I mean, how the hell are the writers supposed to show the growth of a character if everyone wants them to be fully developed perfect people from episode one?
I just don't understand how people could read the synopsis and not realize that at least the first quarter of the episodes will be the "before". It's 37 episodes...that is the biggest indicator of style of show....I'm guessing those complaining don't watch a lot of Chinese dramas.

She's anything but pathetic. She has a strong backbone, but she is too willing to smooth things over for others even at the expense of herself(First daughter people pleaser...it's a thing). I think she showed that she can be strong during the family meeting, but she was having to juggle too many egos at one time. And because of the way she was raised going against what the elders say is more complicated for her. But these first episodes are to show the growth that she'll have over the course of the show. This is just her starting point, not her end game.

I feel like she's old old money. The kind of generational wealth that's more laid back because all the assists kind of "take care of themselves"...you know what I mean? Either that or she got the hotel in the divorce agreement from her ex-husband aka YZM's grandfather.

Honestly curious to see how their whole dynamic will blossom going forward. I know that Grandma thinks very highly of MCH, but I wonder if she ever even thought of pairing her grandson with her at all or if she purely wants them to be like cousins(brother/sister).
I'm looking forward to seeing how the writers handle that.

I think the acting from the FL and ML are both really good, but they are always the best parts of any show they are in.
I've been watching a lot of the the FL's mother's scenes at 2x the speed but that's because I truly hate the overly meddling type of people that don't listen when repeatedly told not to do something.
The episodes are pretty short at maybe 41 minutes long when you cut out the opening and ending credits. So far it was an easy watch. I just watched the first 8 episodes relatively quickly, and am interested to see how it goes.
It's giving Pride and Prejudice vibes with certain personality types. FL and her parents remind me of Elizabeth Bennet and her parents(meddling mother who doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut). And ML is giving major Darcy vibes. Thinking that she is one way only to be proven over and other that she is actually that authentic.

Yao ZhiMing's Grandmother married Mai ChengHuan's Grandfather(father's side) years ago after her first husband left her for another woman. Zhi Ming is her grandchild by birth/blood and Cheng Huan is her grandchild by marriage. Because Zhi Ming's grandfather and father took him away for many years overseas but he has kept in touch with his grandmother with phone calls. MCH has been close to her step-grandmother since she joined the family. MCH's father doesn't really like his step-mother...they aren't close. They are unaware that she is actual an heiress and owns the hotel that she takes tea at multiple times a week. MCH's father might be aware of this information, but the mother and MCH don't know that she's rich rich.


I'm not 100% sure the relation between YZM and the woman who helped the father. I think they are related in some way, but I'm not sure. I know that he was trying to keep his connection to her more on the down low in front of the other higher ups in the company. They wanted to appear as though they don't see eye to eye, when really they are working together to reach their shared goal. They are trying to find a way to completely cut ties to the design/furniture company that the Xin family owns. As a way to weaken someone else within their own company.

Oh it's already be on rotation on my phone. I'm talking about the physical finally boss copy that I must collect as a trophy. Also because I never know when a company is going to yank their music from a platform...I'm an album dragon.

Yeah that was the right comment I was talking about. The first 2 episode theorizing is always to the moon kinds of wild possibilities, but that's what makes it interesting too.
The baby mysteries that will slowly unfold. I hope we continue with the little "epilogues/His POV" moments. I'm honestly rewatching both episodes again to notice how he interacts with her from the beginning. They cast so well for this and the soundtrack with definitely be in my cart the second it drops for pre order online.

Okay first want to talk about ❓3. I really don't think he took his own life. The doorbell ringing, the way the scenes were cut...I have a feeling it's either an accident or a manslaughter situation where there wasn't an intent to kill, but someone ended up dying.
The photo is added because they have gotten closer to one another in the "new past", but he still is retiring & dealing with the same issues he had prior to his death.
If we continue to have a pattern of showing the coffee table at the end of each episode I think at some point things will start to go missing as well as items added.

❓2. If he had had a photo of her that he kept in "OG Past" I would be more inclined to think he remembers what she looks like. (Edit: I thought about it some more. I'm the same age as the characters in the show and know from personal experience that one does remember what their crush looks like even without a photo.) We didn't get to see his face clearly when he sees her face on the side of the road. Was he more shocked than what we saw. 15 years is a long time, but all of his songs seem to be about her. The one he sang at the concert after speaking was definitely about how they met. I also think we are missing part of that speech where he might have talked about her before he starts playing the piano.
Would he have acted differently had she not been wearing the headband with his name on it? Will we see flashbacks of the "OG past" with him thinking about her over the years? I want to see it.

❓1. I think he gave them that number. The tone of his voice when he asks if she knows who is calling is too..."unrequited love" breathy. This is why it's so important for the leads in shows to be able to act well. Giving those tiny looks or slight tone of voice that doesn't mean much the first watch, but in hindsight are EVERYTHING. The way he smiled in disbelief when she calls out his name at the pool and comes running to him. He was fanboying because SHE KNEW HIS NAME!

I'm super hopeful that the writer can make the 16 episodes work for her. I've seen shows where by episode 10/16 it gets a bit draggy...but I've just come off watching 'Under the Queen's Umbrella' so my faith in humanity(writers) has been restored.

Other than similar bubbly personalities and trying to change ones' fate, they have nothing in common. Yes they are using the same school, because everyone uses this University because it's so pretty and cinematic. There are similarities but the core plot is different.

I wrote in another comment more about my theory. About how they both, Sun Jae & Tae Sung, might have been there at the time of the accident.

The shiftiness of the mother makes me think that it's more than just the fact her daughter likes Sun Jae as an idol, but that there might have been more to their past than just a distant unrequited love. But it would makes sense that he would say his leaving swimming was because of a reinjury during a competition instead of an accident that the girl he was in love with got into. But I really really think that he joined his friend's band because SHE liked a guy in a band and he wanted to be her type.
EDIT: Don't know if you'll see this edit, but just read somewhere that the second male lead wasn't in the originally webtoon/novel so I might have to take back what I said.

I was like "Honey, EVERYONE around you can see you have mole under your collarbone....YOU ARE A SWIMMER! You barely wearing anything for large portions of you day." Like why so shocked and ready to believe everything? 🤣🤣💀

Anyone else have a horrible feeling that her first crush/idol, Tae Sung, might have died while saving her? The mom was too shifty when answering her questions about the name of the person who saved her. As though knowing who saved her might hurt her in some way. If she can't really remember what happened she might have suffered even more memory loss than what we've been told so far. She might have forgotten a friendship/relationship with the one who saved her.

I think it might actually be Tae Sung that saved her and that he didn't make it. Her friend mentioned that after her accident it was said that he got into a group fight and they covered it up with him dropping out of school. So I wonder if both boys were present during the accident. Whether or not her memory issues are greater than her mother and friend let on. But I definitely think that he joined his friend's band because she had a crush on a musician and he wanted her to like him too.

I really think that it wasn't a purposeful death. Likely an accident or manslaughter. We don't see the exact time of everything we just know that at midnight he is declared deceased. I don't quite know why he was staying in a hotel instead of his own place, so that might play into it as well. But I don't think he was alone in the hotel room.
I wonder if we'll be getting more flashbacks from the original timeline. As she changes things in the future after the time slip will items be added and removed from the table?
I'm so excited to find out how they are going to write this.
I know there is an original Web Novel but I haven't read it. And since how most of these show adaptations change things for the screen I don't know if knowing the web novel will help unravel this plot point any sooner.
