What you said seems highly possible too. I felt the Bai scholar turning to Jiang and wanting to revenge Rong family too sudden. After all the Rong family gave him money to study, he may be extremely angry with YunShu but to plot with Jiang against the whole Rong family is so uncharacteristic of him😓.
