One may feel why JCY is not helping MuDan. As he shouldn’t as he knew that she wants to use her own method to problem solve and wouldn’t interfere unnecessary. He is respectful of her choices and decision, even though he seems to focus on money, he is also indirectly observing and supporting her if she does ask of him. They are getting comfortable with each other company.

Yup, Liu Chang is a typical character stuck during that period, suffering from all the cultural tradition, even though he has great ambition, he will find every steps stifling and lack freedom. He admired FL’s courage but yet lacks her commitment. So he actually envious her and want to be close to her to be inspired by her, but obviously it’s too late😅.
FL’s life does get better with ML around her now, although he seems uninvolved, he is also observing her and only help when she asked him. He respects her resilience and strengths and knew she would prefer her own ability to solve problems. Quite a nice watch, very different from Brocade Odyssey.

Same. TTJ and PR’s interaction on work ethics is the best joke. So relatable to modern world 🤣🤣🤣.

Liu Chang should learn to work out his relationship with his first love, Li You Zhen. She really does love him, and he can cherish her more. That will be a growth arc for him.

Nice touch by the production team to slowly shown viewers SML’s choice of costume changes from the beginning white, pale blue to bow a darker green, also showing his emotional entanglement and fluctuation.

SML has always been quite honest and open.

This seems like a common qns here or in most XianXia’s trope. However what I will say without much spoiler is that the SML’s character is written well here, and even both have intertwined fate with FL, there is a richer back story of their bond. SML is still always putting effort in helping the two main lead. Although he said those words to make ML jealous, but his main intention is still to protect them both. I don’t find the triangle relationship annoying.

Well written reflection on this drama. I agreed with your view, there is really a lot of plotholes in this story. They tried too hard to include too many themes but resulted in weak characterization.

Ep 3, I understand that accident can happen in space and this is a k drama….but Commander Eve is really careless.😓
