OIC. I think it works because he can pass for <27. It really isn't a visual issue at all imo.

Four years is an age 'gap' lol? That's nothing. Yes there's romance - it's by far the best element of the series imo. Its storyline is nothing wildly original, but what shines is their acting, chemistry, and use of subtlety (which is dearly under-utilized in drama). What starts as a lite/cute gets downright palpable, especially for something designed to be more of the former.

Yeah good point. More progress was made in one ep than all put together.

C'est Moi hehe. That guy is a bundle of frustrations with me - responsible for getting PBPs mom killed, drives away KHJ, and now knows an OP demon is out for PBPs life and hasn't told him lol. I get that it's the function of the character though and the actor is great.

I'm hoping the monk makes up for it by going out in a blaze of glory with the prof lol

I love those 10sec vignettes at the start of every ep. It wouldn't take much to convince me these two are an item off screen lol. (cute)^2

Crying scenes done right - I wish they were all like THIS. What I expected was a silly ghost story with amatuerish romance. What we got was sizzling chemistry and a perfectly fitting Ost.

The Ost is incredible in the early eps. The whole series goes downhill after Paris IMO.

Ep10: The day I teleport into this drama and give PBP's father a running ninja kick to the jimmy.
Sorry I meant his guardian/monk. I'm really looking forward to him having a late-night rendezvous with the vet/prof.

The first half was amazing. The second...got way too melo for my tastes. 'Not for the faint of heart' is damn right. I wouldn't Recommend this to those without a high tolerance for love squares and total suffering. It really began to border on the ridiculous. The writing was admittedly good and the director was fantastic though. An almost fanatsy-esque world is created here which, whether you love or hate, is almost unforgettable. And that's an achievement in its own right.

Ep9 - 45min of romance...my kind of episode. Can we just stick with that format XD? And this is coming from one who is usually bored by "cute".

Kinda wish they'd stop with the pre-ep recaps and narrative info sneaks.

This drama is great with a unique plot. I hope Han Hyo Joo's acting gets better...so far, i'm not convinced. :/
Agreed. Either she or the director are overemphasizing her reactions (for my taste) during the comedic parts - some subtlety is needed there. But her more dramatic scenes are SO much better by comparison, which is promising if there's more of that to come. Probably explains why I liked her in Always.

My initial impression was a bit too favorably biased and I'm still not sold on HHJ's acting (although she's good in the dramatic/serious scenes), but this is so entertaining I don't even care at this point lol. And finally a kdrama with bgm that I actually like.

I just realized the Han River Bridge is only 80' LOL. Cliff divers routinely jump that and more, sometimes almost double.

High cuteness factor between these two leads. I'm more interested in their back stories than anything else. Like the music too.

This was one of the most emotionally captivating and organic dramas I've ever seen. Japan has a long tradition of world renowned directors and writers. Unfortunately, jdramas are often plagued by quirky exaggerations and awkward dialogue. When this is absent, however, they knock it out of the park. This is one such example.

A review that convinced me to watch what became, arguably, my favorite Asian drama to date. Amazing series
