So I watched the original this kdrama is based on, Dr Foster, and I'm wondering if there's any point in watching this version? Cos I've read the korean one is too long and there's a lot of filler or nothingness in the episodes, but the original is quite quick and so I don't know if I should bother... I need the opinion of somebody who watched the original first and this one after, and can tell me if it's worth it.
This was really weirdly written and directed. You kinda had to guess what happened in some situations without much information, and until like 2/3 of the movie I didn't have a clue which of the boys she liked or which one of the two boys liked her. Both behaved like they liked her even tho one of them already confessed to another girl (the teacher).
Also the situation with the teacher is weird, come on, they behave like it's nothing but a 17 year old dating a 27 year old teacher is weird, no matter if the teacher is a woman and the student a boy. It's still weird.
The part about denying his friend I ddn't understand, I don't know if it was the subtitles or something else, but that fight between the two friends I didnt get at all.
Also... I dont want to be mean or anything but Wao's actor was waaayyy too flamboyant to be portraying a straight character. He needs more acting classes.
The second half was quite slow and boring. In the end I gave it a 5. It's not super bad but it has a lot of mistakes that seem stupid to make.

Finished it. Hated most of it. Loved this drama from episode 1 to 5. From then onwards it was a sh*tshow. The main characters didn't even have chemistry anymore. Wouldn't recommend to anyone that expects minimum quality writing. (It's not even about cliches, I don't mind them, it was just poorly written).

I'm on episode 7 and it's getting a little frustrating with the FL since it's always the ML going after her all…
Oh my, episode 8 was even worst. The ML keeps going after her and she keeps rejecting him I dont know... For the 7th time? I dont understand the motivations for any of the characters, It seems stupid for him to keep insisting when she's not showing any redeeming qualities, they seemed to fall in love out of nowhere with no connection or anything, and some episodes the second male lead has more screen time than the male lead when you're not cheering for him, so it gets boring. The male lead seems to be rock bottom and then when you thinks it's enough, she rejects him again for the 8th time or another scandal or trouble comes up. This is getting really draggy like they dont know where to go with the story and the female lead is getting annoying (she seems to get angry at him for no good reason, just because she has to reject him once more, but she does shitty stuff and the ML doesnt get angry and keeps going after her) I dont actually know if I'll keep going or if I'll just skip to episode 11. This is such a waste I was actually liking this drama until episode 6 came along and the writers didnt know where to go anymore.
I'm on episode 7 and it's getting a little frustrating with the FL since it's always the ML going after her all the time and her saying and doing mean things to him all the time. I'll admit the drama is funny and some side stories are interesting but it's getting a bit ridiculous now with her avoiding everything after the 12th time. How long do you need to figure out you like him? How many times are you going to headbutt him for no reason? I'm not going to stop because there's little left but after episode 6 it goes downhill. You feel like after 7 episodes nothing has gone well for them and everything is trouble and more trouble and the ML is receiving all the bad consecuences for no good reason. I'm actually feeling really bad for the ML when you're not supposed to simpathize with him since he's egocentric because he's a "top star". I do see a lot of problems with the script. I hope it gets a little better.

