ML saw FL walked into the hut with his friend Dr Zhao, so his soldiers were suspecting adultery, and just nice a green leave fell on ML’s head. Wearing green head gear in ancient time symbolizes his wife is having an affair. lol!

I like her in this role. She is acting well appearing smart and yet clueless at the same time. So far this character is so much better than her role in TLP, IMO.;)

It is romance but with Wu Xia element. As you read the synopsis, they both met on unattractive circumstances, enemy to friends kind of trope. Can try ep 1 and see whether it’s something you enjoy;)

I love the pacing. Love ep 1 ending where ML said, “…is she very pretty..” The humour is quite subtle but nicely crafted. So far so good indeed! ML admits that he is a useless bum! lol!

Just started ep 1, just love to watch Zhang Wan Yi’s smirk face;). They are so naturally awkward, good started, nice touch to the humour.

Yes, all those points you mentioned and we are only one third of the drama, so still lots more to uncover. Think the story arc is focusing on ML’s growth at this point.

This team seems to write good male characters, and the females characters all seem to have some flaws…just my opinion.

Yi Wen Jun has twice abandoned her children, the baby in the palace and now her two year old alone in the house…why was her character written this way? Why writers, why???

So far I really like Zhang Hai Mo’s character here, she is brave, smart and intelligent.
Gu Yi Zhong will go through more hardship to be tougher as a spy.
Still can’t figure out Zhou Zhi Fei’s intention.

Ep 33 and 34 made me think, “why, why, why…and sigh…”. This drama is really making one dislike Yue Yao’s sister, Yue Qing.

Agreed! Come to think of it, as you mentioned, Jing was being overly protected hence he appeared so compliance all the time and unable to fight for himself and needed FL to show him how.

I hope you manage to finish this drama. As ultimately it is about FL finding her true meaning in life, choosing to live her life as she wants it and not bound by societal obligation, and relationships with men were not the most important for her.

TSJ’s essence character is captured in this drama. He is smart, yet moments of indecisiveness because of his years of being abused in his family and being brought up to belief his loyalty is to his family only but he has a growth and learnt to pledge his life for FL in the end. Initially he tends to not be able to stand for his rights and fight for his life choice. But he is always forgiving and extremely compassionate which is why FL loves and chooses him in the end. I don’t think there are scenes meant for him that was compromised in this drama. More impact? He got the girl, that’s his winning.

I watched this bits and pieces when it was released in 2021. And now finally finished it, the main leads’ relationship really breaks my heart. It just feels like everyone and everything is against them being together. This is just pure tragedy just like the other K drama Snowdrop.

Jung Hae In and Jung So Min, both are my favourite Korean actors, looking forward to this.
