Girlie-Pop, why are you telling Guy's personal business to Saint? What in the world? This is why cutting some characters out of a show is a bad thing. She should be debriefing her bestie about the misunderstanding she had in middle school with Guy, NOT talking to her neighbor that clearly likes her and has a connection to the person Guy distrusts the most. I'm still going to keep watching as this is a relatively short drama in comparison to the others I'm watching, but some of the character choices in this one truly don't make any sense.
Not him barking...π€£π€£π€£ I am loving this one. I feel like this character is much more similar to the actress' true personality over her Love Me Love My Voice character. And I've been loving seeing him in another romcom. He gets better with each project he works on. This is that medium burn friends/enemies to lovers. So you get the bickering and misunderstandings that add a bit of drama into the story. With this new neighborhood guy entering the chat the jealously is going to be funny. Not to mention the younger guy that likes her at work. Yeah the "Everyone Loves Me" title fits these two to a T.
Can someone spoil just one thing for me please? Is the person who died on the operating table the same person that came in for the consultation? I had a theory that she was faking her death for one reason or another and was curious if that has been revealed yet or not as I have this one on hold at the moment.
saint is such a jerky manipulative scoundrel, he gives me the ick and liu is a naive no brainer nonsensical crybaby,…
You think Saint is manipulative? Honest question, what scene or line made you think that? Maybe I'm just auto filling character traits because I've seen the Korean one and I missed something in this one.
i haven't started bc i hate lookism centered plots is that really relevant in the plot? also is it really boring?…
I don't think it's boring, as this is going at a much faster pace than the original live action adaptation. Although looks are important to the plot of the story it's more about someone's inside beauty over what people see on the outside and overcoming that lack of self worth. The ML has always liked her for HER. not how she looks. FL is just very traumatized and has a hard time trusting others because of it...though of course she trusts the one person she truly should be watching her back with. I say. wait a few more weeks and check out the compilation/FMV s on youtube to see if it will be your vibe.
2018 Korean drama my ID is gangam beauty cheap copy in thai version ππ The only difference is that the love…
Adapting something to reflect the culture/country it is being adapted for is a tale as old as time. How may versions of Romeo and Juliette or Sherlock Holmes are their out in the world....A LOT. This is only the second live action adaptation of the IP. Calm down and move on. Seek out shows that have no links to other works if you know it's a sore spot for you. Also maybe avoid all adaptations from here on out as you will only be disappointed that someone created something new from something old.
I feel like now or even a month ago would have been the optimal time to air this show. With both of their most recent shows doing well internationally....Fireworks of My Heart had a bit of a rougher go in National reception, but still. I think they are going to shoot themselves in the foot if they hold it for air too much longer. With modern shows it's much more obvious when a show airs later than it should. (lots of current context/fashion and other factors becoming outdated faster) I still have my fingers crossed for an official announcement soon.
Yes. Also the only one not using their real voice when singing is the FL everyone else that sings is a singer in real life. aka they started in the music industry.
Not my brain screeching on the breaks and screaming HR IS CALLING AND YOU'RE ALL FIRED at that masked ball. Forced to kiss a co-worker? What in the what what?
It's not real....and the nice tv show can't hurt me....π€¦π»ββοΈ
Watching this once again reminds me that China is the USA of Asia.
More so in the last few years, a lot of shows that you wouldn't think would have patriotism in the show do. It's that almost Olympic level national pride. There's nothing wrong with this it's just an observation I've made over the past few months.
You should watch P.S. I Hate You. It was good! I actually watched it on YouTube (for Free) vs a special channel…
If anyone can do a better job at a synopsis than the show page please drop it below, because I got extremely confused by the description of show. π³help.
the thai adaptation of BOF is really good, you should watch it next
Spoiler tag cause I literally wrote you a review/essayπ π So update...I finished watching F4. It was actually really good. And it's one of the faster watches I've had recently of a completed show. I was engaged throughout. Still toxic love lines, but knew that going in and was ready for it. As this is a fantasy and not reality I can suspend my red flag alarm. The only major thing that I would critique about the production is that they didn't give a lot of scenes room to breathe in the back half of the show. What I mean by that is the intentional holding of a shot on someone's expression to show longing or some other emotion. Sometimes the difference of holding the edit for a second and a half longer is all it takes. It helps the audience feel like they are in the characters head a bit without doing a narration, exposition or a soliloquy. I'm a slow burn girly because they tend to take the time to have those type of shots. Think Mr. Darcy hand flex in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, or more recently the hand/pool ball scene in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love. I kind of think of it as a form of seduction between two characters or unrequited love personified. (Typing this while "talking" with my hands is difficult.π€π»π€π»π€π»the you know what I mean kind of hand talking.) I felt like we were losing the flirtation/love of the main leads because the show began the go-go-go of fitting the plot points they wanted in. Because, like with Beauty Newbie, they were fitting a much longer show into few episodes. It's the shortest of all the adaptations with 16 hours...the closest in length is the Japanese with 19 hours. Loved what they did with MJ's character though. I always feel like they criminally underutilize the fourth member of the F4.
