I agree that not every romance needs a lot of skinship or even a kiss (Jane Austen stories don't have them and they're very romantic) but what I can't stand is when shows TEASE the audience with it and then don't deliver. (More in the spoiler tag below)
The reason Ryok fell for her was because they knew and probably liked each other before they even became idols?
That's definitely true, but they didn't really show it, so we had to assume, which is kind of bad writing. I wish they'd shown him falling for her back then, instead of just two scenes of them meeting and walking home together. That way we could believe that he'd still have feelings for her after so long.
There were so many characters in this drama and not enough episodes to give them all full stories. Yunho from Ateez suddenly liking the third one from Tea Party made no sense. He was pining so hard for Maha, then, NO WAIT, I LIKE THE OTHER ONE! The only pairing that showed us the moments of falling for each other was Riha and the guy from SF9 (I forget his. name, sorry). At least we saw them flirting!
Even the bully from Sparkling... why on EARTH did the Ateez boys defend him to keep him on the team? He was devious, mean and underhanded the whole show, then in the last 2 episodes, we love him now? For no reason? He and Ryuk got in a fist-fight and then in their next scene they're buddies?
I think this show suffered from trying to be too much with not enough time.
i think they will include it because it’s netflix show. remember the news about rowoon will make a cameo in…
Being catholic doesn't automatically make a person homophobic. Also, they're actors, they know the difference between reality and acting. AND, Rowoon starred in The King's Affection, where his character kissed someone he thought was a man. I think he'd be fine with it. And Hyoseop already did an almost-gay scene with Cha Eunwoo. Both actors would be fine with playing a queer role if the story called for it. That's what being professional is about.
I wish Choi Jae Hyun would do more BL dramas. He's very talented, and I think BLs would suit him (and let him be the leading man, whereas other dramas may relegate him to a side-character).
I hope this happens!! I also hope they don't put so much make-up on him. They turn him into a ghost, and it makes me really frustrated. Just let him have human skin!!
This was so dang cute! No unnecessary drama, no abuse, no iffy consent issues.... just pure adorable joy from start to finish. The problems felt natural, and the solutions were perfect. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Season 1 does give you a lot of background on how the clinic came to be and Kim Sabu as a person and what happened…
Can you give a summary of everything we need to know from season 1? I tried to get into it, but I didn't like the main character, so I couldn't do it. I want to try Season 2, though, because I love Lee Sung Kyung.
I enjoyed the show quite a bit, but I don't think they needed the bio-mom story at the end. It took up so much time, and there were other things that could have been properly wrapped up instead.
For example,, they could focus on Hae Yi's recovery, and if she had PTSD from being kidnapped. They didn't even MENTION that aspect of her recovery. She woke up and was fine. We didn't even see her react to the fact the man who kidnapped her committed suicide.
And his suicide felt a bit rushed and unsatisfying. They could have used the last two episodes to bring him to justice, Have him explain his motivations, etc.
And they could have fleshed out the recovery of Soo-Ah. She went from fantasizing about Hae Yi's death to giving her class notes. Her happy ending wasn't earned at all.
Or they could give us a bit more in the Hae Yi / Seon Jae relationship, and show her feelings towards him shift into romance. Throwing in a cheek kiss in the end was a bit cheap after all that build-up.
Or (last one, I promise) they could give us a reason to want Jae-Woo and Young-Joo together, other than, "he's confused, so they go for it." This romance was out of nowhere and the happy ending for them wasn't earned either. He even says he's not sure if what he feels for her is the same or different as what he feels for his sister. If it had gotten more time, I could have been on board, but it was rushed and uncomfortable.
Even the bio-mom story wasn't wrapped up!! She left Hae Yi, but then we never got a scene where Hae Yi explains WHY she wanted to leave. We never saw them work it out, they just went back to life as normal.
OH, and we never heard about that first murder victim again, the one who pretended she was in a relationship with him in the first episode. She was killed and never spoken of again, even during the investigation!
I know this sounds like a lot of complaining, but I really did like the show, haha. I just wanted the stories that were already in motion to get resolved in the end, not pushed aside for a storyline that also didn't get resolved.
