Perfect Match will be available on Netflix worldwide, I think.

I also got bored when they introduced the love interest and I was watching that on an illegal site since I don't have a subscription to WeTV so it wasn't exactly convenient. Blossom is on Netflix and it's relatively shorter.

So what is everyone watching next?
I still haven't seen Blossom so I'll check that out. I also need to finish Guardians of the Dafeng. I had to put that on hold because I no longer had time to juggle two dramas.

Its just personal preference. The main CP is not bad, but for some people they watched it for the second couple…
This! I also like the second couple. Heck, I love Dai Lu Wa as Fu Ling. I never hated her character because I was waiting how things would turn out. If written and acted well, she could definitely be redeemed. I also never thought of Chong Zhao as a useless and annoying character because his earlier personality actually reflects that of his origins and divine mantle. And I never complained about Bai Shou's arrogance and brattiness or Ao Ruipeng's emotionless portrayal of Fan Yue because I thought maybe there was a reason for those things. Turns out I was right about these four characters. Fu Ling had a very good reason for doing the things she did, Chong Zhao is the Hidden Lord Mo Li so his attachment with Bai Shou was merely a continuation of his obsession with Xingyue. Bai Shou went through significant character development and Fan Yue had every reason to act cold and distant. But when faced with death and the idea of losing Bai Shou, he broke down, showing considerable anguish. Ruipeng also proved he has the acting chops and "chemistry" with Bai Lu as Jingyuan. Some people have taken back what they've said about him. lol Sometimes it doesn't hurt to keep an open mind.

The best xianxia in my opinion in the terms of acting and delivery is Love & Destiny. Nothing, I mean, nothing…
One of my favorite Chinese actors is Wang Kai because I fell in love with his role in Nirvana in Fire, and Tony Leung is one of my all-time favorite thespians. Older actors are more my type actually. These pretty boys are just eye-candy. I love them for their youthfulness and personality.

I will give it a try if I have the time. I have so many pending dramas right now I can't keep up! lol

I've said this before in here, but I cannot put emphasis on how much I really love that they used the word "æ„›"(Ai)…
I think it's an East Asian culture thing. In Japan, they also prefer to use "suki" which means like instead of saying, "aishiteru". In Korea, they would often say "johaeyo" instead of "saranghae". It's because there's a difference in the gravity of those words. When you say "aishiteru" or "wo ai ni", it has a more intimate and deeper meaning. They only say that when they really really mean it.

I'm not overly fond of melodrama or romance, and that is why I tend to avoid xianxia. I dropped Immortal Samsara and Love and Redemption even though I love Cheng Yi. I couldn't get through Love You Forever although I also like Tan Jianci. And I don't get the fascination for Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. It's just not my genre. But I do like a good high fantasy story so I give xianxia dramas a shot from time to time to see if they catch my fancy.

I'm on ep 6 and trying really hard to keep going because I like Bai Lu. I really don't like the cinematography…
If you find it nonsensical, then it's not for you. Different strokes for different folks, I always say. I suggest you find something else to watch because it will only stress you out.

Whenever I read comments about how many times Fan Yue dies, I can't help but chuckle. I'm guessing these people haven't seen Supernatural and known the Winchester brothers. lol No shade, I just find it amusing.

Title Moonlight Mystique Spoiler
I thought this was related to the other two shows (eg; last immortal and ancient love poetry)? The backstory was…
The Jingyuan that saved Bai Shou was half of his divine mantle while the other half went into Fan Yue when he was born. He tore his divine mantle in half when he died because he searched for Xingyue's mantle. This half found a young Bai Shou and saved her along with her sister. It finally joined the other half in Fan Yue when he fell off a cliff at 15 years of age and that's why he suffered from amnesia. It also explains why Fan Yue suffered another amnesia years later and became Mumu. Jingyuan explained all this when Bai Shou asked him and told him that the one she loves is Fan Yue and not him. The gods never truly die, they are always reborn unless they are completely killed by the divine bow.

I am not big on xianxia or romance for that matter. In fact, I don't get why the most popular xianxia dramas are well-loved and I had to drop most of them even though I'm a fan of some of the actors. The only xianxia I enjoyed was Back from the Brink for its quirkiness, but the writing in that drama isn't exactly the best imho. This, however, has gripped me from start to finish. The plot progression was a bit slow in the beginning although I wouldn't call the pacing slow either, just the development of the plot and the characters felt slow to me. But it still piqued my interest so I kept watching. The moment it picked up though, it was like a freight train! I don't know if I can give this a perfect 10 because I don't just give that kind of rating very easily. But it's definitely up there with some of my favorite C-dramas. It's hovering between a 9 or a 9.5 as of the moment but I'll make my final decision after I've written my review. Sometimes my ratings change after I've sit on it for a while.

I wasn't one of those people. I was always pretty neutral about them and had grown to love Dai Lu Wa. That girl…
She does have the charisma of a female lead and she's effortlessly beautiful. I've said this before, she reminds me of a young Ming Na Wen and I loved Ming Na Wen when I was kid. She was Chun Li and the voice of Mulan, after all. I hope to see her in future projects.

The first clue tah FL is bow should be that she is good in archery. That fire bow he is using. No one got it.…
To me, the biggest clue is the design of her bow. It looks very similar to Xingyue's bow. I wondered about the resemblance. At first I thought the bow shown in the intro is the same one that Fu Ling uses. It makes sense now.

Now I understand why they had to make Fan Yue seem cold and unfeeling and Bai Shou arrogant and cheeky. Jingyuan was the cheeky one and Xingyue was the tsundere. They basically exchanged personalities. 😂

Yeah this is a sure thing I want
They are trending on Weibo and Douyin. Moonlight Mystique is the second most popular drama in China right now. Second only to Flourished Peony but it currently sits on the number spot in global rankings. Ao Ruipeng is now a certified breakout star, and Dai Lu Wa is being praised for her performance. On VLinkage's most popular characters, Bai Shou and Fan Yue are at number 2 and 3.
