I started following him on Insta because he did so well. LOLLooking forward to seeing him in other stuff.
I liked his character too, because Min Woo was necessary for the dynamic within the team. He was one of the mirrors for Young Woo to practice on and grow from. And if you look back at his scenes objectively he’s really not wrong about some of the issues he raises. It’s just the way he goes about dealing with them that is backhanded and cruel. A lot of commenters say he didn’t face any consequences for that, but he got smacked on the head and hit in the stomach by Young Woo… and yes... she leaves him and his fist bump hanging in the last episode... so funny!;). And after all… the Tactician was one of the first ones to really recognize the strength of Wild Card Woo Young Woo! I’m all for giving people second chances, when they learn from their mistakes (or get kicked in the but by the girl they like lol). I lot of people here disagree with that unfortunately. Anyway. Without Min Woo this show would not have been as much fun.
The legal hearings in a court are not all about bullying, rape, murder, property dispute, political fight and…
What some people seem to think are minor issues are a huge deal for ordinary people when they happen to them. To me all these cases were one of the strengths of WYW. Taking autism and disability as it’s main premise and widening the scope from there to all these other social issues was a great set up. Many of these issues might still be tough to discuss in some countries. Some people sometimes seem to forget that they're watching a South Korean show through Western eyes, even if it is a Netflix production. Dealing with these issues through drama is a way to open up the discussion. Anyway... I'm hoping for a second season with the same depth in stories.
I have been watching K-dramas only for about 2 -3 years. Their biggest advantage over US shows for me (apart from…
For me too that's one of the reasons I watch K-drama. And also Japanese dorama (even shorter: 10 eps of 45 minutes... fantastic!). I don't watch American shows anymore (I'm in Europe by the way), because you never know how long they're planning to prolong them. I think Supernatural was my last one... they promised 5 seasons... and it turned out to be 15!! It makes you feel obligated to watch them all... to the point where it's no fun anymore. There's no way a show can stay fresh that way. I don't think two seasons is too problematic though... like in the case of WYW. There are still some stories left to tell that I'd love to see. Young Woo and Joon Ho of course. And her mother. And also Soo Yeon and Min Woo (can't wait to see them bickering, it's so cute!)... And I'd love to see all of them becoming even more of a team... all of them chipping in, so that Myung Seok has time for his wife;) And I'd like to see some more legal cases based on current social justice issues in Korea, because I think that was one of the strengths of the show. But I do hope they wrap it up after that... so that we don't have to feel obligated and can properly say goodbye...
It means he (Joo Jong Hyuk as Min Woo) has done a great job in portraying his role:https://kbizoom.com/extraordinary-attorney-woo-actor-joo-jong-hyuk-people-unfollow-me-because-of-my-villain-role-even-my-family-members-swear-at-me/

Please refrain from assuming whether I’m privileged or not. Saying stuff like “people like you” in a comment section where everyone is entitled to their opinion is just rude. You don’t know anything about me, and I don’t presume to know anything about you. When you need to resort to personal comments in stead of arguments about the drama, or start wishing people stuff, the conversation is over as far as I’m concerned.
This is just my perspective. She chosen minwoo name carefully but written his character poorly. Especially when…
I am sorry, but again I have to disagree. Min Woo's "redemption” (bit of a strong word, I'd rather say ongoing learning process, because he’s not there yet) has a lot to do with Young Woo. I think he admires her a lot, or he wouldn’t feel threatened in his position at the law firm. But feeling threatened slowly turns into respect. It’s just one of the ways how the writer shows us how wonderful, and strong Young Woo is.
Young Woo’s interaction with Min Woo is much less apparent, maybe because of her autism. She seems to give him a lot less attention than we do and seems much less affected by his behaviour (LOL). After all... she does leave him hanging in the last episode with that fist bump;) But he is a part of her circle of people. She says herself at the end, when all of them are round the table, that she is happy at Hanabadara.
Like I said, it’s an ensemble cast: those four lawyers and the paralegal are team that represents all kinds of human traits and emotions. That’s why I think the writing is clever.

Here's mine...
Min Woo wasn’t poorly written. All the side characters are there to reflect different reactions to Yong Woo… as would happen in real life. His reaction is “but what about me…?”, which isn’t nice, but it happens.
His family background isn’t used as an excuse, it’s there to paint a contrast with Young Woo and Soo Yeon.
He wasn’t “given” Soo Yeon. There’s a spark, but they’re far from being together in any way. You give Soo Yeon too little credit… she’s been calling him out the whole show, and she wouldn’t take his bullshit even if they did get together.
Yes people change, for others… and for themselves. A human life is an accumulation of experiences and encounters.
Min Woo’s statement of becoming a fool is his conclusion of self-reflection, even if it is through the eyes of Soo Yeon. It’s a starting point for him. Like I said before… a human life is a work in progress. He'll probably fall back into his old habits from time to time, if there is a season 2. But that’s what makes the character fun. Can’t wait to see Soo Yeon kicking his ass if that happens…
Min Woo wasn’t giving priority. He is just one of an ensemble cast of characters, with Young Woo in the center and the side characters reflecting her. Or you could argue that Myung Seok’s illness got too much focus as well. And Joon Ho was never in the shadows. He is there not just to love her, but to support her and push her a little whenever she needs it all through the show. It’s all there to extract different emotions and reactions from Young Woo. The writer did a great job.
This drama really weak on the character development.
They did, but more within the team setting than individually. You could say it’s the team itself that develops as a “character” into a tight bunch of people.

Sigh... I never said what he did was totally fine. I said I liked the CHARACTER of Min Woo. I said what he did was dishonourable, and you're right... nobody deserves to suffer that. But because there are people like him in society it wouldn’t be realistic for Woo Young Woo to NOT encounter someone like him at her workplace. The writer chose to write a character who makes a terrible mistake, but who learns to respect his co-worker with a disability and work with her instead of against her. There’s your message.
I don’t know what you wanted to happen to Min Woo… that he’d be fired? Or struck by lightning maybe? Another message: when you’ve done wrong you can change your behaviour. There’s a second chance for everyone. He never was a totally bad person. He rooted for the lesbian couple in episode two. He played along with the kids in episode 9. He’s a good son to his parents. He’s willing to reflect on his behaviour based on his colleagues opinion.
Finally… I was talking about the CHARACTER’s function… He is there as an obstacle for Young Woo to overcome. She call’s him Tactician in his face, she air-punches him in the gut, she moves on from his exposing post, she stoically works alongside him. There’s your message for neurodivergent people: You will encounter people like this… Fighting! You can do it

Thank you for not wishing me “a coworker like Min Woo” anymore, like in your previous deleted comment. Although I wouldn’t mind working with people who learn from their mistakes and choose to change. They’re often the better for it in my experience. I guess I’m a forgiving person.

I didn’t justify his actions. I said what he did was dishonourable. I said I liked the character because of his function in the story. Not sure what the good luck is for, but thanks I guess?
