Oh yes, one of my friends is a stan of one of the actors I dislike. I even watched his movie with her just so I can understand the hype around him. But man, I really don't get it. He really does nothing for me. He kinda looks like my Chinese neighbor when he was younger, just an average looking dude, so I don't get why many think he's hot. And he's huge globally. I would get eaten alive by his fans if I dare criticize him. Hahaha. And then there's another actor I also dislike. I just don't understand why he's so famous because I think he has the acting range of a potato and he doesn't seem like a nice person in real life. But again, I don't say anything negative about him on these forums. I just avoid his dramas because I can't stand watching him.

He is getting major attention from fans globally that those who find him "lacking" are going out of their way to declare their distaste for his performance and looks. I can never understand that mindset. I have disliked characters and actors too but I don't go around telling people, especially those who obviously like them, that they should dislike them too. It's like they're trying to recruit you into their cult or something. lol

He does seem like a nice guy. In one fan video, I saw him chase after a letter from a fan that got blown away. I also saw him opening letters and reading them.

We don't really know what the mirror does yet. My guess is it contains a fragment of Mo Li's spiritual power and he was able to glean from it that three gods will be reborn, including Mo Li himself. The real divination was done by the Turtle because I assume only he has the power to do so.

Some of the songs from these soundtracks are very similar-sounding though. It's like the melodies and instrumentations are just recycled. But there are dramas that have unique soundtracks and musical scores, those stick with me. What I find funny is almost every soundtrack I like includes a song from Liu Yuning. That man doesn't only sing like nobody's business, he knows how to pick songs.

Because Bai Xi came back to life. He somehow found out that she died and was revived by a powerful god, who happened to be Fan Yue's god form. That made him think he found the right girl.

I think the Turtle lied to him. The third child was already born and that's Chong Zhao. He might've said that to mess with Zheng Yu's plans. He also probably made up the story that he had lost a significant amount of his spiritual power so he could no longer do a third divination to delay him.

I'm considering taking a break for now so I can watch all four episodes tomorrow.

It was only rated by 47,000 users, which is less than half the number of users that rated Flourished Peony at 130,000+ and The Blossoming Love at 9,000. There's a chance that it'll get a higher rating or a much lower one when the numbers increase. But personally, I don't trust Douban, it's a cesspool of rabid fans only voting for their favorites and downvoting competing dramas, so I wouldn't consider it credible. It's just like MDL and any other site where the ratings can be manipulated depending on how popular the actors are.

4K is better. It's much clearer than the 1080p version.

I can't argue with you about ratings and which dramas are topping right now as I'm not up to date with that and honestly, I couldn't care less. But this I know, the drama is trending on Weibo and Douyin, with the main leads currently sitting at the number 1 and 2 spots of most popular characters on Douyin and they're often found on the hot search list of Weibo. Both characters are on the Vlinkage top 10 as well the last time I checked. So if that's what you call a disappointment and a flop, then it's great to be a flop! Ao Ruipeng is a relatively new actor and his breakout role was Lei Wujie from The Blood of Youth, which is a costume fantasy wuxia drama, so I don't know why you said that he does best in modern dramas when his modern dramas had low ratings and hardly got the attention of viewers. That alone makes me think you don't really know what's what. Then there's the fact that Ruipeng's number of followers on social media platforms have increased significantly in the last few days. Further proof of his newfound fame is his studio releasing a statement regarding safety concerns and precautions for him, his staff, and film crew of his current drama because fans have been camping around the set, waiting to get a glimpse of him and causing a disturbance. I've seen videos that prove this claim. So if this drama is such a disappointment and fans are not captivated by his screen presence as a demon king or his chemistry with Bai Lu, why would he be enjoying such popularity these days?

I don't hate or like Fu Ling. I just think there's more to her character than just some psycho going on a killing spree, but I also agree with you that she has made her bed with her choices. She may have grown up in an environment that forces her to be brutal and kill for survival, but she didn't have to enjoy killing so much to do so. One good example I can think of is Gu Xiang from Word of Honor. She grew up in a kill or be killed environment hence she lacked common decency or understanding of the value of life. But she didn't kill indiscriminately. She only killed those she considered a threat. She didn't enjoy it, she just thought it was a natural reaction to potential danger. But then again, Gu Xiang was raised by Wen Kexing who treated her like his beloved little sister. So she grew up knowing what love is while Fu Ling never did. Perhaps that's the real reason why she kills. She's filled with hatred and doesn't know the first thing about loving someone or being happy. Even her feelings for Chong Zao is askewed because she doesn't quite know how to make of it. So I can't really judge her for now, she's a complex character. I'm waiting to see how her story unfolds.

Ruipeng did make a joke once that he was probably the fourth guy who took a photo with her in an iQIYI event. She laughed and admitted that he was the third. lol
