Such triggering topic. Duan Zi Ang is not the best reliable narrator of his reasons to colonize, destroy and to…
Very interesting and valid points here River. The only that I would say is that ZiAng was regarded as a good Emperor, one with the vision. Being cruel and a conqueror do not grant anybody that positive reputation. Even ShuHe recongnised ZiAng qualities as Emperor.

Was Shu He an incompetent ruler? In a way, yes he was, but I want to reiterate that he also never stood a chance.…
Great analysis Yerisina, as usual. The first thing ShuHe did as King was grant a general amnesty, but to whom? People were discontent, is what ZiAng said, it takes a long time for people to build that dissatisfaction. Was he never really accepted as King for the way he reached the throne? maybe because he did not want war with the North? The draught was happening, if he was a compassionate King would he not take measures to provide relief as ZiAng later did? I think he governed half-heartedly; he moved with the motions. He looks quite depressed as well, so probably did not invest the best of his intellect and energy to that project.

XuJin are doing fan service Rainbows - Fan service is define as: A type of performance to entertain and sustain fan interest — just like actors doing a romantic scene in a movie. It’s part of marketing and fan engagement, not proof of a real romantic relationship. A shipper should know this.
I do agree with you that there is something "different" about them. However, this could also be because Zhe Xu and Mi Jin are very candid, and their characters are naturally relax and playful. They are also very dedicated to each other. It does not necessarily mean that they are a couple of gay men.

Thank you for your wisdom River. 1) an actor "cannot be" gay in China (even if he is in real life) 2) They were saying Jin Jin was drunk, does people understand what does mean in China?

Which language do you speak? I speak and write in 4 languages. Maybe is one that I know. There are far too many assumptions in what you are saying 1) That somebody limping is because he had s*x!?, people limp for all sort of reasons 2) Xu was fine, so we are assuming Jin was limping because a "role" he plays in that relationship. Why? The fact that he perform that "role" in fiction does not mean he has that role in reality. Do you remember the Thai BL CPs? Famous case Seng was the CP of Billy, he was in the "receiver" position, the next thing we know is that he was dating Freen, from a GL CP! He was straight as a broom!

It has nothing to do whether they are real or not!! This have to do with respect! Would you like that when you leave your house your neighbors start talking that you must have had a "rough night" with your husband and publish this in social media!? I would hate that for myself and I am a feminist and a LGBTQ+ ally since my early teens. This is just gossips, horny people out there giving an opinion about the private life of people. I can tolerate a bit of naughtiness, not problem, fans are just having fun, but pointed out that Jin Jin, who was so exhausted, it was so because he has too much of the "good stuff", at more than just one level, it does risk their reputation for sure.

Have you not see them? It says that Jin Jin was walking funny because he had s*x with Xu, and they say it bluntly and more awful things too (related to this and also that he was drunk!?). I don't want to link them because I don't want to promote them here. Look for it in X.

Not much romance. The original novel writer and screenwriter is a man (Zhou Munan), and the original target audience…
So glad to hear!!!! I don't mind a bit of bromance, but some romance is a bit cringy because it is forced in the narrative to sell.

A/c to DZA, He saved XSH from the citizens of South Hui. So he meant citizens of South Hui would've have grown…
Yes, ZiAng saved ShuHe from the imminent rebellion of his own people. He was not a good ruler, did not have the skills for the job. Additionally, there was a drought in the region. ZiAng offers first cooperation in the letter that ShuHe rejected. It is also said that when the North troops arrived to the capital there was no resistance by the South citizens
