Agreed with you. It’s all due to expectation and disappointment, so need to find way to justify. But it is what it is. This second part definitely have major editing issues, not smooth.

This ep. just reminded me the differences between a matured adult and an immature youth. Both CX and XY are still stuck at their self-centred losses and you get to see the wisdom of King HaoLing.

Yeah, it really quite nice to add those scenes with novel description. Watching this drama is like looking at a beautiful tree, but reading the novel, one can get to look closer at the flowers on this tree. Welcome to the novel club for this drama, I felt this drama really needed us to read the book to appreciate its beauty. There is a couple of commenters who are novel readers here too;)

Exactly, when you read the novel, that scene made more sense and created an emotional stirred. I felt it’s hard for the drama to explain that in one scene, hence people who didn’t read it will take it as it is.😭

In comparison to S1 storytelling, this S2 indeed is choppy. The focus seems to be creating impact in every scene but not flowing well.

I feel your frustration. I felt the same too when watching XY throwing her tantrum, she has already live so long but yet her emotional age seems to be still so young. But I guess that’s what happened with trauma, she blocks off everything and never really grow or matured hence she is always slow in feeling others’ love for her, whether it’s CX, XL or TSJ, she tends to be clueless and a young child when it comes to emotional maturity.

It’s a magnificent piece of art and history, filled with human tragedy and lives. I was there last year Dec, caught that wall with early snow. I am actually surprise how fascinated I was by it but sadden by how some parts were damage by vandalism.

Lin GengXin does well in the role, you will enjoy his acting. Enjoy;) Her journey of learning only happens more clearly after she met Lin GengXin’s character.

You are almost there, another two more ep. But I am preparing you that you may not like her romance with Lin GengXin either as his character here is not likeable😅.
