Worthy to watch - Friends if you have a RedNote account this edited video is really good. It is all based on the series and for me represent so well how sensual the relationship between ZiAng and ShuHe was portrayed. Kudos, first of all to the director/editor/cinematographer that give those moments "shape" to be seen, and give them the right pace. Sound camera work in this series. Of course, ZheXu and Mi Jin amazing performance and chemistry. Best kissers in the Chinese industry - I can tell this because I watch Chinese dramas in the hundreds!-. To sum up, those moments that make our hearts flutter are very much a team work. (not to put any series down but ABO is a good example of how a non-professional direction/editing/camera work can undermine the effort of the actors in the romantic scenes). There are no words that can fully describe the emotions i experience when watching this BL. It's unlike any series…
So well expressed Kacee, as River said you are not alone in feeling this way. A poet said to me long time ago in relation to another poet's work: these are poems that I would greatly miss in life if I would have not read them. I feel the same with this series. It is an amazing piece of work.
All of them are beautifuly delivered. If I have to choose, like you, the second kiss in ep 6 for various reasons. 1) It is a kiss of surrender, both from this vulnerable state give themselves permission to love and desire each other 2) It is the kiss that represent them becoming passionate lovers that will determine the rest of the story line 3) The whole scene that leads to this kiss is so moving. SH lying to DZA, DZA rejecting the lies and finally acknowledging his physical desire for him, kissing SH first. SH resisting just to collapse in DZA arms. The full scene is iconic. It is a kiss that when I watched it for first time I had tears in my eyes. It awoke all sort of emotions in me. It is the kind of full on experience that I deeply appreciate as a viewer.

Duan father was a great general in the Court of the South Kingdom, a very prominent, very influential, this is why he was dangerous. The Primer Minister hated him and conspire against him to portray him as a traitor. The same way that he did in relation to ShuHe mother. Duan Zi Ang mother was a maid in the palace of Jibei (North) Kingdom and the Emperor took fancy on her and made her a very low concubine. When she got pregnant it looks like she was afraid the child, born out of wedlock, could be in danger and ask the head of the Shadow Guards, who is always somebody of Royal Blood, in this case brother of the Emperor, to give the baby away to the Duan family. Duan Hai Yi is not related by blood to Duan Zi Ang, he was a "proper" Duan, but ZiAng loved him all the same. This is what he took him with him to Jibei. HY was protected by servant and took away and ZiAng who was playing outside with ShuHe arrived late and was seized by the Shadow Guards to be trained as an elite assassin next to his real uncle, who he did not know he was related at this time. Because ZiAng had royal blood he was not marked in the back with the sign of the Shadow Guards.

CP fan service - A reflection to avoid dissapointments I think we have reached a point in the "history" of XuJin that it is important to reflect on what CP fan-service really is. In most cases, a CP (couple pairing) is a professional partnership created to promote a show, attract fans, and build chemistry that keeps audiences hooked. The sweet interactions, matching posts, or affectionate moments we see are often part of a marketing strategy: a blend of acting, friendship, and promotion; rarely a real romance off-screen.
Thailand has turned BL fan-service into a well established business model: actors openly engage in couple content, and fans generally know it’s part of the job. Taiwan, on the other hand, is surprisingly daring; it’s the only place where BL actors have actually kissed on stage during fan meetings pushing the bar even further. Meanwhile, China has massive CP fandoms but operates under strict regulation, so romantic presentation is often coded as “brotherhood.” Despite these differences, all three markets treat CP fan-service as professional performance mixed with marketing, not deception!!!
When a CP like Zhe Xu and Mi Jin move onto solo /hetero roles, it doesn’t mean what we saw was fake. It just means the actors are continuing their careers. This CP gave them exposure, opened new doors, and brought a lot of happiness to fans: that’s already a success story.
At this point, most fandom spaces are full of clear discussions about how CP marketing works. If we keep that awareness, we can still enjoy the ship without turning disappointment into hate when the fantasy fades.
So yes , let's keep shipping, keep enjoying the chemistry , but support both the lovely and funny XuJin CP, and also the individual actors. When we stay aware and rational, we can appreciate CP fan-service for what it truly is: part of the craft, and not a promise of real-life love.
