In a state of perpetual exhaustion

Why what's your problem with him? He's good looking and can act
Ao Ruipeng is around the same height as Liu Yuning, almost 6 foot 3. He's actually a favorite of mine. Been a fan of his since I saw him in The Blood of Youth. Hope he does well in this drama. This is his biggest role and project to date and he's paired with no other than Bai Lu, one of the biggest stars in China.

Also on china the drama gets a good praise for the styling and make up and CGI those are just haters spreading…
That's why I asked the question here. And I thought C-ent couldn't get any more toxic. I am amazed at how low some people can get for the sake of competition.

I don't usually believe rumors. But I want to fact check. That's why I asked the question on this site. I know there are people like you who know better. Thank you again.

Ahh yes. I know that dramas are previewed by the censorship board, it's a necessary step for them to obtain their distribution license. Thank you for answering. That's all I wanted to know.

It's not about the negative reviews, it's the fact that the report claims that people have seen it and are writing their reviews. I wanted to know if it's possible for people in China to see the drama in advance. I know that there will always be people who would review bomb dramas with actors they dislike or don't support, but this is the first time I heard someone claiming that people have already seen the drama.

Thank you! That's what I wanted to know. That report is so irresponsible, claiming that people in China have already seen it when previews are not even being done there and that the early reactions are overwhelmingly negative.

So it's true that some fans have already seen the whole drama? I asked because I have never heard of previews for C-dramas before. How did they even get to watch the drama?

Is that real? As i see in Weibo the drama is quite doing well and getting good attention and reviews!
I don't know. That's why I'm asking if early screenings are common in China because the drama hasn't even started yet. I know they're previewed by the censorship board but I've never heard of early screenings for critics, press, or test audiences. I honestly don't care if the reviews are good or bad because it's me who's going to be the judge, but I dislike it when they falsify reports of early reactions just to tarnish a drama's reputation even before it comes out. It's one thing to hate on a drama and review bomb it because of competition and rivalry but it's another to spread false rumors. That's the lowest of lows.

I have a question. If anyone can enlighten me, I'd appreciate it. I just saw a video reporting that the drama didn't garner favorable reviews from test audiences that watched the preview. My question is this, are previews actually a thing in China? I know they are common in the States. Hollywood productions normally invite press people and film critics for press junkets and early screenings weeks before the release, then only when the review embargo is lifted, they can release their full reviews. But I have never heard anything like that being done in China. I don't really care if the so-called early reactions are good or not, I will still watch the drama and see for myself. I'm just curious to know if it really is a thing because this is the first time I've heard about it.

Does anyone get joy of life vibes?..I think it's very similar to joy of life.. Time travel, funny yet serious…
Yes, it's the very reason why I liked this drama. But there's no time travel, just transmigration, or in anime lingo, isekai.

can’t get over the fact the emperor and XuanLie are just 7 years apart… one is so handsome and youthful and…
I actually thought they should've given him the role of the emperor. He's in his late 40's and actors that age are usually given father roles in historical dramas. He would've made a striking emperor and I would totally buy that a young impressionable princess would fall for him. Even though he's a terrific actor and slayed the role of a villain, I would've liked to see him in a more wholesome role in this drama. They could've gotten another equally good but younger actor to play the crown prince.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Maybe I'll watch shorter dramas in the meantime.
Yes, they're both on my watchlist too.

Oh good! Thanks! Looking forward to it!

Hopefully Moonlight Mystique will premiere next week so I can have something else to watch. I usually juggle at least two dramas at a time. 😂

Agreed. I don't care for the actress or the role she plays. I don't know much about the actress as I've never…
Yes, Wrong Carriage, Right Groom, I believe. I didn't even realize it's her because I just placed that on my watchlist for Ruipeng. I didn't know she's popular because she's kinda forgettable. No offense to her fans. She just doesn't strike me as star material for some reason. But who knows? Maybe she'll prove me wrong.

I actually don't mind the naive juvenile type of female character as long as she has charisma and brings something to the table. But if she's purely a love interest, I get bored pretty quickly. Now I'm hesitant to start her drama with Ao Ruipeng. 🤣

Though I do like the drama, they really need to evolve the FL because her ditziness is just a little too much.…
Agreed. I don't care for the actress or the role she plays. I don't know much about the actress as I've never seen any of her dramas but I don't find her charming or the least bit interesting in this drama. I'd be perfectly happy if this was a straight-up male centric drama with no love interest like Mysterious Lotus Casebook. But I don't mind a side romance either. I just can't make myself like this character at all. Maybe that'll change, maybe she'll be one of those characters that grows on me, who knows? But right now, I'm a little bored with the subplot revolving around her. I would rather they focus on the male lead, his wacky family, and his copper gong bros. I watch this drama for them.

New schedule is a little wonky. Looks like some days I’ll have to skip to double up on episodes.
