I saw some comments saying this wasn't a predictable story, but personally I disagree because of the title and also the fact he fell in love immediately with 'Mina' for no reason.
Despite that, Toru was so cold towards minato that you'd actually think he doesn't like her. This is different from most stories. Usually they slip up and confuse the fl, however this guy was actually commited to distance himself from her. It also made sense why the FL slowly fell for him, even though she wasn't interested in him beforehand. This can be done so abruptly in other stories that it feels insincere.
Lastly, what Karasuma did was fucked up. I don't care if he meant well, it made me sincerely uncomfortable.

They should've stuck with the slow burn romance. The development in ep 8 was way too rushed and felt out of place. That 0% to 100% only works if there is a burning chemistry prior.
I really wish this had two more eps. I wouldve liked to see some more of her training, and some more time with pildo between the kiss and his death. I enjoyed the slow burn and was sad that it got rushed in the end, kinda western style (maybe netflix influence?)
