Honestly shocked my final score came out to 8.5/10 after calculating my normal metrics. For those wondering it's higher than I thought it would end up being. But the good aspects outweighed the other not so great parts. Above average but not outstanding....sound about right to me. That OST really carried that final score.

Thank you so much! I think I'll start with this one as it seems to be farther along in release than the other so I could easily finish this one first if I vibe with everything. This particular genre is a hit or miss for me so fingers crossed it's a hit.

I haven't started this one just yet because he also has another drama airing at the same time and work has been crazy so I haven't gotten to either yet.

1. Which one should I start first and why? (TUS vs Glory)
2. Are you having any issues with this one that might give me pause?
3. What is something you're really loving about this production?
4. Would you say this is a light watch, or a bit heavy? aka is it going to make me cry a lot?

I love when Xi Guang just destroys pompous jerks with her ability to know when to play the nepotism card and when to hold it close.
She's like, "Oh, I can't boast about that yet, as I'm still learning the ropes and wouldn't feel right taking credit for someone else's hard work." blink blink...hard stare at man taking credit for everyone else's work with no effort put in.

I watch on Tencent and stream it to my TV with my phone's smartview app. aka not using the Tencent app to mirror but the whole phone to mirror.

I assumed it was an old coat of his because that is an apartment he's had for a long time. Or because he's him, he could have bought her a coat that he keeps at his place. But he's definitely holding her more stylish coat in his hand as he walks her home.

That is coming soon. I think episode 29 or 30 if i'm not mistaken. Definitely within the next few episodes she finally says what we've all been thinking to his face.

Rewatching this, because i got covid for Christmas and can't really focus on any complicated new plots also don't want to touch my note book while I'm sick. Luckily Shine on Me is very light and doesn't take too much brain power, but I can't start up any of the new shows starting this week cause I would retain nothing.
Also I've watched this so many times I don't need to really read the subtitles and the music plus voice actors are really comforting.

Similar chemistry level imo(aka 10/10). Slightly different dynamic. Both ML's are generals and have a revenge arch, PoB was way more intense of a grudge. Both FL's are extremely intelligent and don't need to know martial arts to keep themselves and others safe.
I think both directors did a good job capturing romance and yearning. But PoB there is a LOT more bickering enemies to lovers than there is in this one. This one has mutual respect for each other a little fear/distrust that grows into complete faith in one another.
For reference I believe PoB was an S tier drama while Blossom was an A tier aka smaller budget, but the director did an amazing job with what he had and is extremely intentional with what shots he chose to do.

Their new drama should air sometime in 2026. Still Can't believe Meng Zi Yi tripped AGAIN the second she let go of Yun Rui's arm....he literally looked at her like "not again". I thought Ryan was going to learn to teleport.

Meng Zi Yi was too funny...when he came to set with the long silver/salt&pepper wig, that was the day she was like "Lets take lots of pictures". Li Yun Rui was teasing her about how different her attitude was that day. 😆 There are some really cute pictures of them if you got to the browser version of the website instead of the app.

Also the bts with the director and his wife giving Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui "homework" because this was one of the first times they were playing romantic leads with kiss scenes...

I personally prefer this director as he really understands how to shoot romantic scenes...or infuse romance/longing into a scene.
