In a state of perpetual exhaustion

I very rarely support a CP as I'm not really into romance and more into BL or bromance. I would like a hetero…
They get along so well. I heard she handpicked him to be her leading man in this drama. I was wondering how Ruipeng got the gig because he's relatively unknown compared to someone like Bai Lu. Maybe a second male lead in her drama but never her leading man. It makes sense if she requested for him to be her ML in this. I'm glad she did because I like them both so I'm just happy to see them together in this drama.

Everyone is so dang good looking in this, i have to pause sometimes and just gape at the ML because he's a combination…
I very rarely support a CP as I'm not really into romance and more into BL or bromance. I would like a hetero pairing here and there, but rarely become a fan. The last time I shipped a CP was Zhou Ye and Hou Minghao in Back From The Brink. They were the perfect pair! And now here I am again. I'm so sorry, Zhang Linghe, I like you but I am officially shipping Lulu with Ao Ruipeng. ๐Ÿ˜„

I just saw someone gave just 1 star for this drama, is this so bad or am i being fooled๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Sorry if there…
I did a little digging. It's actually not a new account and the username does seem familiar, I forgot where I saw it though. But I did notice one thing about the review. It looks like a template for negative reviews of historical dramas, which is weird since this is a fantasy drama (xianxia) not your typical historical drama. The complaints are too general. It didn't criticize certain aspects of the drama, making me think that the author didn't really watch it. Another weird thing I noticed is the author only submitted two reviews to this site, the other one got a perfect 10, but both dramas they reviewed are marked as "dropped" instead of completed. The account doesn't seem to be active either even though it was supposedly created more than 2 years ago. It seems to me that it's a dummy account or a second account created specifically to upvote or downvote certain dramas.

Somebody here mentioned that this drama is giving them The Beauty and the Beast feels. I'm inclined to agree. In fact, I think that Fan Yue had a traumatic childhood and was somehow cursed. He needs the Desireless Stone and someone who can unlock its powers to get rid of the curse. He only plays at being cold and distant or might've become like that because of his past traumas. Predictable but I must admit, I do like this trope. lol

The man in the hidden sea, what's his name?
Most likely Jing Yuan/Tian Qi, Fan Yue's god form in his previous life. The role was portrayed by Liu Xueyi in Ancient Love Poetry. But in this drama, I don't see the actor in the credits yet. I would like to know who plays him.

I think itโ€™s a little bit all of the above. But now as things are starting to shift and she just experienced…

Yes the one who save her and her sister is Jing Yuan (Fan Yue's god form), from what I know he lost all his memories…
This! He is known as Tian Qi in Ancient Love Poetry.

Fan Yue's voice is obviously dubbed by someone else. It doesn't even match ARP's face. Lol.
His real voice is actually deeper and more masculine. He was dubbed in The Blood of Youth to give him a more youthful sounding voice since he plays a teen there. I think they dubbed him for this role because his line delivery could use some work. In his last drama, he was also dubbed using a much deeper sounding male voice and it threw me off at first as well. But honestly, I've been watching C-dramas with bad dubbing for so many years now that I don't care anymore. I watch with English subs anyway. If I were a Mandarin speaker, it would've driven me nuts for sure.

I gotta hand it to Ao Ruipeng for effectively convincing me that he's a cold, domineering, red flag-type of male lead when in real life, he's a fluffy teddy bear. lol It's kinda unnerving seeing him like this as I still think of him as the adorkable Lei Wujie from The Blood of Youth. But then again, in his last drama, Hero is Back, he did play a dual role there and one was an evil entity. I suppose he can play the baddie too if he wants.

I knew somebody was going to mention that scene. lol
Oh yeah, he played a tsundere there too. I had to drop that drama, though. But it's true that he can pull off the cold and brooding type pretty well even though his real-life personality is the opposite of that.

I've been looking forward to this drama ever since I saw his styling as Fan Yue. It's his best look to date for sure. He's no longer the dorky and awkward Lei Wujie but hot demon god Fan Yue.

I love Bai Lu and I think the plot is very interesting. The only thing that bothers me is the BGM and OST used…
I don't put too much attention on the background music anymore because many idol dramas have been doing the same thing. My only pet peeve is when they make the music louder than the dialogues.
On Moonlight Mystique Jan 7, 2025
Frankly, I'm not overly fond of xianxia. The last xianxia idol drama I liked was Back From The Brink because of the chemistry between the two leads. This is giving me the same vibes in terms of the impact of the main couple on me. Certainly the best looking couple in C-drama since Zhou Ye and Hou Minghao imho. So far so good. The plot is progressing pretty quickly. Hope they keep this up.

Yue Mi and Tian Qi never had a romantic relationship. Yue Mi harbored a secret love for Tian Qi, who was in love…
Interesting. So basically, Yue Mi's love for Tian Qi will finally be returned in this lifetime and Tian Qi will be able to make it up to her. Thanks!

I understand that Bai Shuo is a reincarnation of Yue Mi and that Fan Yue is also a reincarnation of Tian Qi, which are both characters from Ancient Love Poetry. For those who watched Ancient Love Poetry, can you please summarize the relationship between Tian Qi and Yue Mi? I didn't watch that drama so I didn't quite understand Fan Yue's statement regarding Bai Shuo's eyes resembling those of another he clearly holds dear.

Why what's your problem with him? He's good looking and can act
It is subjective. I read a comment a few days ago saying Dylan Wang is an average looking Asian dude. I'm Asian with Chinese roots and I can honestly say that Dylan Wang will never be average looking in Asia, let alone China. Average is ordinary so it means I'd be able to see someone who looks like him walking around my neighborhood. But I don't and I doubt someone does. Ao Ruipeng is the same, he has a very distinct look that is not common in Asia, people who have similar features are usually of mixed race like half-American or something. And mixed race folks like that are usually considered more attractive. Not to mention he's about 6'3. That's like basketball player height in Asia.

Love Liu Yuning too. Definitely my favorite Chinese singer! And yes, Bai Lu is really pretty, she and Ruipeng make a lovely couple. I think I will like her pairing with Ruipeng more than with Zhang Linghe and I also really liked them together.
