I'm so confused as to how people are related. The guy who got a part of his thigh cut off has a dad, right? Then that lady who has a husband (with whom they're trying to scam churchgoers) is his mother? Did I miss something here? 😅

Can someone please explain this scene in ep 1? The 2 bandits come to dine at the inn and harass FL. Then they are forced to leave because the inspectors arrive. Then late at night, there's a scene when FL and the innkeeper are retiring for the night and 2 people are outside and knock but we don't see their faces. Was it those 2 bandits or a messenger for the Qing envoy? Kindly explain this scene if someone got it.

I watched 15 eps in 2 days. On the final one now. I'd say it's very very interesting, but I was hooked from ep 1 so can't speak for you 😅