If you can't tell I'm a film nerd who enjoys cinematography & editing styles the most with productions. I always say it's the directors job to get the performance that is needed from the actors and the cinematographer to capture the emotions. The editor is the final writer of the show. Thank you for the recommendation. If you have anymore in ya please send them my way. π₯°
can someone tell me if she did anything bad see a lots of hate in cmnts
there was a lot of public back and forth but it seems she wasnt mentally well & kept accusing her husband of things he didnt do, causing his own mental decline. there are some good indepth youtube videos that break everything down. but what it really boils down to is she was "messy" in public about her marriage/divorce.
Also anyone know what political drama/issue is being covered up? Cause without fail, anytime some politician does something they shouldn't an idol/actors dating life gets blasted by dispatch. Also, SM really needs to work harder when it comes to protecting their employees privates lives. I swear if I went back through every idol "scandal" in the last 15 years more than half would be connected to SM.
MDL is a gateway for international fans from all over the world. (Iβm from India, and I donβt have time to…
Ever since IMDB got rid of the message board features it hasn't been the same for the fan/audience side of things. As IMDB is an actual professional networking site, having the comment sections wasn't the vibe they were going for. IMBDpro is like the digital CV for people in the industry to use. This sight I believe is solely for fan interaction and discussion. Rotten Tomatoes has always been a bit of a shit show imo. As professional reviewers aren't necessarily seeing something because they are interested in seeing it. They are doing a job(getting paid) and half the time have zero interest in what they are critiquing.
I think a lot of people are comparing this to the OG live action characterization of the FL & ML a bit too much. In this version we see very early on why she has a distrust in the ML. I have a vague memory of the ML in the OG saying something out of line without the full context, but I can't remember the exact scene/phrasing nor when it was shown to the audience. I just know that they have cut A LOT of characters/story. The OG is roughly 1040mins long aka 17.3 hours this one will end up being 588mins aka 9.8 hours long. 7 and a half hours of storyline/plot got cut. They are condensing and speeding up a lot of emotional growth the FL has throughout the show. I think it's making some aspects more blunt/brutal just to move the plot forward, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The biggest difference that I got right from the get, was that in "My ID is Gangnam Beauty" she and everyone around her KNOWS that she looks like she's had work done. The 2FL pretends to not realize that FL has had work done, to make others take MORE notice of their difference in natural vs made beauty. The FL LOOKS like she got work done in Gangnam(lots of plastic surgery clinics are in Gangnam), hence the name 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty'. With 'Beauty Newbie' they cast an actress that is an actual natural beauty, unless she got work done as a teenager she's always looked like this. She just so happens to be the FL of the only Thai movie I've ever seen. Tbh the 2FL of this version looks like she's more "fake" than anyone else. The make-up/costume styling they have her in is giving fake vibes imo. In the OG version the 2FL wore the no make-up make-up look to play up her "natural" beauty. They put her in soft understated clothes. In BN she's in bright florals and always dressed like a beauty influencer instead of the "girl-next door" look of the OG character. A LOT has changed in the few years that the shows have aired so having the social media influencer side of things makes sense for this version. I'm just starting to think of this one as loosely based on the source material, like how 'Kiss Me' adapted 'It Started With a Kiss' in a very different way than any other 'Playful Kiss' version did. 'Kiss Me' happens to be my favorite version of that IP so I'm looking forward to how they change things in this show as well.
Story is moving little faster than in kdrama. I hope she realises about Guy in 4th ep. I remember FL in kdrama…
They've changed a lot of things from what i can remember from the Korean one. It's been a few years since I watched it. I do remember he father being in the dark about her having surgery before college because he was so against her changing her face. So I guess we well be seeing lots of little tweaks here and there. With the context given in this version I think her anger makes sense. We aren't getting a lot of the internal monologue that was present in the Korean one. She was constantly trying to figure out what people meant when they talk to her or look at her. In this one it's there but they've cut a bunch of characters and scenes so they need the anger/distrust to push the story along quicker.
I'm still going to keep watching as this is a relatively short drama in comparison to the others I'm watching, but some of the character choices in this one truly don't make any sense.
