Well, this was... not good. I mean, it's not forgettable, but there was so much unnecesary drama... every two episodes there was a new villain, those two boys had more enemies than the kardashians... And the cheap no-communication drama was a let down. Their chemistry wasn't bad, but the bed scenes... I mean after watching a few shows from 2022, they seemed bad in comparison, like they needed more workshops or better directing... why were all their bed scenes in the same bedroom/bed? They could have switched it up a little! And all their NC scenes started and ended the same way, like a script repeated 4/5 times. They did nothing for me. The potential was there but it didn't deliver. Also I loved the second couple, and we know how that ended... Not gonna watch the special episode since it seems nothing changed for those two in the special, which is sad.
This was sooooooooooo freaking cute. There's nothing wrong whatsoever with this series except that it is too short. Great, great, great. I don't know why it doesn't have a higher score and I'm usually very stingy. It's great.
Apparently the sniff kisses are quite popular in Asia. They are being true to themselves, even if it's weird for…
Yeah, Tul sniffing Waan all over was a little too much xD but I guess it's uncomfortable for us because we're not used to it. I've read somewhere that it's very intimate because you're smelling the other person and it makes sense... but I need a little more time to get used to it xD
I really liked this even though I thought I wouldn't because of all the comments saying that this was a let down and that it had so much potential and it failed. My guess is that it might be because I haven't watched UMWA and I didnt have any expectations, and because I didn't wait each week for an episode but binge watched it in two days.
My advice: watch this if you haven't watched UMWA; you can follow the story perfectly well without seen that one and you will not be expecting anything from it and can enjoy it freely. My only two complaints would be that the center episodes or towards the end, they dragged a little the "we cannot confess to each other because of reasons" part but since I binge watched it, it probably didn't feel as long as it did for the people watching it live.
Also I loved that there were like a hundred couples in this, and I loved the Tul Waan story the most: in that last bed scene I was thinking, these two brothers have the same sex drive loooool both can't wait to take their partners' shirts off xDDD
Apparently the sniff kisses are quite popular in Asia. They are being true to themselves, even if it's weird for…
I haven't seen the sniff kisses anywhere besides Thai dramas. Is it really all Asia? Like never have I seen this in any Japanese, Korean or chinese one.
okay i understand where your coming from but like being on the verge of committing suicide doesnt excuse you from…
Listen, I don't know if you didn't read it or ... idk, but I clearly said in my first comment, like the first thing I said is that if you have been through something like SA it's completely normal to not like this film. My comment wasn't directed at people like you who might have gone through something like rape and didn't like this movie. Of course you didn't like it. It's triggering, it might resurface the old "people say rape might be okay" stuff. That's not what I'm saying and again, my comment isn't directed at people like you. My comment was directed to the political police and by that I mean the people who like to feel better with themselves (not having been through anything similar) by crying "it's rape! it's wrong!" and not because they think it's actually wrong but because they know they get a lot of social karma just for saying the obvious and not because they actually watched the movie and reflected on the psychological nuances this movie has. Japanese fiction is great at putting you on an uncomfortable place where they get you choosing something so horrible as rape before death, they love to come up with unbelievable situations where the wrong thing might be the right one. But it doesn't mean it's a bad movie or that it implies that that is what we should do in real life. I think we should appreciate this movie for what it is without any judgement and again, people in a similar situation to yours, are completely justified in not liking it. The rest should see it for what it is, and that's it.
okay i understand where your coming from but like being on the verge of committing suicide doesnt excuse you from…
What??? You clearly didn't understand my post with the comparisons you're making that have nothing to do with this situation. First, I clearly said that if you have had a hands on experience with this kind of thing of course you're not gonna like it. So I consider your opinion on the whole thing different, because, of fucking course you're not gonna like this or consider this fair. Secondly, that film you just mentioned is nothing like this one.
