist screenwriter will tell you, “Which is far better?”
There are five distinct love languages: physical touch, words of affirmation, gift-giving, acts of service, and quality time. If you watch Flourished Peony and In the Name of Blossom, in which of these languages of love, does every scene of Mudan & Jiang Chang Yang is. I can’t fathom what other viewers keep on complaining about being together, skin-ship, physical intimacy, admission etc as the basis of romance. Probably, you don't know the love languages. If anything Mudan and Jiang Chang Yang have is one of the MOST HEALTHY AND MATURE RELATIONSHIP that I have watched in a cdrama. Their falling in love is not toxic, it is organic and stable. They might be flaws but the “love” part doesn’t make them like lovesick puppies or it dull the male or female lead. And now that they are finally together and have all these kisses, another complaint arises, that these romantic and fluffy scenes is like an afterthought idea, squeezed or force. Seriously?! 🤷🏻♀️ this is the rippling result of watching so many love stories and fantasizing romance that blind-sided viewers instead of emphasizing the other facets of a drama.
This is not your typical romance drama contrary to what you are saying that this is full of bad cliches. If this…
And who told you that I don’t like physical intimacy? It just that your romance understanding is superficial. Like it needs to be openly and over the top.
Are you sure? Lol! Romance has been part since Flourished Peony or else you wouldn’t stay this long if you are…
The context is about the viewer who feels that the writers squeezed the romance part. So I answered that their relationship grew over time and now that they have this confession, it feels more genuine. Without romance, complain. Now that it have, complain again. Why not try look at the outside or yourself that perhaps this drama might not be for you? There are even drama that got together at much latter episodes and the whole time they have a wall in between ex. The Princess Gambit. The romance part is not as bad as it seems if you have watched other proper long historical drama. The ongoing episodes and more still have love scenes to begin with. If you want to watch drama that they are together early, The Blossom, The Prisoner of Beauty., etc These love story drama will befit that romance cliches and tropes

They are a powerful duo, a force to reckon without “officially “ being together. Even without that tag, Mudan and Jiang Chang can achieve their goals as individuals or as a couple. It is not a prerequisite to shout to the world that they are an item to cause change. If anything, their relationship is more realistic because it develops gradually. If you want this kind of trope, The Prisoner of Beauty is best fitted for you to watch or any drama with this kind of genre. Because, In the Name of Blossom and Flourished Peony are different from your expectations, they are proper cultural and historical, business genre dramas.

Thank you for your insights. 👏🏻 This is what I call people who are truly watching the drama. Now, we can have proper feedbacks instead of all I see is waiting for the smooches to happen or for them to finally get together officially not like they are not with their own subtle ways. 👀 in the first place this is not a love story.
