It’s seems to be a familiar formula, a seemingly silly but smart ML, a macho good friend SML, a troublesome but entitled FL, a female macho version of SFL who is extremely good friend to FL. Then we have a mediocre villian that’s not the real villian.😅

Hahaha…because our dear Yuan Mo is an enabler, allowing her to step over him. I was also wondering why he felt the strong need to help her. We shall see whether there is a back story or he is just a softy to this girl as the script requires😅.

Yeah time lapses written this way, can sometimes break the story momentum. This happens a lot in XianXia script but a little weird here in historical drama.😅

TJC totally nailed the comedic moments, he is a natural to comedy.;) Now that you mentioned, I just realised about the doppelgänger and beautiful demon snake from ShenLi, no wonder they look so familiar🤩. TJC has done villian role before, as Sima Zhao when he was younger, pretty good. But to see him as serial killer, that will be interesting.
The whole set up in this drama and TJC, Yuan Mo’s character feels like a Japanese anime, one moment he is a joker and next moment he is solving case and show us investigation power. Enjoyable and fun to watch. Good to see Zhou YiRan here as Ah Shu.
It’s a clear message of don’t be a traitor, don’t ever betray your country. Karma will definitely come for you. The last 2 ep had some twists but ending was most likely to please viewers.
