What do you mean ruining the man's Life? His Life was already ruined! He was gonna kill himself! I think people didnt understand this movie.... I'm not condoning what he did, but after all the torture both found a reason to live... Was the whole thing extreme? Yes of course it was, but I don't think there was any other way for them to live after all the trauma they both had in their lives...

I expected this to be way better after reading the comments and seeing the rating it has, but it was a big meh. I understand, because this didn't have any big flaw that would make it rate it lower, but it just wasn't good either. Like, they had chemistry, but not super good or exciting chemistry, the story was good and it was interesting to see the struggles of a couple in the bl business that aren't supposed to be together, but it wasn't made in an interesting way, it could have been so much more. Also the pacing was really slow in some episodes, which is something that I can forgive. if. after that, you give me like some exciting moment to compensate, but.... I don't remember any exciting part about this series whatsoever. I mean, the kiss between Aey and Mhok (I think was his name?) was more exciting and had more tension and feeling than the main couple, and Aey and Mhok weren't even a proper side couple in this series... The actual side couple had chemistry and started so good but then it went flat and you don't even get to see a proper kiss between them. I mean, I was glad they had a hetero couple as a side couple cos you don't see that much on BLs and it was interesting... but... it just went nowhere.
The only clearly bad thing I would say about this series was the acting, and not only from Kao but also from other secondary characters.
Also the Aey character was a big question mark, I couldn't understand if he was bad, good, troubled, or what in the hell was with that boy.... all the characters in this series just seem half-assed and not polished in the slightest.
In a nutshell, I would say that when I watch a BL I usually feel excited, or giddy, or happy watching them, and of course sad in the sad moments and anxious when it calls for it. But with this series I felt nothing at all. It was all a big meh, I didn't laugh one bit, or felt excited at any point. Your emotions stay at 50% throughout the whole thing. It wasn't even boring, but it just wasn't..... good. Something that passes without any significance and that it's not even good for momentary entertainment. And I'm not a picky person, as long as you entertain me at some point or make me feel happy, I'm content, but this... it just didn't.
I did wonder why not many people talk about this BL.... now I know.

This was cute and all but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would since the rating is very high, I liked utsukushii kare, old fashion cupcake, or even mr unlucky has to kiss and amagi-kun more than this one. I had more fun with the last two I mentioned, and the other first two made my heart all warm and fuzzy way more than this one. But I understand there's johnnys in this one and as a johnnys fan myself I get the hype for that. But as a story... I don't know.
I mean, I liked it, but all the uncertainty with feelings both from Ida and from Aida was kind of a let down and a drag. I still would recommend it tho, but not as something better than the other ones I mentioned.
I liked both main guys acting tho, they were very very cute.

This was really fun. Makes you smile the whole time. Totally recommend it, there's nothing boring or bad or anything to criticize about this, of course I would have loved a proper kiss but it didn't really need it. Japanese bls just know how to entertain you, make you laugh, and just feel happy while watching.

Imagase had to leave because once he started dating him he realised nothing had actually changed and he would have to be keeping tabs on him everyday in case he cheats again, and he knew he would do it again. Otomo was falling in the same patterns as before and Imagase knew it so he had to part. But once they did of course he still loved him so that's why he was still keeping an eye on him and slept with him again. When Otomo said I'll break up with her he still didnt believe he would change. That's why Otomo had to break up with her and really stay single and grow as a person so Imagase could see that the only person Otomo needed was Imagase.

I do believe, knowing the character, that Imagase would eventually come back to see how Otomo is doing and see that he's not jumping from one relationship to the next and he's grown as a person and decide to come back to him.

I liked it, but felt they dragged the story for too long after episode 10. Like it's hard to find dramas nowadays where the main couple don't kiss until last episode.
I still don't understand the rule, I mean, I understand why he has a hard time with love but why enforce it on everybody else.
Also Hank Wang is straight right? Cos he looked uncomfortable kissing a man xDDD I don't know.... they had more chemistry before kissing tbh...

Was it cute? Yes, very. Was it funny? Definitely. Was it frustrating to wait for 10 episodes for something to happen with the main couple? F*ck yeah, I'm not fond of couples in dramas who develope feelings so late. But it was nice I guess. I liked all the characters even tho they could get on your nerves sometimes.

It took 10 episodes. I have to admit this is a personal record for me, never seen a bl or a j/k/t drama take soooo fucking long.

Episode 9 people. Episode 9 and he still hasn't even admitted that he likes him, much less any kind of contact or anything. They draaaaaaaaaaaagged this to eternity people. Wtf is this. I mean, it's funny sometimes but this is getting ridiculous, if this keeps up he might admit that he likes him by episode 12 and you have basically a whoooooooole show just one guy trying to convince other guy that he likes him for 12 fucking episodes.
Kill me, kill me now.

This is not good if you're not a fan of those couples where one of them is not in love with the other until really really really late in the series. I'm on episode 8 and Pi's still in love with the other guy instead of the main one. This is getting super frustrating. He's obsessed with the other guy that he barely knows and the denial with the main one is getting frustrating.

Even the things that needed to be explained on the first season, werent explained, the fact that there's going to be a second season doesn't justify all the bad writing this had.

