Genuine question, why is it that in all the drama forum discussions people are always desperate for kisses and…
In all honesty, the dragon 🐉 in me can’t take it anymore. 🔥 Like seriously, this drama to begin with does not “FANTASIZE OR ROMANTICIZE LOVE” between the leads. This is a historical drama in a Tang dynasty that revolves around the lives, business, politics, society rankings and happenings of that era. Maybe these people are new to chinese drama that they haven’t watched slow-burn historical drama that have lengthy episodes. Geez, very impatient people who don’t know how a plot works.
Are you sure? Lol! Romance has been part since Flourished Peony or else you wouldn’t stay this long if you are…
I don’t get the part that you feel like it is “squeeze” or they forgot to add the romance and just remembered it now. If anything their love takes time to grow and develop into something beautiful like this. This does not happen overnight for it to feel forced nor for the sake of putting it there before the drama concluded.
Ep 17 is like oops we forgot the romance for 38 episodes, let's squeeze it all in now...
Are you sure? Lol! Romance has been part since Flourished Peony or else you wouldn’t stay this long if you are looking for the love department. Or you mean romance for you means this 💋 😘? Haha!
A rollcoaster of bad cliches with very few romance scenes (a very good kiss scene ...maybe at the screenwriter…
This is not your typical romance drama contrary to what you are saying that this is full of bad cliches. If this is like the trope you are saying then by now we have lots of mushy-mushy stuff and all. The good kissing scenes from today’s ep and onward. Other drama has not even consist of good romantic love scenes. Being romantic is not only about just kissing scenes perse. Their relationship since part 1, Flourished Peony had that mature kind of love and scenes that are full of affection. The main couple have mutual respect and understanding all throughout.
To those who love the mushy lovey-dovey and “take the world and rule together kind of love” trope. Moreover, for those who are running out of patience, fuming, displeased, consumed and so close to giving up, this may be the head-start for you. Episode 16 is the start of 👩🏻❤️👨🏻💋 🛀 oh, there you go 🏃🏻♀️
You don't have to make excuses for poor writing and character development. It is a romance - they just decided…
I have not read the novel. So that is why my point of view may differ from you. Or for someone that closely followed the literary work. The drama may not fully retained or followed the contents of the novel. They may be some parts that in season 2 that are like fillers but I don’t see it as a disservice to the female character. I watch this drama as a standalone and I treat these part like other drama that has some draggy parts along the way but it doesn’t take away the gist or plot of it as a whole. Like the first 34 eps are solid then, some of latter part and early 40 eps contain some of those unnecessary parts but it still has not reached the climax and no falling action of the drama. It has not end yet and therefore no resolution. Conflict is part of any plot or drama. So I will continue watching this.

The synopsis or summary that is laid out there about Mudan & Jiang Chang Yang is for part 2 because this second series will contain scenes of them finally confessing their feelings and the culmination of their love 💋 Season 2 is not even over yet. You said this drama is romance, it is not. The love story is not the very integral part of this drama as I explained above.
Me too, I am staying to watch this drama as it airs. I had to wait til Ep 10 - 13 were all up on Viki though,…
I completely agree with you, what matters is you enjoy the drama. Don’t let these reviews dwindle your interest. This is a good quality drama. Not only just based on pure romantic genre. Enjoy watching! 😍🌸🌸🌸💜
I haven't started "season 2" yet because I'm waiting for all the episodes to drop. I absolutely loved the first…
I so so love your take and I agree with all the points that you raise. Oh well, these people that complain want the *mashy, mushy lovey-dovey you and me and we can take and rule the world together kind of love*** 😏🤨👀🤣🤭 This drama is more of the reality and not the fantasize kind of romance love.
You don't have to make excuses for poor writing and character development. It is a romance - they just decided…
What is your definition of not being together? You mean they have not kiss or work together? 🤭 lol. You tell me please. For the duration of 47 eps not 50 eps, in those times how long does their misunderstanding last and are they not working together to achieve their goals? Are we watching the same drama? Hahaha! I will wait for your rant when the romance part comes, I mean the smooches 💋 come. Lol. Romance is not only define by grand consummation and kisses if you know.

I often see your rants, you should not watch this drama anymore. This is not for you. You look for other drama that will satisfy you. This drama is way better than other cliche drama out there.
This drama is not for those who are solely for the romance part. I wonder what others are complaining so much. This is not your typical over the top love story but a slowburn and historical drama. Similar to those lengthy drama before that revolves more on the character development and plot driven aspect which tackles on business, culture, political aspect etc. It delves on storytelling of what happened in the society during the Tang dynasty coupled with beautiful cinematography, culture flair and aesthetic touch. Compare to a drama that is airing where they got together at around the last 6 eps after buzzing around for 30 eps. This one still has 9 eps on which based on the spoilers will have sizzling smooches 😘 and even a bath scene. There are lovely scenes between Mudan and Jiang Chang Yang that are sweeter than a kiss scene. Moreover, the whole duration of the drama from ep 1-34, their relationship is a solid healthy and relationship. The misunderstanding trope etc are laid at the onset in the first half season 2 and if you will ratio it for a 56 length episode it is a small chunk. If only they would have aired this drama continuously without splitting it, then it would be much better. Or they could remove or lessen some unnecessary or filler plot. Hence, other than that, this drama still is amazing on its own.
Yes, I am staying to watch this drama. I Don’t care about the reviews. I love this drama since FP. I am not only after the romance that is why, however the spoilers are giving me 😍🤩.
Where did you get the idea that Lost You Forever is unsuccessful? Lost You Forever was a hit drama of 2023z
That is the disadvantage actually of having part 2 but if this is treated as one drama and aired continuously with no space then it will have the resounding impact of Season 1. Flourished Peony did so well even without the leads romance coming into fruition, just pure beauty of storytelling and great acting. Anyway, I don’t think this part 2 is bad either. It has not even been finished yet and from the get go, this is a very slow-burn drama. Morever, even if it’s not as great as part 1 for others, the mere fact that Flourished Peony did amazing, it was a feat already. It has established itself as a great cultural drama. This is not like The Joy of Life 2 or 3 which are other installment or story. In The Name of Blossom is just a part and continuation of Flourished Peony. It’s just bad that it was split because of this new rule.
Maybe drop it so it will save you from pain.. ugh
