Spoiler tag cause long and a bit of a rant. Also putting this in the comment section because it moves so fast and I don't necessarily need this in a discussion section.
I've said this numerous times in this comment section the last few months, but I really need people to stop calling things plot holes that are explained in the show. The number of people in the review section not paying attention to what was shown, on screen, is actually astounding. It's like calling something gaslighting when they mean lie. All gaslighting is lying, but not all lying is gaslighting.
Just like in English(or what ever literature class you take in your home country) the story shouldn't have to spell everything out for you or over explain something that can be inferred by context clues. Over exposition within a work is the killer of all visual/artistic media. And people....this time travel isn't science based...this is not a science fiction show this is a FANTASY. Aka love and magic are what drives the story and fantastical elements like the time travel. Stop trying to make Harry Potter into Star Trek.
People are complaining that the side/supporting characters weren't explored and yet in the same review talking about how unnecessary RSJ's father's scenes and IS's brother and friends scenes were in the show. 🙃 No, we truly didn't need to know why a murderer wants to abduct and kill teenage girls. Some people are just weird and fixated on murder/death. And criminals tend to go after witnesses and seek revenge. We don't need some huge back story on the 2ML. The show gives us just enough information about the 2ML and the other friends to keep the story moving. Trust me when I say shows/characters can over stay their welcome when you start adding runtime to episodes just to give the supporting characters more of a story. You get in situations like Bridgerton season 3 where you can't even tell who the leads of the season are because the supporting characters take up more screen time and you end up learning nothing new about the leads. (this is a whole separate rant)
The director and writer did MANY things to foreshadow events that happen later on in the show. I get it, not everyone is going to pick up on these things, especially if they know nothing about Korean culture or Korean media, or media/literature literacy in general. But reading some of these reviews is like watching the point go right over someone's head as they duck down to miss it.
The reviewers giving their opinions and the show just not being their cuppa are very valid and I understand them. Not everyone is going to like the same things and having that contrast is important. I am only talking about the reviewers that are stating opinion as fact and who truly just did not pay any type of attention and decided to waste their time in a review section of a show they didn't understand, but think they did.
How does this compare with Queen of tears? That Drama Was a big disappointment for me and Is still rated highly…
Imo LR balances the story well. You don't get a fully tragic back story for a bad guy or a secondary lead. It keeps with a nice pace throughout. Each episode is almost exactly 60 mins with the exception of the finale which i believe has an extra 10 mins. So it doesn't over stay it's welcome...if you know what I mean. There are more light moments in this one with lots of comedy....though there are dark moments it gets balanced out. I like QoT, but it stayed in the darkness for way too long without breaking that sadness. LR doesn't make you sit in that sadness for long periods.

easily. of you are distracted enough. but I also have adhd hands...aka hands that can make anything disappear from myself. if the ring is light enough & hands cold enough she wouldn't have noticed.
Spoiler tag cause long: Okay you have 'Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy' in your "Plan to watch" list but not 'Coffee Prince'????? I have questions....but seriously if you liked 'My Lovely Sam Soon' you'll enjoy Coffee Prince. 'Pasta' might be up your alley as well. It looks like a lot of the other "classics" i would recommend are already on you "Plan to Watch" list but a few that I think you might like based on your star ratings of other shows.
'True Beauty': Kdrama; same writer as LR and you will see a lot of overlap in scene structure and character dynamics
'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon': Krama; very similar vibes to LR. It is one that makes me kick my feet when I watch it. Also has a crime side plot
'Marry My Husband': Kdrama; also a very well done timeslip show more "adult" as in the characters are in their 30s after going back in time
'Perfect Marriage Revenge': kdrama, if you like a good classic kdrama this one will hit all the spots...the classic tropes are done perfectly in a much shorter package
'Love Lasts Forever': Jdrama; Satoh Takeru has got rizz...i don't know if his rizz works on everyone, but it definitely works on me
'Hidden Love': Cdrama, I'm sure you've been recommended this one at least once trust that if you like LR you should like HL
'When I Fly Towards You': Cdrama, same author of Hidden Love; she falls first he falls harder, green flag
'Amidst A Snow Storm of Love': cdrama; slow burn with great chemistry and cinematography
'Extraordinary Attorney Woo': Kdrama amazing characters and actors...special place in my heart because I'm neurodivergent and so it made me feel seen...also green flag ML
'Love Me, Love My Voice': Slow burn, only fluff no drama. This one might be too slow for some people, but if you like the actors it's worth it...hell the OST is worth it...all the actors but the FL are professional singers using their real voices
'You Are My Glory': Cdrama, more mature love, and honestly Yang Yang's best work I've seen...the video game parts are a bit slow, but it's a Celebrity dating a non-celebrity so might be up your alley
Moives: 'Our Secret Diary': Japanese...so so soooo good. Not very long very much worth it. The ML is also a voice actor so you might recognize him/his voice
'As Long As We Both Shall Live': Japanese...chemistry was chemistry-ing
Period shows that I think should be watched at least once:
'Moon Embracing the Sun': kdrama, the young cast are all big names now. OST is amazing...Lyn did her thing...at least watch the first 4 episodes with the young cast
'Under the Queen's Umbrella': kdrama, cried a lot...very much worth it...Mother doing anything and everything for her sons...so good
'Love Like the Galaxy': Cdrama; Don't let the episode count scare you. They pace the show well so there are small arches within the show. I binged watched this in 3 days because the cinematography and story were so good.
'Knight Flower': kdrama; Honey Lee...just Honey Lee...ML is also going to be going places so I would keep an eye out on him.

Based off of your watch list and what you're looking for A Shop For Killers The Atypical Family (currently airing on Netflix so as of episode 8 still very good; similar vibes to Moving with multi generation and super powers) I don't really watch too too many in the bully genera as I tend to stay in the romance, but those two shows are solid

Just to circle back to a point made in the last episode regarding the bad guy. Some people are just evil and there is no use dwelling on someone like that and making them more than what they are. For people asking why he was after the two leads...Pretty much every time he went after them was because they were potential or actual witnesses to his crimes. The last episode, well Sun Jae was in the middle of the street during a police chase and the man enjoys murdering people...so...avoiding the guy didn't seem like the top priority.
Honestly, looking back on the show I realized in the final episode that not once were we interrupted by a food or coffee sponsorship. No Kopiko random break in the middle of a high tension scene to wake up a character in 3 seconds or less. We got cinematography, and lighting, and OSTs that will go down in history. We got foreshadowing and set design that played into their personal colors and traditional Korean wedding motifs. We got nostalgia in the best way, and a show we can revisit over and over again knowing that everything will be okay. We get the lessons that the villain in your story doesn't actual matter...what matters is that you live, and that memories may fade from the mind, but they are forever etched on you soul. Thank you Lovely Runner Team for such a beautiful gift of a show.
