You Are the April Day on Earth (2023) is a miniseries and can be found on YouTube under the captions: “After Two Years of Marriage, My Husband Seeks Divorce at First Sight | You're the Radiance of Night”. The leading couple, Si Yi Han (played by Zhang Ji Jun) and Ye Nan Sheng (played by Zuo Yi), have a cute chemistry but their intimate moments are just sweet interactions and they don’t have great romantic chemistry. There is a good amount of misunderstanding and the female lead is constantly imagining things and getting upset instead of asking the male lead directly. Still, the drama manages to end up with a happy and cute ending.

Being Pampered During Pregnancy (2024) is a nice, fast pace romance miniseries with Xie Yu Wang as Fu Xuan Yi and Li Ke Yi as Wei Yu Xian. A coincidental meeting and a one night stand due to circumstances not shown in the beginning of the drama, the leading lady, Wei Yu Xian, finds herself pregnant with twins. As soon as he knows, the male lead, Fu Xuan Xi, immediately goes to find her and brings her home, saving Wei Yu Xian from a life of misery and abuse from her family. Hence, as time goes by, the leading couple gets to know each other well and fall in love.

This is a nice drama with a storyline that has been enacted by other actors but it is still a nice watch. The leading couple did well bringing their characters to life and, once all the misunderstandings are cleared and they get together, they performed their romantic relationship interactions nicely. The female lead, Su Qing (played by Long Yi Yi) has great medical skills in traditional Chinese and Acupuncture, but she is very naïve and aloof in matters of the heart which makes the romance plot a very slow burned one. The male lead, even without knowing that Su Qing was the woman that he wanted to be with, recognizes earlier on that he wants to be married to Su Qing which give the romance plot a heartwarming feeling as he becomes her protector. Su Qing has also her mischievous ways of turning the tables around on the antagonists. Although this mini drama is not perfect, it makes do for a quick nice watch while waiting for a better one to come.

My Lover is a drama that started with a good premise of a fake niece and uncle that ended up falling in love with each other but the entire drama is more about people bribing them and a revenge plot that lacked planning and execution. The leading couple had a nice playful chemistry but there are no real intimate interactions that could even get close to the given title of My Lover which should be changed to its native title 我的大叔 (My Uncle). The acting is subpar for most of the cast and there is no romantic chemistry between the leading couple.

If the audience is used to short dramas, it will find that, although A Love Journal is a SUPER fast miniseries, it is really entertaining. It is even surprising that, in such a short time, the drama resolves the business aspects in a satisfactorily way and the lead couple has very good romantic chemistry. The leading lady works for a rival company and keeps that fact from her husband which gives way to the appearance of an antagonist from her company. The leads have met before in their high school days and seemed to have developed a nice friendship on that time. Even though the second leading couple doesn’t have the best romantic development, it is cute to see them together as the drama nears its ending. The drama starts as a marriage of convenience but, during the cohabitation, they gradually fell in love with each other. It also has a very nice ending, enjoy it!

Great adaptation of the Japanese shōjo manga series Hana Yori Dango and, to concur with other reviews, the best so far! Not having read the manga or watched the anime, I am not sure if it is close to the original work but, having seen all five drama adaptations (Japanese-Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2, Meteor Garden- Chinese and Taiwanese, Boys Over Flowers- Korean and, F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers), this is by far the most enjoyable with characters that are not over the top and that are more relatable. The drama is fast pace and the amnesia plot, although it was present, got washed out quickly and made the ending seem rushed. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life and the chemistry among all characters was great. The leading couple also had good chemistry. Enjoy it!

This is a cute lighthearted drama that was downgraded by the introduction of needless clichés (unwanted childhood sweetheart comes for arrange marriage, 2 times amnesia forgetting the love of his life, the forced separation: lead character leaves for 3 years before reconciling at last episode, …). The story is really nice and the leading couple had a cute playful chemistry with a few nice romantic moments but everything falls apart when the leading characters started acting differently to their original representation from the moment the leading lady convinces the leading male to marry someone he didn’t want to marry. Although the drama ends with a happily ever after, the resolution took too long and it was more comedic than romantic.

This is a nice drama to watch while waiting for a great one to come only if you don’t mind:
A series full of misunderstandings.
A drama that, although is focused on romance, the lead male is full of justifiable distrust since the lead female is constantly doing things that will cause the lack of trust and then complaining that he doesn’t trust her.
A main couple that has a lot of tender moments but there’s no thrilling chemistry between them.
A leading lady that cannot put her thoughts together to give a reasonable explanation to each one of her actions that were causing the male lead to mistrust her.
And last, but not least, even if the drama has a happy ending, it is wasted on the male lead trying to woo her as if it wasn’t not good enough that he left everything behind to follow her.

