You are so right on the mature themes! I get burnt out watching kdramas and cdramas and lakorns used to be my go to to enjoy dark themes, but, most of the newer ones are so lacklustre. I enjoy comedy sometimes, but it gets done to death nowadays where every other lakorn is comedy. I wish more period lakorns and dark theme lakorns come out. Another thing missing is good actors. I like only a handful of the newer actors/actresses, they're good looking and cast for just that, most of them cannot act and watching older lakorns you can easily tell the quality of actors has decreased drastically. Scripts have dumbed down dialogue which keeps being repeated. This is most obvious when you watch remakes. The newer ones look shiny but end up losing a lot of authenticity.
I wish they hadn't made a season 2. This was so hard to watch after falling in love with AOS and have it relegated to nonsense plot twists that come and go without establishing anything. Also, anyone else hate that the authors make up a huge threat of the phoenix and it's just killed like in two seconds? Nothing felt like an actual threat cause the writers would just wisp a new magic technique to 'fix' every issue. AOS did not deserve this mess.
Was on ship Robert the whole show and even towards the end I still preferred Pudsorn with him over Indra. With how they matched the pairing, I would have rather been more satisfied if there was no romance in the show. Indra and Pudsorn had little to no chemistry since Indra was pining for his dead wife even till the last episode. This left a slightly odd lingering taste when the ending scene with Pudsorn unfolds and they recite poems about the Sun and the Moon. It kept making me think of how he recited similar poems with his previous wife. I wanted the ending to pair Pudsorn with Robert travelling to France where she wants to learn more western medicine and promising her family to come back as an even more competent doctor. For Indra, I wanted him to finally move on from his depression after his wife's death and start fresh again with a promotion in his rank.
Pleaseee, this lakorn was brought to my attention through youtube, I went to mdl to see the details and then watched…
Mik is a hit or miss for me. I usually don't watch things because he's in it, but if a script catches my eye I check out his stuff. As for this show, it's a train wreck for sure. They tried to put as many pretty people with spectacular fashion sense to please the eyes so people's brains would be distracted by the shiny on screen instead of thinking about the wacko storyline.
This is actually a remake of a really, really old lakorn, if there are any similarities to a manwha then likely…
Oh, I'll look again. I guess the subber never ended up completing the subs. Pity, It was one of the first Pong lakorns and I really liked his intensity in this one.
Wish I could give this one a negative rating for my loss of brain cells. It must take quite a lot of hard work to make such a parody of a show that it can be used as an example of how to waste money, manpower and time (for the makers as well as people like me who are stupid enough to watch it, only redemption for me if that I at least watched in x2 speed and ff a lot during the show).
Like how did they pitch this show to producers? "It's about a crazy SnM lady who goes on a killing spree and has a kill count of 5 by the end of the show, Let's mislabel it as a revenge romance to fool unsuspecting audience and throw in good looking people to disguise plot holes bigger then the ozone gap in the 80s." I want to also ask the Producer Khun if he/she has a lot of money? I would be happy to take some off your hands, it's a better cause then this crap that you have invested in, you seem to like throwing money away, I am more than happy to volunteer as a recipient if it will mean that you don't 'invest' in such projects again and spare mankind from polluting more. Lets go green and save the plant!
I know this is way way late, but I agree with you about Neko. I'm so happy I've found this, and other Thai lakorns…
I usually like to support the original subber on their own platform if they have one, but some site mechanics just make it super hard to watch things. I have put off watching so many shows because of this.
Is there action/magic battles in this series? I see a lot about romance, but if the FL was an assassin, I'm hoping…
The FL gets de-powered in here too. There are generic ML power-up scenes with the help of FL. She stays smart throughout the show, despite losing her OP powers.
lol if you put it like that.. they'll probably change his character a bit hahaha
It would have to be amended for it to be palatable, seeing as they are promoting this as a romance, the ML was anything but. He made me want to choke him to death a bunch of times, I even gagged at his sleaziness a bunch while reading.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really hope they change the plot from the novel a bit (I usually go around praying to drama gods to keep the novel stories intact, it's a miracle that this novel has made me want the opposite).
The ML was a d*uchebag, I have reread the novel a few times and hated him through most of the story, he only redeemed himself very late into the novel and by that point, I wanted the FL to just go become a nun since most of the leads were psychos.
Started off really promising, but then it devolved into an utter mess with the blame game being shifted here and there. Honestly was tired by the end of the show. This should not have been a 17 episode show. The story wasn't enough to qualify for the length, at max, it should have been 12 episodes. All the episodes past 10 were a trudge to get through. Also, Khem was a chore to understand. Her deference to her father was chilling, seeing as she didn't even put up much of a protest when she found out her dad literally committed murder (Kla was lucky he survived). The fact that the fathers disgusting personality not only had no repercussions by the end of the show, but he was sitting in judgement of the couple was a slap in the face of all the viewers.
I honestly had become so jaded with all the new shows for quite a few years now. Some passable shows have come along, but this has totally entranced me from start to finish. I usually never feel regret for the show ending, but as quickly as episode 10 I started to feel like the end was coming and did not want to finish the show! The ending itself let me with wanting so much more!
Hats off to the costume designer, I was in love with sooooo many of the casts clothes and hairstyles. The scenery was also amazing and of course, the plot was spellbinding from start to finish. I haven't given a 10/10 in a while but this show totally deserves it!
ahahaaaa, this one is definitely going into the cray cray pile for being the most dumbest plot line ever in lakorns. From start to finish, it's a wreck. The show has enough stupid people to fill the grand canyon. Don't waste any hours watching this, if you watched one episode, the rest are basically the exact same, the whole show is like a loop, every episode repeats itself. Maybe watch the first and last episode and you won't have missed anything.
I don’t even know where to start. Honestly, I could write a ten-page essay about everything wrong with this…
I have been writing essays while watching on each episode. I don't think I have written this extensively on any show before in the comments of each episode. I think the biggest downside in this show was that the writers/director were disengenious with the audience. We were promised a romance between Jay and Ohm, instead, we got the Meena show. Ohm till the end seemed like her was in love with Meena. Jay deserved better!
There was a blatant shift of the storyline and who the real lead was once Meena appeared on the scene and started…
Oh, would be interested to know what he was tweeting aha! I used to always think that James is very perceptive as all his scripts are really steller, this one however proved me wrong!
