Episode 4 - what a great episode! This is a fine example of an excellent Japanese BL. A good one will always improve the manga in their most controversial parts. Sexual harassment to the nurse removed - in the manga Kataoka actually touches the nurse back side, here is just a silly verbal banter that Odajima stops immediately. Kataoka is a more sensitive character that in the manga, in the manga he has that angle but here maybe because the brilliant performance by Wada Masanari, a seasoned actor, that comes across nicely. He is constantly alert of Odajima moods and since he decided to make him his family (wife) he took that role seriously. Odajima performed by a young actor Takahashi Hiroto portrayed the emotions of his crossroad and how touched he is by Kataoka free spirit and "good sides" soundly. His vulnerability and sensuality really well portrayed. Another thing that the live improve in relation to the manga, is that we don't know if Kataoka had penetrative sex with Odajima the first time in the car. So that it is left ambiguous and maybe make it more palatable for sensitive people. I was not expecting different as it is a Yakuza love story, but Odajima has felt something for Kataoka, certainly a strong attraction since he saw him for first time. As he has never had sex, maybe he wanted him to be his first time. Some argue that there is an unequal balance of power, yet Kataoka is a man who does not force people so there is something about him trying to play a fairer game that other yakuza members. Then the live show bring a super sensual sex scene in the second ep, fully consensual, much better and loving than in the manga. Kudos to the two main female actors in the series. Odajima mother and the madam of the Yakuza family. Compelling performance by both of them.

Unsolicited feminist rant - I, like most of you, have enjoyed this series enormously. It has been exciting, original, we have been thrilled with the fantasy of a "real life" CP in Elliot/Kipuka.
