Since time of airing this drama, my every week looks like: whole week I am almost dying because of waiting for…
Which is why I may just have to tough it out and wait for its completion. I figure one shot to the head is better than one to the kneecap every week lol. Plus no worries about forgetting details.

Had hopes for this one but...eh...the start was REALLY formulaic. I thought KHE was good in Secret Love Affair, so seeing her in this more comedic/hysterical role is giving me whiplash from the potential miscasting. I have a feeling it'll get better when it gets on the more dramatic track.

Han Hyo Joo is just too cute!
Am I the only one who thinks she looks a little like Song Hye Kyo?

@Kachiiing He obviously doesn't like melo-haters lol. That's fine, I get it. My point was just that dislike of the melo ≠ bad taste, and MDL's Top___is hardly a guarantor of quality. Moving on...

@blabla100 good points. It's way too early to make any kind of judgement, especially against masterpieces and underrated gems. Personally, I don't even rate anymore on MDL or MAL because I have such a hard time pitting genres against each other. And you're right, I can definitely see this appealing to anime/manga fans, the medium from which I matriculated. W's appeal to me also stems from my frustrations with Nine. As much as I enjoyed the concept there were several things about it that really annoyed me, things W is, so far, avoiding. Time will tell though...

Yeah if there's one thing that worries me, it's HHJ. There were definitely moments where the theatrics went overboard. Not entirely sure whether the culprit is her acting or the writing, yet...

Hate to tell you, but "sticking rude finger up" to those who don't think 5 melodramas all belong in the top 10 is biased as well...

Well...I wasn't referring to W, obviously, but rather the other titles that hardly belong there. And if popularity was a reliable measure for merit, Twilight would be considered quality literature, so....

Maybe, but the top 10/20 is stocked with shows that are overrated af, so some apprehension is understandable. But if W stays this strong, it has a welcome place in my favorites.

SOOO GOOD Ahh As expected from the writer of Nine times time travel! Both dramas are SO Good! I can't wait until…
I've been secretly hoping that something as creative and well-written as Nine would come along, because, unfortunately, I thought the acting was mediocre, the villain border-line laughable, and the music just...terrible. Fortunately, W has none of those problems!

Congrats to W for being No.1 in the Top Rated Shows List, surpassing even Signal.
Never thought I'd say this, but this is a hyped show that, so far, actually deserves it. Can't say whether or not it's in the same league as Signal, however from the standpoint of writing/execution, it's making a mockery of many in the Top ____.

OMFG...this series so far is a total shocker. I'm by default negatively biased towards hyped/popular shows (thanks DotS), but this is bringing the A Game in every category. JC, I'd watch this for the amazing background music alone, which permeates every scene and is already some of the best I've heard in kdrama. That short scene in ep3 was better choreographed than most with action as the primary genre...and this is a romance lol. Acting is spot on, esp the male lead, and I can see some GREAT potential for chemistry. Even the dialogue feels natural to me, an element of which I'm a very harsh critic. I'm just stunned...and this from someone who mainly comments to express disapproval. Just, WOW.

Props to an interesting concept. The melo tag has me a little worried, but if it's in the style of the first two eps it's going to be great. And unlike Nine, this has GREAT background music!

The story does not flow well, its like a patchwork of shoujo manga elements
I agree. It's cool that we already have an established/physical relationship but the way our leads went from contract--->happily married felt...off. Side characters are mostly throw aways too, esp that ridiculous father of hers. Maybe the worst I've ever seen. Hoping it gets better...

I can't even remember the last time a romcom made me laugh, but this show is a riot. Even with the typical awkward dialogue of jdramas, this has a naturalness and simplicity in writing that's so refreshing.

I don't know who makes them but OHY #1 is sporting some of the most elegant shoes I've ever seen. Puts skanky super high heels to shame.

I was getting interested...right up until incurable f'ing disease. There's enough of that shit in real life. Ughhhh. I just wish writers would STOP relying on this plot device. They're not inherently bad, but it's getting past the point of tiresome...

The pilot was mediocre, borderline cringeworthy but the BGM was pretty good. I hate it when that happens. This may not be my cup of tea idk.

But I don't understand the "slow" comments at all. There's a dozen or more things that already annoy me here but that criticism would be the very last.

On Hapimari: Happy Marriage!? Jul 7, 2016
I hope they don't rely too heavily on comedy because it comes off as cheap/corny, and while I'm not impressed with SN's acting, I see some potential chemistry between our leads. That is...if FD isn't a typical ceo tsundere until ep 11. And please for the love of God I hope there is no triangle, serious one anyway. BGM is promising - hope they stuff it with more orchestral.

The first ten episodes were really good. LYH and LMS carry the show but the male characters (not acting per se) are subject to lackluster writing. Tonally quite organic, comparatively, but the second half is barely mediocre. The business/finance/MA plots took absurdity to a whole new level. Ughhh. Too bad because the early eps that focussed on LYH's emotional/occupational trials were GREAT.

Phenomenal. Now if only all j/k dramas could do romance this good. Easily one of the best, most touchingly realistic portrayals in this medium.

What kept me watching this were Dae Yong and Myung Ju - at least there is something to look forward to know what…
Agreed. The 2nd leads' rom completely overshadows the 1st's imo, but honestly I don't consider either 'good' anymore. And gawd the latest round of action scenes were a total cringefest for me, sadly. Personally, I think this series topped out in ep.6, ironically, when they were apart. That, and when the Lt. Col. stood up for his team against all the top brass.