"Because it kinda puts in place the idea that its okay to rape someone if your both suicidal. Like "Oh yea hes gonna kill himself anyway might as well fuck him in the ass without his consent". What? Might as well? Did you watch the movie? Again, like I previously said, it's not like this guy was like hey, I wanna have a last fuck before I go, or like he did this on the regular. He thought bringing out the pleasure of life and letting go of everything else might put a new perspective on him and make Katsuragi wanna live, and save him like he couldn't with his deceased partner. I'm not saying it was the ideal way to go, all I'm saying is that it was probably the only thing that worked for Katsuragi. I doubt Ryoji could have gone to him and ask him for concensual sex and Katsuragi would have said yes of course. So if he hadn't, they would probably be dead in a few days.
Also, you're confusing two things. Liking this film vs. liking what happens in it. Of course I don't fucking like rape in any shape or form, but I can still appreciate a movie that's well done that has rape in it? I'm not fucking glamorizing it, I understand that in normal circumstances (like 99,9999% of the time), rape is not the way to go. I only said that in this movie is well explained how two people that were at the end of the rope might have gone through this experience and it was actually benefitial for both of them. Of course this is fiction. In normal life this wouldn't happen.
If a dumb person sees this film and thinks that it's okay to rape anyone in any circumstance, that's not my fault or the film's. They just wrong in the head. I'm still not gonna take any of what you said to me seriously because, like I said, any victim of rape or SA is not gonna like this movie so my comment wasnt directed at you anyways. So I don't understand why you take such an offense to what I said.
I don't know. I'm conflicted about the whole season 2. I definitely liked some moments, others seemed super draggy, others were not needed.
I personally didn't care about the music career part so the whole performance I skipped. The bed scene was super romantic but it was so slow it bored me a little (it was filmed slow, and then slowed down, my lord). I didn't "feel the love" but I kinda appreciated it nonetheless. For me these 4 episodes could be compressed into 2, and even then there was not much happening. I feel like they didn't think much about the plot, and all the characters seemed way more empty and without nothing really important to say. I was so aware of this because I loved the YiDiao pair, and in all the scenes in S2 it seemed like they had nothing to talk about. Same (but less noticeable) with Kuea and Lian. It kinda tainted my view of all the couples, when I was so happy with them by the end of season 1.
Anyway. It wasn't super bad, but it wasn't good either. I think for some it might have ruined their story a little bit, instead of completing it.
This was cute, but It has some serious problems. First, there's no chemistry from Dao's part beyond episode 3 or 4, he behaves like Kluen is his friend, at some point I believe from his actions that he was going to move on and fall for someone else, then Dao's way of dealing with the problems with Kluen was disastrous, at some moments he's unlikeable. The secondary characters had potential but there was no story there whatsoever except for the purpose of moving the main couple forward; and the physical intimacy ... I mean, I didn't expect much but it was just.... So poor.... So not moving. Yeah, nothing there. The story was cute with all the little moments with the photo, the assignments, the t-shirts.... But I think they needed workshops and some parts of the story were badly written. Still, it's cute if you're not looking for something special and you're bored....
I think the people who disliked this movie, either didn't understand it, or watched it from a privileged point of view (and love to be the politically correct police), or had a traumatic experience in the past. Only in the last case I would understand not liking this, because it might be triggering, but the rest...?
Everybody is like: how can we see the rape and torture and see past it? Easy, we're starting from a point where everything is lost, life has no meaning, and when all is lost and we're about to end things, it might take something extreme to take us back.
People, we're not talking about a person who enjoyed raping people in their free time just for the fun of it, we're talking about a person who is about to commit suicide, that sees another person who is about to do the same, and thinks that the only way to save that person is to make them want to live again. But if you're a privileged person, with no empathy, and who's never been at the end of the rope, you wouldn't understand it I guess. Stockholm syndrome my ass. They both found on each other the reason to keep living, and if that experience is what it took for two people to still be in this world, and not end their lives, so be it. It's better than death. I've made my peace with it. Judge me if you want.