“Some Day or One Day” is a thrilling fantasy drama with a really nice steadfast romance that transcended time and space. The actors did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple excels in making the viewer believe that there were really two different characters, especially Alice Ke as Huang Yu Xuan /Chen Yun Ru where her roles were as different as night and day. Greg Han was also fantastic on his portrayal of Wang Quan Sheng/Li Zi Wei. There is also Patrick Shi who gives a great performance as the enigmatic Mo Jun Jie; and last but not least, Yan Yu Li as the antagonist and disturbing Xie Zhi Qi | Xie Zhong Ru. The time travel plot is carried very well, although a little bit confusing at times. The only thing that could’ve been better were the romantic scenes between the leading couple while kissing, most of the time the kissing seemed forced, but they make up with their great chemistry and understanding of each other throughout the drama. This drama is really entertaining, enjoy it!

Review for both seasons together

This is a fairly good drama. The plot had a lot of potential but the storyline between the lead couple had the same elements even though there were centuries in between each existence. The acting is good for the most part but the feelings are not well developed. Zhang Yi Jie (as Hao Yue and Lei Hao-Season 2) and Lai Yu Meng (as Princess Li Ying and Wei Yong Qian- Season 2) had a great storyline and very good chemistry. The first season was more entertaining and the characters were better developed; the CGI’s and the music were great and the action was nice. On the second season, the characters lost depth and luster due to the overused plot. Even though this is not a drama with strong re-watch value, it’s still entertaining.

High Rewatch Value (4 times since first watched 3 years ago. Still a ✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶!

This is a very good drama. The storyline is solid, it has great cinematography, good music, and it offers a wide range of emotions that are found through a good blend of emotional unexpected series of events, comedy, action, and romance within a historical background. . The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and there was good chemistry among the whole cast. The lead couple had very good chemistry as well, but I must say that it was strongly carried by the intense and stoic personality of the Crowned Prince. This drama offers a good range of complex stories and characters that gave a wholesome feeling to the storyline that was not solely concentrated on the female and male leads since each story was weaved nicely into their lives. The drama is entertaining on all aspects. Enjoy it!

Passionate Love (2024) is the somewhat disturbing and fascinating love story of the leading couple, Lu Lin Feng (played by Zhen Zi Qi) and Lin Wan (played by Quan Rui). Their contract relationship is base on a misunderstanding but both of them can’t help it and they fell in love with each other. even though neither one expressed it until they were about to break up for good when she is being forced to marry his nephew. This story and, especially the leading couple, deserved a full run drama; the plot is well written and the main cast did a wonderful job bringing their characters to life. What sets this drama apart, regardless of some disturbing issues in their relationship, is the fact that Zhen Zi Qi and Quan Rui performed their roles magnificently and they have a mesmerizing, passionate, and beautiful chemistry. Their most dramatic scene at 1 hour and 33 minutes into the drama is heartbreaking and breathtaking. Although some supporting cast acting was subpar, overall, this drama is great! Enjoy it!

The Ugly Queen is a farcical comedy representation with exaggerated content set within a historical period. There are some good action scenes and, taking in consideration that it contains a bit of slapstick and dark comedy elements, the drama is comprised of a good amount of ridiculous characters and dialogue. Having watched this drama in iQiyi, it is a disservice to a drama when the translation is clearly done through the use of a translation device without any proofreading resulting in duplicity and confusing dialogues. If the drama is well translated, it would be a much more enjoyable watching experience.

This is a nice and cute comedy romance fantasy in a historical setting. Although it is full of clichés, it has a lot of funny moments and a bit of a dark villainous plot. Although the leading couple has good chemistry, it is Li Ge Yang as Xu Zi Yan that carries on the romance vibe the best. Even though Dong Si Yi as Xia Yu Bing is funny and refreshing to watch, she lacks on facial loving expressions on some of the romantic scenes. The drama is very entertaining for the most part but it has a villain, Xue Mu, portrayed by Liu Yao Yuan which becomes very irritating and insufferable without reason. Due to the comedy aspect of this drama, there is overly exaggerated acting from the cast intended that many times is funny but sometimes can be awkward. Still, the drama is entertaining.

This drama had a great story that went all wrong. The leading couple’s relationship was marred by the constant mistrust of the leading lady toward the male lead. What more did he have to do to prove himself? Also, the lead couple lacked chemistry and their romantic scenes were nothing spectacular. The second lead couple was so much better! The music is nice and the action scenes were well played. The drama’s way of getting the bad guys was great until the last villain, Duke An's, played his vengeful plot against the main lead. SPOILER ALERT: REALLY? Does it make sense that no one could make it clear that Duke An's mother didn’t die on the fire? If the viewer is looking for a nice romance, this drama is not it; if the viewer is looking for a well developed plot and a reasonable sense of revenge, this drama is not it either. This drama will not make the rewatch list; it is one of those to watch while waiting for a great one to come!
