Exactly like this. Do you know that not all actors do fan service?. Some of the very top tear actors have clauses in the contracts in which they refused to do fan service. They will promote the film/series but they don't do any flirty stuff or suggestive actions with their co-leads. Some other refused altogether to be involved in romantic films. I am so glad they have managed to reach so high in their career that they can stop this. With fan service, there is much too loose for a female and male actor. Fans get carried away imaging romantic liaisons that do not exist, sometime harming the reputation of the actors, because they filmed at least 2 productions per year some of them 4 per year and they have to do the same every time.

This is true for some of them :-) I was thinking for instance in Park Seo Ham, in the Murky Stream. I think he put lots of weight. I hardly could recognise him. RoWoon, almost the same. I think the actual series was a flop. I did not watch it only the trailer.

I think that was my "fault" because I mentioned BL but I wanted to make a point about the creative capacity and talent in China. Regarding LGBTQ+ people in China we need to make a distinction. BL/GL has nothing to do with the community. And in all fairness because I look at this issue seriously to write an article, in China the community suffer much less violence and repression that in any other Asian country and Western countries too. They were the first in Asia to decriminalise this relationship. The position of China has always been this is a private issue and should not been hold as "the" behaviour for the majority of the population. This has cerated invisibilisation that is never good news for a minority, but as China govern for the "majority" some groups would be less heard than others.