I can't believe what I just saw. So, your boyfriend commit suicide and you decide to torture and rape someone…
What do you mean ruining the man's Life? His Life was already ruined! He was gonna kill himself! I think people didnt understand this movie.... I'm not condoning what he did, but after all the torture both found a reason to live... Was the whole thing extreme? Yes of course it was, but I don't think there was any other way for them to live after all the trauma they both had in their lives...
I expected this to be way better after reading the comments and seeing the rating it has, but it was a big meh. I understand, because this didn't have any big flaw that would make it rate it lower, but it just wasn't good either. Like, they had chemistry, but not super good or exciting chemistry, the story was good and it was interesting to see the struggles of a couple in the bl business that aren't supposed to be together, but it wasn't made in an interesting way, it could have been so much more. Also the pacing was really slow in some episodes, which is something that I can forgive. if. after that, you give me like some exciting moment to compensate, but.... I don't remember any exciting part about this series whatsoever. I mean, the kiss between Aey and Mhok (I think was his name?) was more exciting and had more tension and feeling than the main couple, and Aey and Mhok weren't even a proper side couple in this series... The actual side couple had chemistry and started so good but then it went flat and you don't even get to see a proper kiss between them. I mean, I was glad they had a hetero couple as a side couple cos you don't see that much on BLs and it was interesting... but... it just went nowhere. The only clearly bad thing I would say about this series was the acting, and not only from Kao but also from other secondary characters. Also the Aey character was a big question mark, I couldn't understand if he was bad, good, troubled, or what in the hell was with that boy.... all the characters in this series just seem half-assed and not polished in the slightest. In a nutshell, I would say that when I watch a BL I usually feel excited, or giddy, or happy watching them, and of course sad in the sad moments and anxious when it calls for it. But with this series I felt nothing at all. It was all a big meh, I didn't laugh one bit, or felt excited at any point. Your emotions stay at 50% throughout the whole thing. It wasn't even boring, but it just wasn't..... good. Something that passes without any significance and that it's not even good for momentary entertainment. And I'm not a picky person, as long as you entertain me at some point or make me feel happy, I'm content, but this... it just didn't. I did wonder why not many people talk about this BL.... now I know.
This was cute and all but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would since the rating is very high, I liked utsukushii kare, old fashion cupcake, or even mr unlucky has to kiss and amagi-kun more than this one. I had more fun with the last two I mentioned, and the other first two made my heart all warm and fuzzy way more than this one. But I understand there's johnnys in this one and as a johnnys fan myself I get the hype for that. But as a story... I don't know. I mean, I liked it, but all the uncertainty with feelings both from Ida and from Aida was kind of a let down and a drag. I still would recommend it tho, but not as something better than the other ones I mentioned. I liked both main guys acting tho, they were very very cute.
This was really fun. Makes you smile the whole time. Totally recommend it, there's nothing boring or bad or anything to criticize about this, of course I would have loved a proper kiss but it didn't really need it. Japanese bls just know how to entertain you, make you laugh, and just feel happy while watching.
I think they'll get back together in the end , in my opinion they love each other
Imagase had to leave because once he started dating him he realised nothing had actually changed and he would have to be keeping tabs on him everyday in case he cheats again, and he knew he would do it again. Otomo was falling in the same patterns as before and Imagase knew it so he had to part. But once they did of course he still loved him so that's why he was still keeping an eye on him and slept with him again. When Otomo said I'll break up with her he still didnt believe he would change. That's why Otomo had to break up with her and really stay single and grow as a person so Imagase could see that the only person Otomo needed was Imagase.
I do believe, knowing the character, that Imagase would eventually come back to see how Otomo is doing and see that he's not jumping from one relationship to the next and he's grown as a person and decide to come back to him.
Their chemistry wasn't bad, but the bed scenes...
