Ep 7 - I really enjoy watching this series. It is a guilty pleasure because I see everything that is wrong with the production, but in whatever package it comes I love Elliott performance and his character Enigma, his bickering with SWL and his crazy love for SSY. Elliot and Kipuka, put their whole heart into their performance. They are so giving to each other inside and outside set ,and they have an amazing screen chemistry, so everything they do as a CP is riveting. Watching the kiss of the BTS does not surprise me, despite that it is not shown in the actual episode, we know this is what they were doing. Finally a lovely scene between SWL and GT, very touching. Best performance by Jiang Heng in the whole 7 episodes. I wish for him being cast in romantic dramas because he looks the best expressing himself like this. LPE always delivers. And here is when it comes the negative, the dubbing is sub standard but the dubbing of SWL and GT is the worst in this scene. I am glad they put more lively extras in the club because previous scenes placing two robotic people there was pathetic. thankfully they remember to include women! (they could have given them better clothing though). They finally let the "girlfriend" say something, she is an impressive lady so it was good to see her acting. The hairdo they inflict to the Alphas is atrocious. They also should sack the make up artist because the actors eyelines and the ghostly faces are not good. And the worst of the worst goes to: the camera work, what on earth they were thinking of in the office scene filmed behind something with a line in the middle and there is more but I better stop!!!!

Justice in the Dark was caught in the middle of the new censorship guidelines. As we know after Addicted BLs were forbidden but after these there were iconic bromances adapted from BLs writings like The Untamed and Word of Honour the most famous, but also the Guardian and another one. Then the government decided that it won't allowed bromances adaptation from BL material and that was for Justice in the Dark, what a shame!

Zhao Lusi and YuNing come to my mind, Completly different roles and performances in their 2nd drama. Leo and Bai Lu are another adorable pairing that has been a CP in 2 production, and so forth. They are actors, they play characters they can be as different as their characters are.

There has been a number of BLs released in YouTube for instance. Small production companies but YouTube is not allowed in China, still with such a small impact, the gov agency wouldn't bother. However RL and ABO have had an impact so maybe they would tighten the censorship? Let's see.

I think in this case is more related to the loss of reputation of the actors and also to protect them from public outrage. One of the ML was recently persecuted in an airplane. It was even international news. It was awful. The one who is suspected to be married with a child which won't be much of a problem but he has a reputation with the ladies too. Ziyu definitely is a cheater because he publicly apologised, so not denying that one. Releasing all now it means that the buzz would stop sooner rather than later.

You are right to be scared. I think these Sisters Nong have underweight the risks of this production. Most BLs made in China are not Chinese and are registered in Thailand or Taiwan, so honestly, I don't know what's going on here.

It is a wise move to let time pass and wait. I am watching other series in between, so that's fine. To be honest I have lost my initial enthusiasm for this series because one cannot become anxious for a Saturday episode. I stumble in fan service videos in X and TikTok, Elliot and Kipuka are cute but for me is just one cute video of a couple of gay guys of the lots that are now in social media, Not here, not there.

They cannot ban international productions for an international audience. They forbade BLs in 2006? Years back now, more recently, they are cracking down on bromances adapted from damnei (BL) literature. However, let's not believe in everything said in social media about China, there is so much unreliable information. China is strange for us, don't use the same apps, the same platforms. If there is going to be more regulations we would know from more official sources. e.g The ban of "sissy men" in mainstream media was covered even by the BBC, so it was international news. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58394906 (this is a good reading by the way)

I like the series very much but if you ask I think you should wait a bit longer. It does not progress much from ep to ep.

What part is false? Weibo is one of the Chinese platforms, what about Douyin? Anyway, in the international platforms Elliot and Kipuka has more followers and for what I see including X the platforms are promoting them as rep of the series. No need to get aggravated. Li Pein En is an older actor in top mainstream productions (date of birth here is different than Chinese sources) , so it won't surprise me is he has a lot of followers in China. He is also considered very attractive. If I don't recall wrongly, he was the first one in being hired for ABO. Personally, I am a great consumer of c dramas when ABO was announced and despite having watched the series that Pein Un was in, I didn't recognise him, but I immediately recognised Elliot and Kipuka from previous series despite that were cheaper productions.
