I can definitely tell they had to do a lot of editing for time. There were so many moments things were accidentally mentioned that were never shown or followed up on because editing. It was giving "oh no we need this line in but it's tided to this other plot we had to cut...oh well leave it in."
This is one of the main reasons "pick ups" exist on productions. When they go to edit a show/movie and realize shots are missing to connect moments they go back and shoot more footage to use.
Some aspects of the editing is great when it comes to the shot chosen for a more intense or emotional scene mainly thinking about their romantic tension scenes. Hand placement, showing the breathing and the holding back. So I can tell the director got good footage/coverage of scenes, but once the censorship/time constraints came down editing got a bit sloppy.

Dude if I was Jiang Mu this would be the beginning of my villain origin story. Lied to and gaslit by EVERYONE for 6 years. I would crash out. Imma need her to be even more petty. Imma need all of them to beg for forgiveness...grovel and plead.
Also did she cut ties with her bestie Nana, the little cousin of Lin Sui? Cause I swear if they kept in touch and she ALSO kept her in the dark I'm going to lose it. The jerks even made her think her DOG was lost forever. Is she a joke to them?
Like, I get it. He's embarrassed about his injury. But all of them saw what his absence did to her. All of them witnessed how broken and lost she was and they just go along with it? Even little sis who was on their side has kept her trap shut for 6 years. This is so much more fucked up than the show is letting on. The stupid music playing as though it's funny when they see each other again. Weird choice from production on that one.

Of course I had to catch up when no one is home and so I have no one to yap to about this. The English in the early 20 episodes is so painful. Why was her class in Vancouver completely in Russian(not even sure it was Russian)? I'll be tearing up because of how sad the episode is and then BAM water's coming out my nose because of some unhinged "English" line takes me so off guard that I'm laughing.

I know of even Eunuchs holding power over an emperor. What I'm frustrated on is the fact that there were multiple times where they could have acted differently and gotten a better result. The King could have held him for more that like what 6 hours before release. Even if he was going to need to let him out because they can't kill him without the "secrets" getting out...the King could have held off one business day.
It's a frustrating plot and it's frustrating in reality. I don't escape to fictional worlds to be frustrated repeatedly.

Had to start watching it on another platform just so I could watch it at 2x speed. Episode 10 dragged more than any other. I think it was because half of it was spent with the King in self pity and the other half was with Lee Woon and Plank I mean Woo Hee.
The episode pretty much repeated information the audience already knew as it was explained to a character in show. It felt super filler like. And made me realize this show could have easily been 9 episodes if they had cut out the spoon feeding of the plot and repeated scenes/descriptions. The supporting plots just aren't interesting enough to keep me engaged fully in their story. Maybe if I could actually decern the expression Woo Hee is trying to portray I wouldn't be hitting the right arrow to fast forward. The length of time the camera holds on a character with zero expression or change in expression was astounding. Sadly the other good parts of the show are being dragged down.

I have never wanted to be able to watch viki at 2x the speed more than when trying to get through episode 10. I do not care about the king's "reasons" nor do I care about the LSM's daughter running off with the other prince. & the pace of the dialog is so slow its putting me to sleep, so im scrolling the comments hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel. as tbe plot just stagnates and tells us the same thing for the 4th time.

I think what I always struggle the most with in these royal stories where there is someone below the status of the King or Crown Prince holding "power" over them...the shows ALWAYS have moments where the badie could easily be killed. & there isnt someone else behind them etc. it just frustrates me when watching shows where people are killed left and right with little to no punishment but the show is like "oh well we can't kill this person because reasons". makes for a very sluggish final leg.

I have no clue when this started filming and when it will air, but the Leads having birthdays just days apart(6 days) is something promo/marketing department needs to jump on. Little Taurus-Gemini cusp babies.

Even though ive hit blackout bingo on my Kdrama trope/cliche board, I still love this show. It has almost every single kdrama cliche from back in the day rolled into one show, but every single one has a slightly different modern twist to it.
If you've enjoyed this one for its trope/cliche scenes I highly recommend Perfect Marriage Revenge. It has all the cliche soap(blanking on the Korean spelling of the word im looking for, starts with an M) tropes but in 12 episodes & modern twists like this one.

his facial features resemble HyunJin(stray kids) a lot. I noted it when I watched My Fated Boy. same eyes/eyebrow shape they half smile similarly as well.
