If it's in a small village where most people get along and we're just a second rate family that has everyone's respect but not too much authority then at least no one will be forcing us to to do anything. But even that would depend on luck, I've seen retired people being called back. Maybe the best would be a small hunter's/ farmers family living up the mountains and only going down when you need to buy stuff once in a while, interacting mostly with only your family members.
I know it's not everyone who has a sad life, but you'd wonder how people survived in that era
