This drama has a lot of cliche romance tropes but done right by both our leads and it’s bearable even though we have seen these tropes countless times. We also know FL is in the novel and she is really not a love brain.
Now we are moving into the final arc, where ML pursues and FL dodges, as she is afraid that her time with ML is too short. Hope this doesn’t drag…😅

Yes…exactly, plot armor of a ML…people are starving outside and see what he get to eat 🤷🏻‍♀️. Such luxury at this point of time is just not possible.

And yes! How did he even manage to carry a knife into palace court???!!! The script is really trying very hard to give Wian Hing Chu an impactful role😓. But it’s not very well portrayed here.

That scene where Qian Hong Chu confronted the Khitan King at court and stabbed Zhang Yan Zhe is fictional right? It’s amazing that he can get away not being beheaded with that act even though he was meant to be heroic. I wonder would that scene feels different if it was a younger actor. Making Bai Yu acts young and reckless, is a little unbelievable.😅

And she will meet the real life Gao Hai Ming😍. I thought the journey is for her to fall in love with the 2 D ML then she could be able to reciprocate that to the 3 D ML🤩.

The characters and history events are real but some of the happenings as Salwa mentioned are written by script writers. This is by far, a very good watch, confusing in the beginning but story building up.

This demands full attention, can’t multi-tasks, I tried and resulted not doing my tasks😅.

He is a cowardly useless Emperor. Came to power too easily but unable to manage battles and lack resilience to handle hardship🤦🏻‍♀️.

She is now the character in the novel, and her character is still deeply in love with her B/F. So she is not suppose to initiate a breakup yet according to the novel character.

It’s a tragedy when you watched till ep 10, to see that there is no possibility of winning, just proving a point and buying time😓😓😓.

I was reading and googling some facts on the WuYue history. You can also read the discussion thread by PeachBlossom.
Qian Hong Chu aka Qian Chu was the last Emperor of WuYue before the Song Dynasty united Northern China. He was super low profile and not much significant impact as recorded in China history. So perhaps the drama has to write something interesting for this character here;).
Whereas the other character Zhao GuangYin is impressive and I like how it’s portrayed here, a tough General that fought through war and became King;).

1)SML is typical grey character with annoying behaviour. And yes, FL is aware of his intention and set boundaries since the beginning, and she always call him out.
2)It’s nit a real breakup but just a temporary separation that lasted two ep., ep 23 and 24, they make up on ep 25.

It’s over the top comedy but very natural by the leads and it’s fun. If you like ‘Filter’, you will enjoy this, the show doesn’t take it too seriously and make fun of cliches romantic stunt🤣.

Very pragmatic lady…she said, “stay alive and come back home…” or “we tried hard to make babies before you go…” Love this attitude, wondering we will still see her again.
