Title True Beauty Spoiler
hwang inyeop is totally overhyped in this drama! i like him, but i think the character of han seojun is overestimated…
Ha, I was not a fan of him either, at first being all over FL (in the most annoying ways) to make Soo Ho angry and jealous, and then when he started to have feelings for her, he was pushing himself where he was not wanted just to split Soo Ho from FL...what a caring person.

I liked the first part of the drama more. I could feel sorry for the FL because of how she was bullied, it got tear-jerking, but also funny scenes. But then when it changed to the strange situations with Seo Joon (I did not have any second-lead syndrome here at all), I got quite annoyed, like how do you constantly get too close to a guy and act all innocent, no doubt Soo Ho did not like it. Plus I did not like the way she treated Soo Ho even later, when they were dating. While he opened up to her, she did these stupid hitting and pushing away stuff, and no wonder he did not feel like having a girlfriend at all. Ok, they were supposed to be teens, but still it felt stupid, like they had some issues going on so they were mature in some aspects already. I was not a fan of FL later either when I got the feeling she got carried away too much by her "beauty" and popularity. It is fine to want to feel pretty, especially when you were bullied before, but acting like you do not want to be considered goddess, but then posing for all the pictures and posting them everywhere and stuff....I felt like she wanted the attention, but then could not handle the consequences. She also kept too many secrets in front of everyone to the point of not being honest at all to no one. The length of the episodes also felt too much for me towards the ending, they could have fit everything into 50-60 mins per episode (I did not need to watch the "oh-so-great" singing of Seo Joon so many times etc.).

Someone told IU that pretending you're on heavy doses of Librium and never changing your expression is "acting."…
I have not watched other dramas of her, but watching Producers (before I dropped it), she had this pissed and annoyed expression most of the time, and here she also has the same expression for whole episodes, so I am not sure if these are the dull characters she always plays, or whether those are her only expressions anyway....

The main FL was so annoying for me (more over-the-top than other over-the-top characters), so I have decided to rather drop it....Maybe it got funny later, but I just could not be bothered watching her scream and throwing hands around her body, and those dramatic faces she did, ahh...

I dropped this after I started to watch the second episode. It started as some kind of action drama (tho I was laughing at the "Slovenian name" they have randomly chosen for this super agent). After that, I could not understand which direction this would have, but I was already super annoyed by Kim Min Jung's character. I just do not like her style of acting and even if I finish dramas where she is, it is just painful to watch for me...

Although I could have liked some of the characters (e.g. the chef Seo Poong), the amount of ridiculous (not in the way of "funny") situations and dialogues they managed to fit into the first two episodes were just too much for me, I do not like overly dramatic scenes and characters where ppl act like it is a normal thing to do. So I have dropped it, seems like another drama with good reviews that is just not for me.

Title Moon Embracing the Sun Spoiler
I really could not stand 2nd ML the older illegitimate brother, he seemed to think he had the right to the FL's…
Yes, I disliked the second ML for that as well, he seemed always jealous about his brother, but c'mon, the girl picked someone else....

I usually do not really watch historical dramas because there is a lot of people slicing each other (and I do not enjoy that part at all), however with this one, I have made one of the very few exceptions and I am glad I have watched it. The story was beautiful, sad (I cried many times), the love story was so touching and the actors were basically all fitting their characters. I was kind of annoyed by the way Yang Myung got jealous of his brother (so they loved one girl, but it was her choice, the king did not push her into anything), because he should have been aware of the things the king needed to face all the time. I loved how the young king knew from the start who he is dealing with, so he made a lot of sarcastic remarks to the villains to let them know he is not naive, he was also trying to be just and not swayed by power. And I do not think there was any king as handsome as Kim Soo Hyun in the history of any nation, but this is not a complaint :D He was great for the role, the way he portrayed a wide range of emotions (which was a lot wider than those of Han Ga In, but that's probably given her character, so I guess she did a good job as well). My favorite characters were also the guard Woon, and the eunuch Hyung Sun (he and the king had a great chemistry, and a lot of funny interactions - e.g. the one with the musical instrument). The child actors of the leads and other characters were also great. The weakest link for me was probably the adult Sul, played by Yoon Seung Ah, I felt like she had one wide-eyed expression for the most part (but I did not enjoy her acting in Panda and Hedgehog either). As for Yang Myung, I enjoyed the acting of Lee Tae Ri more than when he was portrayed by Jung Il Woo as an adult, the way he behaved was not enjoyable for me that much.

