Whilst I get the anger/hatred towards Baek Hyun Woo to a certain extent - the whole wanting his wife to die thing…
I think at his core he just wanted to be able to take care of someone. When he got thrown into a family that is so cold and distant he feels useless at times. There is no one who needs him, yet everyone wants something from him now, even his own family. Soon he'll realize he never wanted to leave HER, per se, but her family and what they represent to their relationship to one another. He was made to feel like an outsider and she's so used to the way things were in her family dynamic that she never reached out to him for emotional support, at least from what I've seen so far. (Haven't been able to finish episode 3 just yet. No headphones out in public...π₯Ήπ)
Hmm the wife of the FL's brother could be the SML's 'sister'/'partner' (they both grew up in the US..)? Maybe…
I feel like the two of them and some of the staff members are in on something together. Like those who dislike the Queen's group. Even the grandfather's girlfriend with the shaman manipulation and the boar. I honestly can't tell if someone is after everyone related to the Queen's group or if they are just after the grandfather or Hae In.
it's a romcom, ofc there's some silliness. live action adaptations, comedies, some Shoujo stuff...ofc there'll…
im specifically referring to the specific type of acting that is in Japanese dramas. It's the same volume, tone, and speech pattern, most always an older male character. π I watch a LOT of shows, my guy, this acting/character type is in almost every piece of Japanese media...hell even happened in Godzila Minus One. Whether it's a rom com or a melo or an action if there is an older male or office worker I can put money on them over exaggerating loudly about something mundane. Everyone else in the cast could be playing it straight, but there is always one. Same thing with a female chacacter having the shocked face with big eyes as they turn & get smaller into themselves.
I've only gotten to watch up to episode 5, but I'm loving it. So cute and sweet. The chemistry is chemistrying.
I think the only thing that was annoying in anyway was the youtuber person when she watched his videos and a bit of the professor's acting...but that is a common issue with Japanese dramas. For some reason there always has to be at least one person who has to yell and be shocked and so over the top that you think you've entered as slapstick sketch comedy show.
The medical inaccuracies and illogical investigation for the medical malpractice were too much for me. It makes no sense that the surgeon would be looked into but NOT the anesthesiologist who is responsible for administering drugs during surgery. If they are going to go to such lengths to move the story along from the jump, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to enjoy what else the writers come up with by episode 9 to cause even more conflict. Just not vibing with the writing. Yes, I know it's "just a drama" but when something throws me out of the enjoyment because my brain gets hung up on "That makes no logical sense" I have a hard time moving on. I can sometimes completely turn my brain off when watching a show...during this one for some reason I couldn't turn it off.
I like it but I'm skipping way to much.. Saint urks me also, idk why lol .. Something is missing, maybe because…
I feel like the direction/editing is causing a disconnect with the characters. Saint is the most relax and natural of the characters...so while everyone else is strung pretty tightly, he in comparison, seems laissez-faire to the point that it could be annoying/frustrating. The edit is focusing too much on him imo for such a shorten version of the story.
So many saying itβs boring- why is rated so high then ? 33 episodes are scary
It doesn't feel like 33 episodes. They have a very sweet slow building relationship that revolves around their shared interests. The music and scenery only add to the warm feelings between the leads. I was never bored when watching and always wanted a little bit more time with the characters. If slow burns or super sweet stories aren't for you normally, this might not be worth your time or effort. But if you need some fluff between heavier shows this is the perfect prescription. Just the first 3 episodes will let you know if it's going to be something you're actually interested in. I always try to give a show at least the amount of time it would take me to watch a movie to see if I like the writing, story, directing, editing style. Most of the time I know before hand if I'll like the actors, as they are the more heavily promoted people in projects. But the creative team is what makes or breaks an experience. I hope that if you do decide to watch that you enjoy it as much as so many of us have. And if you don't I hope that you find a show that scratches that watching itch. Happy watching.