Thanks! Now I know I'm not alone in my opinion! I used to like Pi too when I was younger, but as I got older, I realised he practically doesn't have any expression in his face, he's like the same in everything! maybe in nobuta he was actually acting and he had some variation, the rest.. uggh he's like the kristen stewart of japan.
I guess yeah, the fact that it was a manga explains it a little, but still, there's proper mangas out there with proper stories... but anyways, this was not a great jdrama. Subpar writing. Kinda entertaining but with the kind of writing that makes you go, huh? and takes you out of the story. Such a pity cos it had potential.
I didn't like this drama as much as everybody in here is saying, but at least gave it a 7 just for the chemistry…
The mother in law made no sense. She was just like "I hate you and you're not adecuate for this temple" so she was going to do ANYTHING to stop them being together, including destroying the temple she was trying to protect in the first place? That made no fucking sense. In the last few episodes it seemed EVERYBODY, and it was everybody, the main leads, their families, their friends, etc, were ALL miserable just because that old lady didn't want to give up? That's just bad writing, we don't even get a logical reason for her to oppose to their marriage... why would you care about what she thinks when she's clearly a bad person, somebody like that cannot know what's best for a religious temple.
And don't make me start about the brother.... I get "more or less" his motivations, but the things he was doing were ridiculous... how are you going to sell something that isn't even yours? that part had me scratching my head, it made no sense whatsoever. And he was so pissed about not having someone who cared about him but... they sent him to another temple... did the people there not care about him either? they don't even mention who he was with... And the tactics he was using were so useless.... lying about stuff that could be cleared with a conversation. It's just too stupid to even think about it.
And that's not all, the main male lead, considering I already didn't like him since it's Yamashita-deadpanface-Tomohisa, it wasn't better that at first he seemed like a douchebag who only cared about himself...
The only thing that saved this for me, was, on one side Satomi, cos she's lovable always, and the chemistry they had in the last episodes, and on the other side, all the side characters and stories were interesting, even if they don't have clear cut endings.
I didn't like this drama as much as everybody in here is saying, but at least gave it a 7 just for the chemistry the main leads have in the last 3 or 4 episodes. It seemed like it had a lot of unnecesary drama where you get enemies doing bad stuff to the main couple just because, with no logical reason behind it. If you can't write logical and justified drama, then it becomes cheap and it drags me out of the story. I'll comment more under a spoiler.
I loved this, watched it almost without realising it was the whole thing. It was so fun. Yes, you might not like the end because it ends kind of in a cliffhanger, but I'm guessing they are thinking about doing a "season 2" of sorts? Otherwise the ending wouldn't make sense. So, even with the cliffhanger this was great to watch, because you enjoy the whole ride anyways, it was really really funny, and Kim Min Kyu is soooooooooo handsome and cute that I was fangirling the whole time. I realise that you're supposed to pine for the older brother in this, I guess, but I was looking at Kim Min Kyu and drooling in every episode lol He's so cute and I'm so glad he's not really 18 xD Anyways, really funny, totally recommended, yes, it ends in cliffhanger but if you have that in mind you will enjoy it all still.
This was kind of all over the place and was hard to watch, mostly the first 45 minutes. Managed to finish it skipping thru a little. It tries to be over dramatic in a nonsesnsical way. Not one of my favourites, and I pretty much like everything. But it's not horrible either.
Asian Crush has this now, with proper English subs: https://www.asiancrush.com/movie/love-clinic/ Asian Crush…
Thanks for replying anyway. Luckily for me, I just found the movie with good spanish subtitles (on gnula) so I can finally watch the movie. I assumed that if there weren't english subtitles for this, there weren't any in spanish either, but I was wrong.
Sadly, the rest of the world who doesn't speak spanish and doesn't live in USA cannot watch this movie for now...
But thanks again, I'm gonna start watching! :D

So... I live in Spain and it says I can't watch it from my country... is there any other way of watching this? Or the people of the rest of the world are screwed? I'm so curious about this movie!
Anyone know any other websites for english subs except asiancrush cause it says it ain't available in my…
There's absolutely nowhere to watch this if you're outside the US, on amazon prime it says it can't be watched in my country, and asiancrush it's the same. Not even paying. I've been looking for hours. This is really sad.
And I wanted her to end with Tako, but I understood that the flow of the story ment that she needed to date Yukito,…
I disagree completely, I don't think that ending was more real or relatable, I don't know anybody who would do that, even very career driven people. For me that ending was the opposite of real or relatable, they just wanted to not be cliche even when the whole drama was going in that direction, just because they wanted to do a Special episode. I mean, why would she think he would get in the way of her career even before starting dating? Maybe if you date and after a while you feel like that's the case, maaaaybe, but even before dating? Even when, as friends, he's been nothing but supportive of you and nothing has indicated that he would get in the way? For me, that decision was so out of character and so sudden, that it ruined the show. It was unexpected even within that episode, even more considering the whole show.
Also, I don't think many people watch jdramas for the realism, cos they're not exactly very real or relatable, you just watch it for the laugh and so after it ends it leaves you with a smile on your face, not with a frown. But lately they just go for 7 or 8 episodes in one direction, and decide to change it in the last episode or two, so it's more "original" and less "cliche", disregarding the fact that the whole show and the character development wasn't directed towards that. That's just shitty writing,
I love jdramas, but when they do this, I have to stop watching jdramas for a while just so I forget the bad aftertaste the last one left me.
Too bad not many jdramas are being subbed. I'm looking forward to watch this drama.
I think I sent you an email a long time ago with the link to the subtitles? The person who did them just moved to dreamwidth but you can add him/her there and comment and s/he'll add you back and you can access the subtitles. It's not really that complicated.
If anybody wants the link to the dreamwidth account, sent me a pm, I won't put it here.
