A really beautiful drama and everything really came together at the end. Definitely worth watching! It's a very mild show for jdrama standards; no OTT crazy plotlines or over-acting. The characters are very realistic which is why you feel all the more for them. Definitely the best jdrama in the romance genre i've seen since Never Let Me Go!

The King In Love
it's perfect if you want to watch a drama so bad that it gets comedic value (like parody), so im gonna save it regardless XD

The King In Love
For me it was so hard bc ml was definitely my fav character as he was so interesting, thus you kinda instantly root for him. But I couldn't help but ship the other guy because he was just an angel and a way healthier option :) This show really nailed the love triangle, bc your heart is gonna be broken either way

well what was the reason? it usually takes quite a combo of diet and workout to get buff like that and he doesnt seem the type

i don't think those who agree with this article want to ban anything shirtless/sexual/suggestive or whatever. There's just a difference between it being relevant in a show or purely for fanservice (thus where I say it's objectification)

I can think of plenty times where I don't think there's any issue. So let me give some examples where they used it good (imo);
Yume Wo Ataeru - contains a quite explicit mature scene, absolutely relevant as the show is about how the fl is treated as a product rather than a human being.
Todome no Kiss - multiple suggestive scenes, absolutely fitting as the ml is an escort. Even better how they showed the contrast of how he dressed at home vs at work/outside
Hit The Top - ml was absolutely in love w himself and it fit that he'd admire his own body lol
Alice; Boy In Wonderland - altho there's no reason for him to be so ripped, there def was a reason for that shower scene nd showing his body in general.
Just between lovers - a good shower scene. I remember it really breaking my heart to see him cry there and the focus wasnt misplaced
I Picked Up A Star On The Road - shirtless scenes, sexually seductive scenes; all part of plot/comedy

Bad examples;
It's okay to not be okay - there was absolutely no reason for ml to be so ripped. He was never seen working out or caring the slightest bit about his appaerance. It's obvious why that scene was added in.
School 2017 - that water fountain thing... just fanservice
Extraordinary You - again, pure fanservice

I just didn't understand why soo ryun said it was her gradma's fault. Can someone explain it to me?
I think it's because she silenced everyone about the incident, causing Hye Joong to forget about Hwan

After reading all these comments, I have no idea if I should watch this--but there were a lot of negative comments!
Depends on what you enjoy. I personally loved it, but I can easily understand why some may not. The story's main focus is romance and friendship, so you should expect most of the story's events to be fuel for that development. That being said, there is actually very little 'direct' romance. It happens mostly through eye contact, slight skinship (touching hands, leaning on shoulder), dialogues and actions. So if you enjoy that type, then this is for you! There's beautiful cinematography aswell :)

Will try that one! Have been hearing good things about it :p

Been getting more and more into cdramas aswell! They're really great

Personally I think Park Min Young and Lee Jong Suk are two typecast actors that can actually act. Their usual character has multiple sides, but they feel very natural to watch in whatever emotion they express. This is different with lee min ho and his stoic facial expression. It feels like a bit of a waste for LJS and PMY to keep doing the same type of righteous roles over and over, but they must have their reasons.

I've only seen YJG as a child version in Missing You, so it's a little hard for me to judge his skills. But his list is really impressive! Circle and Shoot My Heart are two I've wanted to check out for a long time.

Also big LOL! Personally not the biggest fan of korean fantasy shows to start with. They throw in way too much comedy when they want a serious outcome. I'm not sure why that is their go to.

''Truthfully speaking, at this rate I won't be surprise if LMH's going to play a highschool student AGAIN or a college student bullying a poor student.. lmao!!!!'' LOL that'd be the funniest thing.

My biggest issue with his acting is that he seems like the same person in every show, but just with another costume. He doesn't emerge with his characters. As you mentioned with Woo Do Hwan; he really becomes his characters and you can actually tell them apart even if they were styled completely the same.

Also the ratings tend to backfire. It raises people's expectations. So when a show can't live up to it, people might actually rate it worse because it wasn't what they hoped it would be.

I've watched the first 2 episodes and I am giving this until at least until 3-4 more, then it's time to decide…
Agreed. I don't dislike typecast actors, but I admire those that actually seem passionate about acting and try different things. Experience shapes a good actor.

I also noticed that in S. Korea, barely anyone goes back to doing second lead or supporting roles once they've had a (major) lead role. So it was a bit surprising to see Woo Do Hwan accept second lead roles after The Great Seducer.