Like for example, it started so dark, like two men of the night that looked almost like mafia members, and then by episode 4 it turned into normal university students and the darkness was gone. It was so funny to listen to the song "dancing with the devil", like, Mangkorn was a devil for like two seconds? Also Yai looked really masculine at the start, I guess to sell the image that he was a player with the ladies, but after a few episodes all I could see was a little kid, more close to what isbanky is really like.
The s&m part was promising, like it explained why he was atracted to Mangkorn, since they started with violence, but that dissapeared too. Also if Mangkorn was so atracted to Yai from the start, what was that about with the girl he was making out with on the street, even after they had a thing going on. So many things the characters did didn't make any sense.
The whole arranged marriage thing was stupid as hell. Like why would you say "hey i need to marry someone else, sorry" when you clearly have other options, and everyone is telling you that if you talk to your father the matter is settled. You're creating a problem where there isn't one. It's just bad writing to create drama. And then add the studying abroad thing, another bad strategy from bad writers.
The going abroad thing: so it was supposed to be because he was running away from the arranged marriage thing, even though it was such an easy problem to fix, but then he says that doing that masters degree was something that he wanted to do since he was little? Make it make sense. Either you wanted to go to run away from your problems or you've always wanted to go.
Also just a random thought, but mangkorn's tatoo was so very fake. Tattoos aren't that dark.
I kinda started this because I felt like watching something "spicy" but... the sex scenes... I don't know if anybody thinks like me but the sex scenes I think were supposed to be frantic like 'we just can't stop cos we're so hot for each other' (like kinnporsche), but they came out kinda clumsy and uncoordinated, awkward and all over the place.
I have to recognize tho, that the scenes about yai's mother, and when Mangkorn was leaving, did make me cry.
But overall I didn't like this that much. Watched episode 7 and went to sleep, and I've never done that with just one episode left in a Bl before, I guess I wasn't that interested. I do not want a season 2 of this mess. I watched this bc I liked Mosbank, and they did their best with the script they had in front of them, but this mess is 100% bad writing all over the place. I'm okay with lazy writing sometimes, as in, there's not much happening there, but bad writing with characters that don't make any sense is just infuriating.
Only thing I liked was the cinematography and the music, but of course it was not enough to compensate all the other bs.
I wanna rate it a 5 or a 6 but will go for 7 solely bc of mosbank bc I would feel bad otherwise. I'm guessing that's also why it has a 7.4 rating and not lower than that which is probably what it deserves.

This series was so weird. It's like they had a lot of ideas for the start and then didn't care anymore. Almost felt like they changed writers and director half way through. What I think about this mess:

In the end of episode 8 I was almost like I'm gonna stop watching this. They managed to spend 8 episodes with the main couple liking each other (kinda) and not doing anything about it and by the end of ep 8 Bai Lang was like ok, I admit it, I like you too, and Jin Xun An was like now I'm not gonna be with you even tho I've been wanting to, just because? Thank god it didn't last long tho cos I was annoyed.
Also the father thing. I understand my perspective as a westerner is not ideal, and that things are done differently there, as in, more old school, kind of what my grandparents did with my parents (and I'm 37 so it's really old school), but I also didn't understand the point, cos if your father is against a gay marriage, I doubt beating you and forcing you to beg for days is going to change his mind? Like those points of view are only changed thru experiences and learning, kind of in a more natural way, so what was the point of begging and enduring beatings for 10 days or so? I don't know. Also, I think the timing was off, doing that when the relationship is starting is bad timing. Secure your relationship first and then do that, so you don't make your really new boyfriend worry about the relationship when it just started like days ago.
Also, another thing that was weird is that I could tell Bai Lang was into Jin Xun An because of how happy he was when he was with him but his inner dialogue and the dialogue with his friends before the relationship started didn't show how in love he was. Like I needed more expression of love from him, they needed to show more how he actually wanted to be with Jin Xun An and I think they failed at that. After the relationship started I think it got better.
Also, the kisses. They werent bad... per se... but, I find it funny that the off-screen kisses from andy and yu-jin are better than the on-screen ones. Maybe they were more comfortable after some time had passed and the filming was already done? I don't know.

Now, I just said a lot of negative things but being honest I did like it. Quite a lot. I think it's because the characters were just likeable (Bai Lang was my favourite), nobody seemed annoying (except the sister sometimes) , and dragging things a little bit or beatings aside, the story was cute, serious enough, and there was chemistry there,
I wish for a special or second season or something bc the other two couples were left there halfway thru their story with no ending at all, and it would be nice to see their wedding.

It wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be, but it's probably bc I had too high expectations. It was good quality, it just had a few moments here and there that I was exasperated, but besides that it was good. What I didn't like after the spoiler:

I agree it started strong and finished really weak, I wanted a little more sexual innuendos here and there bc they were present at the start but got lost halfway through, and even tho I did feel chemistry between the main leads at the start, by the end it was all gone. I agree with other people here, in the end he had more chemistry whith his friend, but of course considering the whole story I didn't want him to end with his friend so it was not great. They went all telenovela at the end with the friend having and accident and forcing so much drama there, but oh well. It was nice short entertainment, but definitely not the best korean bl out there.

Had to watch it raw because I couldn't find it with english subtitles. Didn't understand 100% (my japanese isn't perfect) but almost everything.
I felt a lot of situations didn't cause the uproar they did in the western versions. Felt like everybody was like "oh well" about the whole thing and they tried too hard to make it a feel good situation, a moving scene about learning about your spouse; but what did you learn about it if you stay as you are... everybody forgiving their spouse's affair? it's ridiculous. I mean your husband is having a kid with another woman, come on!
I understand Japan is weird about affairs, but I cannot relate at all.
And what was that canned beef thing? At the end it looked like a 90 minutes long ad for canned beef, it was hilarious and not in a good way. Anyways, it's a 6 out of 10 from me, and I'm being generous.
Btw, I didnt expect higashiyama to be the "single" character. I think that character should have been played by someone less atractive.