Title Good Manager Spoiler
"Good Manager" is a fun business drama with a quirky main character. It also has serious aspects to it regarding…
but it's also funny how he became courageous, because at first he hoped he would get fired for his antics and would not have to do the dirty and dangerous job :D

Title Good Manager Spoiler
This drama had many layers - a serious layer with topics such as suicide, corporate corruption, criminal tactics…
The ending was a kind of uncertain - was Seo Yul going out with Ha Kyung or not? I believe there was attraction between them, so one of the ending scenes when they were going to eat showed how their relationship kind of shifted...but I don't know :)

Title Good Manager
This drama had many layers - a serious layer with topics such as suicide, corporate corruption, criminal tactics to hide the crimes etc., and then you have the ML who starts off as a criminal himself, but slowly turns into a "good man", and helps the others fight for justice, while he does the most stupidest faces :D Sometimes they were funny, but sometimes the way he grimaced started to feel annoying, also when he was overly dramatic. I liked the character of Seo Yul - while he would be basically a villain for the most part, he had his boundaries which he did not want to cross, unlike the other corporate bastards. What I did not enjoy that much about his persona was the way they put importance to film his gestures like punching the table, throwing his hands and fingers in different forms, like what was the point, I can see he uses his hands a lot, but that's enough for me :D The story was interesting, but as with other dramas that are 20 episodes long, 16 episodes would be always enough.

Title Stay Tuned!
This was a mixture of crazy, funny and strange :D The main character was sometimes annoying, sometimes kind, sometimes funny, but that is probably the way she should have been, the story contained some interesting info from the functioning of a TV station, and it had some funny situations (e.g. for me how the weatherman tried to "redeem" himself) :)

Based on the superpowers being tied to alcohol etc., I would expect this to be a comedy as well, but it does not have this tag or genre...

Hmm, I am not sure how to feel about this. I mean with this kind of plot, I know I could expect a lot of bloody scenes, my bad for not enjoying them as that's just me :D But I kind of got bored in the middle, how it went back and forth, and the character of In Gu was not really realistic for me, like in some situations I expected for him to have more fear or not to be such a smart a** all the time. Watching it till the end, probably Byun Ki Tae was the one doing his job the best :D And I liked the last episode, maybe the last 30 mins of it, which were really suspenseful.

On The Good Detective Apr 15, 2024
I started being hooked to this drama probably from the second half of it, when they finally started to get into the bottom of things. Poor Dae Chul and Eun Hye. There were a lot of interesting twists, the acting was great mostly from all of the actors. I kind of believe that the "Good Detective" part is about Kang Do Chang and how everybody is always praising him, but for me the good detective was Oh Ji Hyuk really (Do Chang for me started to be a good detective only later in the drama). I believe Ji Hyuk was able to push Do Chang into some decisions and investigations he did not seem to care that much about in the beginning. So for me the best character was Ji Hyuk, and I also liked his methods (he was not afraid of doing things differently). The most annoying character was for the most part Do Chang's sister. I liked the ending I guess, and I liked how Eun Hye was able to smile at the end. Also it was nice to see some characters turn to the good side, and not just faking it (although it looked like it for some of them at first, but that made it more interesting). I kind of liked the character of Seo Kyung, but I was not sure why she had not shared more information with the police more quickly (especially when she knew she could trust Ji Hyuk, plus she could be in danger knowing things alone).

Title White Nights Spoiler
This felt like Doctor Stranger in the corporate world. Started of interesting, but then it went back and forth…
With the rest of the characters, you would know sooner or later that they are lame, they kept switching sides, but you still knew they are bad. But SeJin was for me the most fake one. She kept siding with her ex-boss, being disappointed or hurt that Gun Woo was suspecting she is a spy, when this is actually how she started and was going behind Gun Woo's back pretty much for the bigger part of the plot. I highly disliked her, she seemed to believe Gun Woo is a really good character, and then she was disappointed that "he is the same as others" and thinks about his family company, so she basically went back to her old boss, but the characters of Gun Woo and Yi Kyung could not be even compared. The actress playing Yi Kyung was cold from the start to the end, so I guess her role was executed well. Uee was the weaker link here for me. Also how Yi Kyung knew how to predict the situations and behavior for the whole plot basically, having plan B for everything, I find this super unrealistic, plus how they knew about every little step of other people. The ending also felt flat for me.

Title White Nights
This felt like Doctor Stranger in the corporate world. Started of interesting, but then it went back and forth countless times, people changing sides because "this side has better conditions at the moment, I agree with them, but then the other side is threatening me, so I am back, backstabbing everyone"...all over again. I have felt like 12 episodes would be sufficient, what makes it 20 episodes long are for me too many flashbacks, you are watching people starring into space, holding a coin, doing nothing, so it has a lot of fillers. Then you have the main girl with which I could not sympathize, because for some reason she was overly obsessed with her boss who was not likeable at all (even if there is some kind of justified revenge in there, she does it also for being at the top of the world, which I cannot feel sympathetic about). The FL wants to help her, then stop her, then stop her even if it means to destroy her, then we are back to idolizing her and helping her...like wtf???? The only character I could probably like was Gun Woo, although not all his actions were positive, he was the most likeable one for me. The other, even if they had some kind of conscience, they just did whatever their bosses told them to do (maybe Gun Woo's secretary was the only exception to that), so their feelings were not important for me when they just did everything in the end. I have finished it just because I was at the 14 episode when I felt like this is enough, but wanted to see the end, because dropping it would mean I just wasted my time without seeing the ending (but I skipped many fillers and flashbacks in the last episodes).
