This drama is for mature audiences with knowledge of how manga risqué writing works. Many manga works are full of extreme characters and situations that, when adapted to live drama, can leave a bad taste to some viewers. This drama is one of those. If the drama would have been done without the caricature like theme, it would have been much better. Taking aside the scenes that give the impression that the Hiroto is playing around with Risa, it is basically a common theme drama where rich older guy (with family trauma) falls in love with a childish shy girl that lacks common sense. While together, there are the common antagonists that want to set them apart, too many scenes where the Risa get into absurd situations to be saved by Hiroto coming to her rescue, and finally, a happy ending. Where then did this drama/manga go wrong? The writer wanted to maintain the audience doubting the Hiroto’s true feelings and good intentions for Risa so, their romantic encounters had been interpreted as lasciviousness and taking advantage of a naïve girl, who was not entirely naïve if you take into consideration her inner thoughts. Risa’s naivety was more lack of self confidence and ignorance about loving relationships with the opposite sex. Been naïve on this drama is equated to been stupid, which one is not synonym of the other. Having said all of these, this drama is about Hiroto been deeply attracted to shy Risa and falling in love for the first time. Risa takes an instant likeness to Hiroto and, through caring and seductive persuasion, falls madly in love with Hiroto who awakens the art of sensuality on Risa. Regardless of how the viewer sees their interactions, Hiroto and Risa truly love each other and they get to show that at the end of the drama. Knowing from the beginning that he truly loved her would have made this drama much more delightful and likely to have good rewatch value. Enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?

This is a nice drama that had the potential to be great but the usual lakorn clichés made it unbearable at moments. The leading couple had great acting moments but their chemistry on the romantic scenes lacked chemistry and their love story was incongruent. Although Moei was always in love with Tien and did everything possible to make him fall in love with her, once she succeeds, she becomes insecure and basically forces him to leave her to, later on, blame him for disappearing from her life. After their love for each other is ratified, the story becomes draggy and the male lead became a beggar for love. The last three episodes were full of unnecessary clichés. The story ends well but it lost momentum towards the end. Was this review helpful to you?

Side note: The translation is terrible, but one can figure out what is been said by following the characters’ body language and the plot. Still, there is “something lost in translation”!

The drama Listening Snow Tower (2019) is a good Wuxia, Martial Arts, Fantasy show, but it really lacks on the romance department, especially from the leading couple, unless the viewer is looking for a couple that sustained a non-existent romantic relationship marred by the constant mistrust from the female lead towards her “lover” and protector. There are constant explanations from the supporting characters about the actions from the leading couple towards each other and constant afterthoughts and flashbacks. The story and action elements of this drama are solid, engaging, and very entertaining, but the writer plagued the story with unnecessary death of central characters. Wanting to portray the pugilistic theme as a breeder of cold, conning, and unwavering characters that keep backstabbing the Listening Snow Tower Master, the drama missed the opportunity to create a great love story, since he fell in love with the leading lady at first sight. The leading lady spent most of the drama being stubborn, undermining, and willfully misunderstanding the person that she was supposed to love. Not until the end, you get a short reprieve that allows the viewer to enjoy a nice ending. Overall, if the viewer is looking for a good action show and great supporting actors, this drama is quite entertaining. Enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?

This drama is a great romance drama with Wang Haozhen (as Qin Mo) and Yang Shuyu (as Jiang Wan Sheng) on the leading couple’s role. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and the drama portrays a realistic evolution of love between Qin Mo and Jiang Wan Sheng. They have a beautiful romantic and playful chemistry. As they spend time together, they derive strength and warmth from each other. This drama is well done and a nice treat for romance drama lovers. Enjoy it!
[By the way, Qin Mo is only 6 years older than Jiang Wan Sheng in the drama.]

This drama is not for everyone! The female lead, Su Xiang (played by Chai Hui Xin),Is a wife that has spent three years of her life at home without being properly introduced to society because she's mute. For most of the drama the Male lead, Fu Han Chuan (played by Shu Tong), keeps hurting her and denying his feelings for her in front of friends and family, but will not give her a divorce because . without letting anyone know, he has fallen in love with his wife. The problem is that his actions toward her can be taken as a good example of: There are loves that kill. He is steadfast on his feelings for her and rejects other "better" women's advances and protects his wife from others' wrongdoings, he is overly passionate about her but, without acknowledging his feelings, his passion is emotionally overwhelming for her. It took too long into the drama for him to confess his feelings, making the drama a bit tedious and redundant. Was this review helpful to you?

Even though Moonlight (2023) is a very good miniseries, the subtitles and OST copyrights take away from the flow of a nice story. The leading man, Fei Ming Xuan (played by Chen Xin Hai) is about to marry Fang Min (played by Kay Song) believing that she was the girl that saved his life and kept him company through his darkest time, a case of mistaken identity which he realizes when he meets Su Xiao Xiao (played by Ke Ying). The two friends, actress Fang Min and her stuntwoman Su Xiao Xiao join hands to bring down Fei Ming Xuan to stop his arranged marriage to Fang Min who is in love with someone else. As Su Xiao Xiao gets involved with Min Xuan, she starts to realize who he really is and, after her boyfriend Tang Song, who was using her to also bring Min Xuan down, betrays her, she starts to get closer to Min Xuan and, eventually, they fall in love. This drama was good but, with a bit more time, it would have been better. The cast did a nice job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has very good chemistry that got better once they got together. This drama is nice and entertaining. This drama is a real disappointment compared to all of the other remakes of the Taiwanese original story “The Prince Who Turns into a Frog” with Chao Zhang as Shan Jun Hao/Dang Ou and Joe Chen as Ye Tian Yu. This drama should not be considered a remake but a spin-off. The writer and director turned a nice romantic comedy into a Slap-Kiss lakorn with no redeeming qualities since, after recovering his memory, the male lead becomes a tyrant toward the female lead all the way to almost the end of the drama. Overall, the drama lacks progressive character development, the resolutions came too fast and, even with a happy ending, it doesn't leave a satisfying feeling. If the viewer wants to see better versions of “The Prince Who Turns into a Frog”, skip this one and watch:The Prince Who Turns into a Frog (Taiwanese original story)

This is a nice sequel but the plot splits into two storylines with one having Ning Que protecting Sang Sang after her identity is discovered until she ascends into Heaven where her character becomes almost non- existent and out of main characterization, to the other storyline with Ning Que becoming the Tang Empire’s protector while he and the Academy characters take center stage battling enemies of Tang. The last episodes are wasted by Sang Sang trying to humanize the cold and vicious Goddess of Light with whom she shares spiritual energy until, at the very end, the story gives the impression that Sang Sang is going to win the spiritual battle and comes back to Ning Que. Although Dylan Wang does a good job as an older and “more mature” Ning Que, the chemistry between Ning Que and Sang Sang from the first season is amiss. The first part of this season was going well until the main characters get separated. Now, to wait for the third season and hope that Sang Sang and Ning Que will recover the strength and chemistry that their characters had on the first season. Let’s hope!
