In Blossom is a great thriller, romance, fantasy drama written within a historical setting. There are some gory scenes, necessary due to the nature of the female lead’s profession, very detailed and smart murder investigation with logical deductions and conclusions that give us glimpses of the leading couple’s strong and intelligent characters. There are very well done action scenes and bloody tortures coming from the antagonist and his henchmen, mysterious and complex characters that help shaped the validity of the plot, a fantasy element that, although it was interesting and the leading actress tried her best in her characterization of Yang Cai Wei I, it is true that the fantasy element would have worked better if they would have chosen an actress for the real Yang Cai Wei whose body was anatomically closer to Ju Jing Yi. The cinematography was well planned and executed with glimpses of Gothic elements and the cast did a good job bringing their characters to life. In the romance department, it would be right to say that it is more about a soulful than a physical connection. Pan Yue, exceptionally portrayed by Liu Xue Yi, is a man with great moral character, integrity, and above all, a man that steadfastly loved the souls of his woman. Ju Jing Yi did great portraying her character as the infatuated and self-centered Shangguan Zhi and she tried her best portraying Yang Cai Wei, but the Ju Jing Yi, although she captured the awareness and ability to express the intelligence of Yang Cai Wei, she didn’t get the body language right. This might have been due to the fact that the casting director failed to recognize that it was just a face swap, not a whole body swap, and Ju Jing Yi’s body is too frail looking compared to Zheng He Hui Zi’s that played Yang Cai Wei in the first two episodes. Besides this oversight, which was just a bit odd, the drama is an excellent thriller, with a heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking steadfast romance, and a very pleasing intellectual connection between the leading couple. The supporting cast did very well and provided side stories that gave mystery and depth to the story. Enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?

Wife Above All is a miniseries set in a historical era that tries too hard to give the audience a comedy, action, revenge, and romance plot but it does not deliver any of these genres properly. The female leads are the dominant characters in the story and the male leads, which got married with ulterior motives, go to a process of learning how to become the right husband for their respective wives while battling a court antagonist, diseases, lies, and revelations. The drama is not well written for the main characters and one of the couples, Mo Jing Yu and Yun Zi Long , even after they supposedly fall in love and are willing to die for each other, end up been separated at the end in just an amicable and nonsensical way. The second couple, Mo Ban Xia and Qin Chong Lou, had a better storyline and it was nice to see them falling in love and supporting each other. The only well done part of this drama is the insightful and comedic side story at the end of every episode. Was this review helpful to you?

As much as I wanted to like this drama, there are too many ridiculous, illogical and nonsensical scenes that made this drama unbearable. Although the drama has a seemingly cold male lead, his character is truly soul-stirring, loving, caring, and the most understanding of them all. The female lead, under the pretense of been a feminist, comes out as selfish, shallow, and unable to fully love the male lead. As a detective type drama, the leading couple has smart deductible thinking and good chemistry; as a romantic drama, it’s dull and tedious to watch. Then the last episode tops it all with the most absurd twist that leaves the viewer frustrated and balked. Was this review helpful to you?

Who Was the First to Fall in Love (2025) is a nice rebirth revenge and romance miniseries with Yin Yi Bo (as Shang Yan) and Gong Fang Ni (as Ruan Zhi Wei) in the leading couple’s role. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had very good rapport and romantic chemistry. There are some cliché decisions that the female lead takes that are irrational but the writers seem to believe that it is pleasing to their audience, but it is not something that truly affects the drama’s outcome. Overall, the drama is entertaining, at least to see the lead characters together. In the meantime, this drama can be found in YouTube under the caption: “She once doomed him to death—reborn, she saves him instead. Drama title: Yu Ni Chun Se is a cute miniseries with Wang Hang (as Xie Yanning) and A Shang (as Su Wanwan) in the leading couple’s role. The plot is a nice and lighthearted one about two people that fell for each other during high school but get separated due to a scheming third party. They meet again after 8 years and; this time, the male lead is determined not to loose the female lead again. The cast did well bringing their characters to life but, the leading couple lacks in the romance department. It is difficult to feel the chemistry and the female lead plays the push and pull game while teasing the male lead constantly. Overall, if the viewer is looking for something lighthearted, this is a cute drama to watch. In the meantime, this drama can be found on You Tube under the caption: “My 8-year crush CEO saw me blind-dating, confessed madly in jealousy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPAyvrb5Uvw)” or “【全集FULL】《予你春色》| ENG SUB | 一航&阿尚#薄荷听书 #cdrama #latest #热门短剧 #都市 #重生 #逆袭 #现代 #甜宠 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6-ChfDtJFY)”

Limited Engagement (2024) is a romance drama with Chen Si (as Gu Mo Shen) and Wang Yun Yun/Cai Cai Yun a(s Su Mian) in the leading couple’s role. The drama is not really a romance drama; it is Su Mian’s revenge against her father for betraying her mother and her path to be with Gu Mo Shen. Su Mian navigates her relationship with Mo Shen through prevarication in order to conceal the truth or avoid committing to a relationship because of her past experiences. Mo Shen falls in love early in the relationship and is willing to do anything to protect her. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life but the writers forgot give the main lead’s relationship a real chance to develop the romance plot wasting Chen Si and Wang Yun Yun’s opportunity to show their romantic skills. The drama ended up leaving the audience expecting romance and just gave a revenge storyline with no excitement.
