Yes. I didn't understand a thing. 🤣 Most of their promotions were dependent on social media platforms. No variety shows, no magazine shoots. It's like iQIYI were just banking on it being a hit because it's Bai Lu. They did the same thing with Mysterious Lotus Casebook. They barely promoted that drama and just hoped Cheng Yi's popularity would carry the show. Thankfully, they were right. They're so stingy! I hope they'll do a variety show appearance after at least. But I would really like a concert. I'm not sure if that's still a thing in China. I remember they used to do that for dramas that become hits.

Well, they're not wrong. She can indeed tame him. 😂 I've seen him goof around with Zhao Lusi but she seems more like his kid sister that he likes to tease. He seems afraid of Bai Lu for some reason and doesn't want to disappoint her like a naughty shih tzu puppy who adores his owner. 🤣 I'm sorry, I just compared Ruipeng to a dog! 😅

Not sure. Zhao Jinmai's Drifting Away which premiered recently is already nearing 10k. It's now the most popular drama on iQIYI China. Moonlight Mystique is only second. Maybe it really has something to do with the genre.

Zhao Jinmai's new drama is on its way to 10k and it just premiered. But I think it's because it's not an idol drama, so it's aimed at a wider audience.

I got that information from the international Instagram account of iQIYI so it's definitely not exclusive to China. I'm just not sure if it applies to all countries, though.

He was also dubbed in The Blood of Youth. They gave him a youngish sounding voice because his real voice sounds too masculine and mature for that role. His real voice sounds very manly.

The actresses usually wear platform shoes and then they make them stand on additional platforms so their faces are closer to each other when they kiss. In Ruipeng's kissing scene with Li Landi for Coroner's Diary, they made her stand on a platform so she could kiss him without tip-toeing. The director had to yell cut and jokingly complained about his height because she could hardly reach him. 😂

I believe Bai Lu is wearing heels here but their height difference is still pretty big. I wish dramas would stop making the girls stand on platforms to make them appear taller next to their leading men. I kinda like it when the girls have to tiptoe and the guys have to bend for a kiss.

Ruipeng's Coroner's Diary might be released late this year. He'll be starring opposite Li Landi. That depends on whether they can get the distribution license within this year, though.

Oh, that must be it. Those are usually web dramas so maybe they have less strict censorship. The idol drama I was referring to is Accidentally In Love. It was a relatively short web drama that was released on Netflix back in 2018. The episodes were around 24-30 minutes long.

Most likely censorship because the first idol C-drama I watched back in 2018 had uncensored kissing scenes that left me shocked. That was my first C-drama too and it led me to believe that C-dramas were more open to kissing scenes. Boy was I wrong! Turns out it was not the rule but one of the exceptions. lol

I'm confused too because the first idol drama I watched had intense kissing scenes. I was shocked because most Asian idol dramas have very tame kissing scenes to practically none.
