It WAS hard to choose. On my 10s rated dramas list only, there are so many I wanted to talk about : Mother (always…
I feel like i would have probably did the same as you, choosing one classic drama + one drama written by Sakamoto Yuji. But i love them all ! Maybe i would have chosen Soredemo ikite iru idk. I've never watched the Korean Mother, but the japanese one is so beautiful. I was also happy to see Kazoku Game, which is definitely a favorite of mine. Ah... So many good jdramas.
True, it's hard. But if I'm asked about my favorite...drama there are always immediately one or two dramas crossing…
It does but still doesn't work really well with me ??? i keep thinking about if this wouldn't fit more or not than that, because both of them made strong impressions. But i get it ! It was fun hearing the differents perspectives ?
I definitely wish more people would try jdramas. I watch both jdramas and kdramas, but jdramas are definitely my favorites. I really love the slice of life genre, and jdrama is just so good at that. I also love the format, and the way it's easy to binge it. I have so many japanese drama i would love to recommend. How did you guys choose two dramas only ? This is so hard.
Middle schooler me used to make fun of people watching things like power rangers, but i still decided to watch Kamen Rider Kiva, i don't really remember why ? Probably because i liked Seto Koji ? I was pretty sure of dropping out, but i became quickly obsessed, and i remember having so much affection for the characters. That's how i discovered the charm of long dramas. Even though, i haven't watched many long kdramas. I think only You're the best Lee Soon Shin, because i'm an IU and Jeongsuk's fan. Let's be honest, it was quite bad, but i don't remember hating it neither. It was a way of filling my time. I've also watched Ojakgyo Brothers, because i wanted to watch the whole filmography of Joowon and well... That wasn't so bad. By the end of the drama, i didn't feel like dropping it out at all. I still don't feet attract by the idea of watching long dramas, but i think i might be trying it soon. I need to find a job, but if i try to watch a drama and it ends up being too good, i will have a hard time focusing on what i'm supposed to do and not binge-watch.
haha, you took the bait! :D i wanted to write something a bit 'controversial' in hopes people will be curious…
I took the bait :) well done! It was an easy watch and quite nice as i didn't have much time. Kind of reminded me of Lovely Complex which was my first anime/japanese movie, except with a better cinematography haha :)
I've just watched Socialization Understanding of Dance because you talked about "pretentious films" and i felt a bit offended but i could definitely see me as a lover of a bit pretentious films lmao. It was nice ! I had a good time ! And the cinematography was so interesting for a special !
I think i should watch more often specials. I'll check the rest of the list ! :)
the beginning of ep 21 was so confusing. like she decided to leave but then she was joking?? i totally understand…
I actually really loved this episode but this was annoying. I'm tired of dramas using some kind of cliffhanger at the end of every episodes but still make nothing out of it.
I binged watch this on monday. I was having a not-so-good-day after trying to reduce my medication, and while i cried all day long, i felt like i was healing as I was watching it. I'm not struggling as much as people shown in Fix you, but I still can relate, with my not so healthy mental health. I fell in love with the drama and those characters.
It's honestly not a perfect drama. There's definitely flaws, but it has been such a heartwarming experience until now... I just can't wait to see the following episodes. I rarely re-watch dramas, but i even feel like re-watching what i just watched on monday. I'm so addicted idk what to do anymore.
Also, i feel like the performance of Jung So Min is so good. It's just pretty rare to see korean actress not trying to be pretty (i'm not criticizing them, but the industry in general). I think her performance is amazing. And i can't help but feel all warm with Shin Ha Kyung's smile.
I really loved reading you. I hope more people will watch Soul Mechanic.
Not really sure how to rate this drama, but i really loved the ace/aro character. As someone who kind of identify as asexual/aromantic, i thought it was the best representation i've ever seen in a media, or at least the closest to me. Of course she never used the word "asexual" "aromantic" but it's still nice to show that some people feel like that.
I used to watch so many variety shows. I've been obsessed first with Running man, then Infinity Challenge, Abnormal Summit, Crime Scene, The Genius. Now I honestly have no idea what to watch. I've never watched The genius season 2 because of its reputation, so i might go back to that.
My first drama was Gokusen in 2007, I fell in love with Matsujun, but then i watched season 2, and i was over with him, and obsess instead with Teppei Koike. After that, i have no idea how many actor i've been obsessed with. Trying to watch every single of their project, even the boring one... Now so many years passed and I try to not watch things i don't enjoy, I mainly do it now when there's a character i can't let go of, and i feel that if i see the actor's face longer, even if it as another character, it will make things better. Of course i've been obsessed with lots of johnny's. Arashi, NEWS, KAT-TUN was a little bit less my obsession, but i still didn't want to miss their dramas, hey!say!jump and so many johnny's junior lmao. In 2014 I tried to watch and re-watch all arashi's filmography. In the end, school started again, and i failed to watch all of it, but it was such a good time of my life. I usually call those moment of me watching every single stuff "period" because i know i won't spend ALL THE REST OF MY LIFE watching dramas of the same person, but for that short period of time they are my world, lmao. This is definitely one of my favorite thing in life. I wish i had the time to do this more often.
Well, impressed i am (by your statistics haha). I'm surprised though by the reactions around you. Honestly i'm more ashamed to say i've enjoyed a stupid romantic movie, than a horror one. Well, even without talking about shame, because this is pretty extreme, I definitely feel that it's more ok to say you're enjoying horror movie, than romantic one, at least where I am. Or maybe that's just a wrong impression ? Not sure. So happy to see all this The Wailing praise though. Definitely one of my favorite. I really need to try Ju-on again. I tried it when i was super young, got too scared and too ashamed of being scared so I just stopped lmao. It was quite fun though. Now i'm more ok with being scared. I guess me being a kid just wanted to look like a badass not being scared of anything lmao. I had too much pride haha
Still, i mean whenever i say one of my favorite director is Sono Sion, and i show movie trailer, people always look at me weirdly. Some guy who had watched Sono Sion's films and was apparently kind of interested in me, started talking to me like shit (in a degrading way), in what he thought was a "Sono Sion's way". He was like "you like his movies, so i thought you would love to be treated like that". ??? Some people say so much stupid shit. Just because you enjoy horror movie doesn't mean you enjoy killing cute girls every saturday night, and just because i enjoy Sono Sion's movie... well, that was super stupid. Some people also look at me weirdly when watching a trailer, and some people seem to think i'm obsess with sex. Anyway...
By the way, i'm reading a book with Sono Sion's interview, and he talked about each one of his movie. So i thought of you when i was reading the Exte part. Seems like they cut out a lot of the movie, and he was extremely disappointed with the actual result. Apparently it was supposed to be more funny than what was shown.

I'm surprised to see Innocent Days, i heard so many good things of this one. I will try to watch it this year. Interesting ranking to see ! Makes me want to try some of those to see if those are not hidden gems.
lol it's not just you, some people also had the same problem. It was my first c-drama, it took me 2 weeks to finish…
Hahaha for popular show i always see a big community of people not liking it, but i've seen no one disliking this one so i don't understand. I think i'll watch few more episodes just in case, but i doubt i will finish it.
You may be right. I especially have a problem with the dubbing more than anything, which makes it hard for me to focus. Maybe chinese dramas are just not my thing. It might be more because of that, than the genre itself but well, i'm not that much of a fantasy fan to start with so... hahaha
I was also happy to see Kazoku Game, which is definitely a favorite of mine.
Ah... So many good jdramas.
