Friends to Lovers!
8.75!
I binged watched this in 3 days...
The first few episodes are kind of questionable, but the more you watch, the better it gets.
Story:
-there's this sort of safety you feel when watching this, because the first scene is the main leads getting married. So you know whatever comes their way, they'll overcome it!
-friendship was shown, but they still focuses on the main leads
-the main leads relationship got healthier with each episode (that was really great)
-both main leads were able to reject others in a graceful and honorable way
-main leads were adorable
-ml isn't a jerk! Although he was a "lone wolf" kind of guy, he was never actually mean. He was a chill guy
-Although they only realized feelings kind of late, I really enjoyed the main leads purely platonic friendship (with random intimate hugs that they don't talk about 😏😏😏)
-was realistic, but still eventful. The conflicts that happened made sense and were reasonable (and similar to real life)
-usually when there are study for school scenes and work scenes, it's easy to get bored. But the way how they did it made me anxious about those problems too. It made me care about these other plots and not find them boring (like I usually do)
-time skips were done well. They actually looked older each time.
-ending was adorable, but could have been better. Slightly tropey.
-there was a plot that had to do with fl, that was dropped and never picked up. I wouldn't call it a loose end, but I wished they'd gone farther with it. But, this is a fluffy youth drama, not a thriller
-I wish there was more romantic tension between the main leads, but this is a fluffy youth drama, so.... Like, they hugged a lot, but kiss, not so much.
-2cp was chaotic. If you feel a lack of angst with the mcp, you can find it in abundance with then 2cp. I don't like too much conflict, so I skipped them.
-bit of a love triangle, but wasn't very bad. Actually, it was a decent love triangle that I don't dislike (which is a rare occurance)
-EDIT: 1/28/2025: The script writers did us dirty. The ml and fl have great romantic chemistry in the bts shots, but didn’t write any in to the actual drama. I thought that their chemistry was just not that romantic, it is. You should watch the bts!
Acting:
-both leads acted very well, even though they don't have much experience
-their chemistry was cute and fluffy.
-both leads are really good looking
Music:
-cutesy and enjoyable
-will add to my playlist when I get the chance
Rewatch:
-some plot twists
-but I'd still rewatch when I get the time
To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much. I kind of randomly picked a drama from my Want To Watch list, and I got this! Recommend that others watch too!
